PODCAST: QF Preview vs Sydney
I've held this one over from after the Carlton game: 'Okay, we've seen Plan A (move it deliberately along the boundary line) Plan B (Move it more quickly with some switching). How likely is it we're going to see a Plan C?'

He'll always be remembered for getting the ball to Harmes who got it to Jack Watts to run in and goal to beat the Pies. Thank you, OMac.- The Luck of the Draw
Could it be that the draw isn't about fairness, it's about maximising attendances and thus revenue? Maybe?- PODCAST: Rd 23 vs Brisbane
I'll hold my question redux until next week.- If everyone played each other once
Interesting. And what about if everyone had 50/50 home and away games?- PODCAST: Rd 22 vs Carlton
Okay, we've seen Plan A (move it deliberately along the boundary line) Plan B (Move it more quickly with some switching). How likely is it we're going to see a Plan C from Goody come finals time, something he's kept up his sleeve? Or are we going to 'rely on our systems' from here on in?- POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
So many dump kicks from him.- POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
I'm thinking that all this is a ruse and that Goody has a Cunning Plan which will be unveiled in two weeks, taking all opposition teams by surprise having been lulled into a false sense of security and they will all be blown away and we'll have back to back flags. .- Demonstone's and Flaubert's English Grammar for Demonlanders 101
Not grammar, but I suspect those paying attention to this thread might be intrigued by this language quirk noted in 'Elements of Eloquence' by Mark Forsyth.- Demonstone's and Flaubert's English Grammar for Demonlanders 101

I understand that some people would stongly disagree, but a blanket declaration that it's wrong for non-living things to have possession is just ... wrong, in oral or written English, in common usage or formal. It serms to be a style guide thing in a particular circle.- Demonstone's and Flaubert's English Grammar for Demonlanders 101
Sorry, can't go with you on this. Non-living objects can have possession and 'the table's legs' is perfectly correct. It may not jibe with someone's style guide, but that's just a preference.- PODCAST: Rd 19 vs Western Bulldogs
Another quality episode. Incisive, thoughtful, passionate. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- Our biggest issue is...

And please, people, remember that it's a possessive pronoun with a gerund, always! And don't get me started on the subjunctive ...- New Balance 40% members offer

A good film's a good film, in any decade. And this one had Ingrid Bergman. Well worth watching.- PODCAST: Rd 17 vs Geelong

I think our our goal scoring finals series last year is lingering long in the memories of pundits ... They want us to do that again, which would be fun, but I'd rather we did it in finals this year rather than now.- What They Are Saying at Moorabool Street
I grew up in Geelong. I find them hard to like.- 23 - 9
Genuine question: do our 9 free kicks include OOB on the full? - Farewell Oscar McDonald
