it is a shame that trade didn't happen... sewell is winning B&Fs, fergie is getting delisted... so this gives us 6 selections in the drafts, 5 in the national draft plus 1 in the PSD... you always gave your all fergie, got the most out of yourself... good luck, hope you get picked up somewhere...

players are usually happy with 2 year contract earlier in their career... if they have 2 good seasons they will get a pay rise, however if they're on 3 years they have to wait another year for that pay rise... it's only when they're getting towards the end, and uncertain about their future that they ask for 3 year contracts...

from what i've heard from Bailey so far he sounds like the coach who will be able to get the most out of his players, and in the process turn around the careers of some of his players... who do you think Bailey will get the best out of next season? 1. Chris Johnson: had a great pre-season in 2007, was one of our better players in the NAB cup game against Hawthorn, we all thought he was set for a big year, but it just didn't happen. Got dropped pretty quickly from memory. Something tells me Bailey will be able to get this kid to click and be a great contributor for us next season. 2. Brad Miller: if he's still on our list this is another bloke I will be keeping an eye on. Bailey talks about teaching and working with footballers, and I think Brad will benefit from this greatly. They will work on teaching him how to be a more dangerous target capable of kicking goals, try and give him more than the one dimensional game he has at the moment, a game which can fall apart quite easily. 3. Travis Johnstone: the obvious one here. We all know the talent he has, will Bailey be able to unlock it? He played half back flank in round 22 and got a heap of it, but his disposal was still far below what it should be. Could be a massive year for Trav.

i totally agree... what i'm getting at I guess is we should really look at ripping of carlton or the scum at the trade table in their effort to get Judd... if we can't get judd, the next best thing would be ripping off the pies for pick 4...

i understand what angle they're going for... 150th year, looking for a more traditional feel to the logo, as you'd see with the carlton logo, or something like that... it just doesn't work all that well i'm afraid...

i posted much earlier that if judd didn't choose melbourne, we would still be in a good position where we could trade pick 4 for more than it's true worth, as carlton or collingwood are desperate to secure the judd trade... so my question, what would we accept off either the pies or the blues for pick 4? rusling, pendlebury, cloke, fevola, walker, murphy are names that spring to mind combined with other picks perhaps...

as far as I can understand it, the ground where we will train once we move into our new home is as ready as it is ever going to be, and collingwood currently train there... so why don't we train there now? and just do our gym work at the junction... i can't see any reason why this couldn't and shouldn't be happening... it may have helped us land chris judd...

i'm disappointed guys, but i've never read so much crap in my life... judd will still be an amazing player and it'll hurt to watch him run around in a navy or black and white jumper, but is it really a surprise? we keep saying it will only be one season, but it will be two before our new home is ready... i really hope the blues get him now, and if collingwood get him at least i'll have a collect of $140...

there was nothing but praise for hardwick when he went through our process... look at everyone else who made our top 5, eventual winner bailey, supercoach sheedy, caretaker riley and the experienced connolly... says alot for hardwick being among that company, with PG having alot of praise for hardwick saying he will definately be a senior coach one day... they just felt he was a little wet behind the ears, perhaps going through our process helped him get the essendon job...

it's a shame that we haven't had to update that poster, do they still sell it in the demon shop? heard brad green on SEN this afternoon, talking up the demons chances of landing judd, saying Melbourne would be a great fit for Chris, and that he'd look great wearing the number 3 in the red and blue... also said how the other 3 clubs had been talked up about getting him, but said we were a big show to land the brownlow medalist...

maybe juddy really liked the meeting yesterday, has decided he wants to play for the demons and put all his money on him coming to play for us? no?
