  1. It's clear that one of our problems in 2022 was other coaches watched, analysed and, after a while, came up with effective countermeasures for our game plan. Thus, I suggest this scheme for 2023. Rounds 1-10. Blitz with Plan A. Win 10 on the trot. Rounds 11 to end of Home and Away. Switch to Plan B because other coaches will have worked out Plan A. Win all matches and leave rivals hastily trying to come up with ways to counteract Plan B. Finals. Change to Plan C, a radical departure from Plans A annd B. Win all games easily, bamboozling all and sundry. It's straightforward. Just in case anyone is wondering, this is tongue in cheek, a joke poking gentle fun at those who think complex problems have simple answers
  2. The way the ball bounces out of his hands while attempting to mark is a major weakness.
  3. We're still the reigning premiers.
  4. Just listened. @george_on_the_outer, who are our three above average kicks?
  5. I don't boo. I don't want to be mistaken for an Eagles supporter.
  6. At what moment/incident in the game did you think we were in trouble? That is, how early was it?
  7. The players who need surgery will get it a few weeks earlier than last year = better recovery, better start to 2023.
  8. When an already proppy Salem was injured in Round 1 it was a sign of things to come.
  9. In a few weeks' time I can see myself being in an unaccustomed situation, looking at whoever's holding the cup and thinking, 'That could have been ours.'
  10. Goodwin has always said that they trust their systems. Question: do we still trust their systems?
  11. I heard it was just some of the boys discussing the Jetsons' dog ...
  12. I've held this one over from after the Carlton game: 'Okay, we've seen Plan A (move it deliberately along the boundary line) Plan B (Move it more quickly with some switching). How likely is it we're going to see a Plan C?'
  13. He'll always be remembered for getting the ball to Harmes who got it to Jack Watts to run in and goal to beat the Pies. Thank you, OMac.
  14. Could it be that the draw isn't about fairness, it's about maximising attendances and thus revenue? Maybe?
  15. I'll hold my question redux until next week.
  16. Interesting. And what about if everyone had 50/50 home and away games?
  17. Okay, we've seen Plan A (move it deliberately along the boundary line) Plan B (Move it more quickly with some switching). How likely is it we're going to see a Plan C from Goody come finals time, something he's kept up his sleeve? Or are we going to 'rely on our systems' from here on in?
  18. I'm thinking that all this is a ruse and that Goody has a Cunning Plan which will be unveiled in two weeks, taking all opposition teams by surprise having been lulled into a false sense of security and they will all be blown away and we'll have back to back flags. .
  19. Not grammar, but I suspect those paying attention to this thread might be intrigued by this language quirk noted in 'Elements of Eloquence' by Mark Forsyth.
