Neeld Sacked with Craig as Interim Coach
John Dee replied to Satyriconhome's topic in Melbourne Demons
Whilst I agree that Knights had issues, I think that the first coach after Sheedy was a dead man walking. -
Sign Jesse Hogan up for 5 years (Suns and Jack Martin)
John Dee replied to What's topic in Melbourne Demons
I can't believe the trashing that we are getting over this. Martin and Hogan have the same manager, Martin has been given a five year contract, their manager has obviously pointed this out to us and said "How about it?". This is not us deparately trying to stitch him up, it's more of their manager trying to stitch us up. Having said that, I would still give him the five years. -
This is a major point of disagreement between my daughter and I. I think the clock is ticking on Jamar and the time of his demise is nigh, she defends him.

Francis Leach is one of my favourite presenters. As an ex triple J presenter, he has, IMO, a lot of credits in the bank.

I want an explanation as to why Magner was not upgraded and played last week, or this week.

I don't think Fitzy has the tools to be a key defender but I agree with the gist of the topic. There is a growing trend towards 2m+ forwards or resting ruckmen. This means that clubs are going to have to find 2m+ defenders. Clark is an intersting one; he has the tools to play just about anywhere. I thought his best ever season was as #1 ruck for Brisbane a few years ago. I thought he was not a key forward but he has convinved me he is.

I heard the NT Sports, Tourism and just about eveything else Minister intervieved on SEN last night. He said that they were very happy with what Melbourne are doing up in the Territory. The sponsorship that they have committed to at the moment is all they can do until their agreement with the AFL finishes in 2014. They will be getting the NT Brolga logo on the backdrop for MFC interviews and in a few other places. The pre-season camp in Palmerston and the associated footy clinics both then and at the NT games are a big hit. Would not commit to anything, he is a politician, but got the impression that, if we play our cards right, this will grow over time into a very good deal.

If they call this news, then expect a big article tomorrow revealing that the sun came up again. All clubs have a salary cap, so free agency will have minimal effect on any club.

Cure Tanking: The Competitive Percentage Determinator
John Dee replied to rpfc's topic in Melbourne Demons
That is just the sort of problem I was thinking of. You would have to introduce a wrinkle whereby the relative methods of the fixture were bought into account. Every time you have to do something like that, the number of people who comprehend the system would diminish. -
Cure Tanking: The Competitive Percentage Determinator
John Dee replied to rpfc's topic in Melbourne Demons
I heard the inventer of this system talk about it on SEN a month or so ago. As a mathmatician myself, I found it most interesting but the general public will not understand it and it will therefore cause more problems than it solves. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH
John Dee replied to e25's topic in Melbourne Demons
If you know that you are locked into a Father/Son pick, then the AIS invitation is yours to deny. For mine, I think he would still go, but if it clashed with something at home or school, he could easily pass. -
It is there, I've seen it.
