  1. well this looks like it will be the case... the filth get olympic park, we get gosch's paddock http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/news/the-...9234867756.html
  2. currently the pies are training at gosch's paddock... they were training at edwin flack field which featured the bob rose interchange bench, but the new stadium is currently being built there... the initial plan was for both Melbourne and Collingwood to train at gosch's paddock... however Collingwood didn't want a bar of that, as they would have to walk from the lexus centre, past the rectangular stadium and our home, to their training oval that they were forced to share... now that it's confirmed that olympic park is being vacated, collingwood will look to move in there... i am surprised to hear that we are going to train there too... i always thought we were going to train at gosch's paddock, and either share it with the filth, or have it to ourselves while they got olympic park...
  3. we most likely would, however if another side finished with less than 4 wins both years, and finished below us next year, who gets the first priority pick?
  4. the point i'm making is if our other players were running hard enough to give an option, mclean wouldn't have to make a handball which puts sylvia under the pump in the first place, he would have an open team mate who he can give the ball to instead...
  5. well that's the anomoly i can't work out... maybe interchange the word unfittest with laziest? i just don't understand why our players don't present like they should...
  6. Our players can't cover the field like other sides can. We flood back, and have no one presenting across half forward, and turn the ball over due to this. Or when we do run hard to give options across half forward, if there is a turnover we're not willing to run hard enough back and the opposition forward line is completely open. Other sides run hard enough to get numbers back when the opposition have the ball, and present options forward when in possession themselves. Hawthorn were the perfect example of this when they played us. Brisbane are doing the same thing today. You know what else happens when you're an unfit football team, your skills fall away, because you're tired when you dispose of the ball.
  7. and we ran forward then, and that looked like the best play of the day... we turned it over in the forward line, and it went straight back down the other end... but at least we looked dangerous... they're scoring anyway, lets try and score a bit ourselves...
  8. well we were somewhat running, however still nowhere near enough, and we scored 5 goals... we're not running now and we never get the ball forward at all, don't even look like scoring... except right now, when aussie got free on the half forward line... he presented... need to see more of it...
  9. we're suffering from laziness/lack of confidence... why won't our players run hard forward? are they fit enough? are they scared? it's not that hard to run... why don't we do it?
  10. correct weight on the backline... they held up really well against carlton last week too... skills lack a little, but they get let down by the midfielders not running hard enough down the ground...
  11. don't think we have... that and the clanger count are the stats we're undefeated in... this was the first time where we've been efficient down forward... even though our actual forwards haven't looked dangerous at all, we've made the most of our opportunities for the first time all year... nice to see the commentators have worked out why we keep getting beaten too... no one presenting across half forward... great quarter from N. Jones, pushing forward really well...
  12. late change... garland out, warnock in by the looks of things... bailey worried about containing brown and bradshaw and brought the extra tall defender in?
  13. i've got a funny feeling too we might come good this week... a restructured forward line, coupled with a complacent brisbane side might see us get over the line...
  14. someone posted this on bigfooty...
  15. if you look at geelong's list most of their important players are aged 24-28... that is the age where players are in their prime... we barely have any in this category, our players are either older or younger for the most part... by trading jones and mclean, we're just delaying this window of opportunity for us... they must stay on the list...
  16. sandy smashing the bombers in the first quarter... 63 to 14 at the 32 minute mark... valenti racking them up early, holland has a couple...
  17. correct weight, that's been our biggest problem, no options presenting across half forward... miller has been reasonable in this area, especially in his last game against north...
  18. i agree 100%... was listening to sen in bed this morning, and they were going on about the army award for courageous acts on the footy field etc... load of crap... i wouldn't mind wiping out a few magpies and bombers, although would be better used on their supporters tbh
  19. true, but he probably won't want to leave freo high and dry and organise a trade to a melbourne based club... secondly, he mightn't want to even come to the MFC... it's nice to think that we could get him for free, but will we? probably a 0.1% chance it'd be like saying jon brown wants to come home, we'll get him in the pre-season draft... it's possible, but will it happen..? just ask big brother... I DON'T THINK SO!
  20. drawing a long bow on warnock, however I dare say we're in the box seat for naitanui... but to be honest, a ruck combo of PJ and naitanui sounds pretty appealing to me... would be the most athletic ruck combo in the comp...
  21. i think you'll find too, that they won't get the top 10 picks... at worst it would be one for gold coast, one for established sides, one for gold coast etc.... so even if we finish bottom we should still get the 2nd pick..
  22. the only carlton player i remember outmarking him was Brad Fisher, and somehow i don't think Col is 192cm tall
  23. how was garland's game considering he was named best on?
