  1. Dean Bailey's Press Conference is well worth watching.... He cops his fair amount of $hit from a few of the clubs supporters, but he is so down to earth it isn't funny (hence why he's not overly funny himself ) Honest, To the point and realises where the club is currently at and where they want to end up.... When asked why he did not join the team after the match to sing the song he replied "The game is about the players. What do I do?? They are the ones who train for six months, they are the ones who lift the weights, so it is only fair that they celebrate together. It is just great to sit back and watch them celebrate a win after working so hard for so long. But let's not get ahead of ourselves" Dean Bailey may not be the man that coaches our next premiership side.... But he will have had a massive input in the lead up!! Go Dees!
  2. 15 disposals, 12 hitouts, 5 marks and 3 Frees For.... Did some really nice things around the ground... His handball on the 50m in the last qtr was a ripper... Looks like he could prove a helluva lot of people wrong
  3. If you want to avoid going hard into a contest then you play SOCCER!! Bad kicks happen all day long.... What is Brad supposed to do?? "Oh well, didn't hit me on the chest" and leave it for the opposition?? Go and ask Brad if he blames his team-mates disposal for his injury
  4. Probably wasn't reported very obviously in the Melbourne papers..... But was an absolute classic..... Neil Craig was not impressed by all reports....
  5. One of the more ridiculous things I have read on DL You blame Green's kick last year for Robbo's injury?!?!?!?! Injuries happen.... They can happen out of courage (as Green's did today), out of bad luck (Wonna) and out of stupidity ala Brad Symes Stupid Boy Injuries are part of competitive sport..... Let's not go around and blame them on someones disposal.... Celebrate a couragous player and a couragous win.... Go Dees!!
  6. I live in Sth Australia as well, but have been lucky (or unlucky ) enough to attend every match so far this season.... Today will be the first one I'll miss due to a good friend having their birthday gathering today / But at least in the pub we are going to I will be able to watch the footy..... Go Dees!!
  7. Let him take as long as he needs before we go rushing him in.... Seriously, the year is about rebuilding, we know this..... Let's do it properly
  8. So true..... Just a quick look through your fav player list bears truth to your statement.... Allen Jakovich was indeed once a draft pick..... 1990 Pick No. 6 from Woodville He had just kicked 101 goals in 1989 for Woodville after coming off 104 goals for Southern Districts in the NTFL. Then after demolishing backmen for the Melbourne reserves side, he was promoted to the senior side... the rest my friends, was history! What a legend.... Sorry.... just re-living some glorious memories.....
  9. He has had 4 years.... He promised the Richmond faithful the world.... and delivered South Australia!! Bye Bye Terry :D
  10. Keeping track of our injury list is a full time job..... So many conflicting stories and 1 week all of a sudden turns into 2-4 weeks and vice versa.... Good Luck....
  11. I said the exact same thing to the missus when we saw it on the news..... Any report against a player who is playing on JC.... NO ACTION!
  12. His stats speak for themselves.... One of our best so far this year.... Avg 24 disposals, 6 marks and 3 Inside 50's a game.... A corkie is slightly different to OP..... Get a clue
  13. So he should get off..... The report was a disgrace! Both Power boys got games though.... Which is nice!! Burgoyne the dirty [censored] got what he deserved for kneeing Davey when he was down.... Obviously Port realised that they were like fresh meat in Pentridge last year and have made a pact to get tougher this season.... But toughness is measured in different ways.... Try again Port!! See ya in the showers
  14. There were a few runs out of the backline where the Power didn't touch the ball.... This also happened in the first half against the Filth..... It is passages of play like these that keep my spirits up during these tough times.... As Rachel Hunter of Pantene fame once said, "It won't happen overnight, but it will happen" :D
  15. Thoroughly looking forward to Maric taking the field again..... Doesn't matter when it happens tho.... The wait will be well worth it.... The kid can play footy!!!
  16. Round 2 West Coast beat Port by 50 points. Round 3 Port beat Melbourne by 57 points. St Kilda beat West Coast by 97 points. Round 7 West Coast v. Melbourne in Perth.... Does this mean they are 107 points better than us??? Round 10 St Kilda v. Melbourne at GCS So if WC are 107 points better than us and St Kilda is 97 points better than WC...... Holy Crap!!!! Just thinking out loud....
  17. I was really hoping he would turn into the next Ryan O'Keefe..... Alas he has turned into the next Andrew O'Keefe
  18. My expectations are to have a few beverages and watch an improving Melbourne side play football..... Win, Lose or Draw that is what I will be doing..... If we happen to come away with a win though.... Holy [censored].... Thank god we have tomorrow off!!!! Go Dees!
  19. Good Luck to him..... Hopefully he just takes the pressure in his stride.... Plenty of time to worry about tearing up the paddock later in the year..... Just enjoy the game!!
  20. I am hoping that we have a few X Factors on our list in a couple of years..... I would love to see Jurrah put on a few kgs and cement himself in our starting 22 by 2010..... If this happens, there is our X Factor No. 1 Having seen this kid in action, once Addam Maric is a regular member of the team he will be X Factor No. 2 Throw in Neville Jetta and Jamie Bennell at No. 3 and 4 respectively and we have FOUR X Factors in our side.... But Jurrah will be the big one if all goes to plan..... Not just our X Factor, but possibly the AFL's X Factor!!! No pressure Liam
  21. I am very, very interested to see how he goes tomorrow.... I will be watching very closely from the fence.... Taken at No. 8 in 2004 by Adelaide and then never really got going.... Apparently was never happy with being picked up by an interstate side and was always homesick..... Give 'em hell Johnno!! Good Luck and give 100% to prove a thing or two to your legion of doubters (myself included)
  22. I don't mind them..... It is obviously not ideal..... Everyone would prefer Friday nights or Saturday games.... But, I enjoy kicking back on a Sunday arvo with a few beers and watching my beloved Dees....
  23. PJ better be accountable this week..... Surely he cannot get away with another game where he has no idea where his opposition player is?!?!?!
  24. Yeah.... Meesen shouldn't be too exposed on Sunday.... He's only going up against one of the best ruck combinations in the league... If not THE best.... I'm sure Brogan and Lade will go easy on him.... :P
  25. I guess big Jake Spencer has been given a rest just to freshen up for his hitout against Troy Simmonds next week :D Junior injured???? What exactly is it.... Anyone know?? I will be there on Sunday so it will be interesting to see how John Meesen goes at his old home ground.... Will attempt to give a bit of a detailed report on Sunday night....
