  1. Frost: Past meets present! If you could have Lever of Frost, there is simply no comparison. A display of what ‘improving the list’ looks like.
  2. One word:system. If we are going to be a great team then every player is part of our system. You lose a player and the system still works when replaced with another. If we cannot play our game with one forward and one back out, we are not ready to move up the ladder. The replacements may not be as good, but they should still do the job that gets the W. May: Petty then Hibbard Fritta: M Brown, Daw. Or different system: BBB Brown (but i think one week too early).
  3. Thanks for your sterling work, Rusty. Once again the numbers can deepen our understanding of what we witnessed. I’m loving the pressure acts, the two way running and the way the players are staying in contests so much better/longer. Hard to have stats on these things, but they are making a significant difference to the results and our ‘brand’. Clarry has stepped up massively this year= not just pinging the first handball, but creating a valuable exit and chain more often than not. appreciate your efforts.
  4. Disappointed by the injury. Liked the way Lever stepped up, and the way that Brayshaw dropped back to be the key distributor and to fill the hole. Can see Petty cutting his teeth in this back 7 for a few weeks - the big test will be the Richmond Whinge brigade in the near term.
  5. I particularly liked the way he two handed the ball straight to Trac for a simple goal. He knew where he was and directed the ball to him. A classic and canny piece of craft. Think he is a beauty - nowhere near his peak, but definitely a positive addition to the team.
  6. Rucks rarely go first round. Too much development before they can play at AFL level (doggo is the anomaly here...). More midfielder or Kpp types go early. So hopefully we can do a Deakin Smith with him....
  7. Have you seen their coach in the shower, Kev?
  8. A very mature performance. I loved the way they kept the ball in front of them in contests throughout the day. A bit of a lapse at the start of the 3rd, but we got back to our game without too much fuss. 4-0. Thanks!
  9. Honestly, I am glad to stay under the radar. Keep banking the points across a strangely mixed up season. Let other clubs deal with bath water. strong defensive pressure especially in the forward half (stop their uncontested mark world record), make plenty of contests and run the legs off them late sees us home by a comfortable 30 points. Umps to annoy us all day, but we get it done. Go Dees!
  10. May also be load managing young sparrow.
  11. Bbb will be looking forward to a run against another vfl standard team in Hawthorn next week....
  12. Result suits us. Bombers always as losers is good. Swans are March premiers. Swans will be media darlings this week and we can just go about our business of banking another 4 points...
  13. I’d like to think that it’s not a contest between them, but rather an opportunity for them to practice operating together in the same f50. Imagine Brown leading up and Weidemann sitting back splitting the defenders and offering some juicy 1:1s for the Hf line to kick to. Frittata leading to the pocket as third option, and Kosi buzzing around ready to pounce.....
  14. Ok. Got me. I had forgotten about Harmes and his wrist. Probably because he played out the game and we didn’t use the sub. How about 2 weeks?....(not really). Cant remember the team being so settled in a long time. This is a good thing- if it is hard to get in to the team, nothing is gifted . Best chance of developing the game style and cohesion that we need to keep winning
  15. I cannot recall a stretch of 3 games where we didnt lose someone to injury. Loving this stat!
  16. CJ plays for the Hawks, we are playing the cats. CJ can run rampant next weekend, he wont be on the ‘G against us....
  17. Agree they are gettable. Need to keep the speed in the game, and respond to their short kicking bs (that drove me nuts when we played them last year). Dominate the forward half play, have better method going forward and use more speed and we can split them open. Need to be disciplined as the umps love them and they are a bunch of ducking snipers.
  18. Keep banking points. It is a crazy season, and will continue to be. Gotta keep getting the points in the bank every opportunity. Looking like a side that wants to win, and is prepared to work to make it happen. Well done Dees. Not champagne footy (yet).
  19. I think based upon what I have seen so far this year: our method of defence and contest are good. Our clearance work is not yet as good as it needs to be forward pressure and locking the ballin our half has been good skills on transition is an area for improvement when we get two key forwards back, things will really accelerate. i think if we can bank some ‘average’ wins, stay under the radar and keep the mindset positive and switched on, we can build across the season. I think the swans will be ‘March premiers’ and will run out of gas throughout the year. so for today, a workmanlike win with improved aspects of play across the day will be all I want. 30-45 points to feel relaxed, but I’ll still sing the song if we win by a point.
  20. Think they are also one of the teams that are benefitting from the new rules and the way the game is going. Maybe this brings the Tigers back to the pack, and launches the doggies, swans and others. ??
  21. Explainer for Collingwood fans 1. The stock market is more like the Caribbean gardens market but less stolen stuff. 2. Empire: a big building that Eddie reckons Adam Goodes hangs off. 3 clinging steadfastly: like how you hold your sister when she wakes up mid surprise love cuddle. A well articulated price - change it to MFC late last year, with ANB, Spargo, etc and you would think it was bang on for us then too. It is fascinating what a few wins does to the impression of mid range players. They are not such a bad team, but I agree they are on the decline vs others. Their problems will be ageing midfield (cant run out games) and forward line. Bottom 6 are probably a worry, with Daicos and Quaynor rapidly becoming important players overtaking many bog ordinary players.
  22. A religious result for the start of Easter! After a Dees win, nearly the best thing that can happen. Pies lose by a point after the siren. Thank you baby Jesus (now deliver on Sunday...)
  23. Nice to see the true match sim. Ball delivered to sideshow 2 m wide at his feet to meet his lead. Get him practicing for our normal forward entries!
  24. This statement by Pert demonstrates that Ms Wilson is pedalling half truths. She is not adding to the discourse, and hopefully backs off this and lets Burgo get on with it. IF he goes EOY, that would be a loss, but not an insurmountable one. (Richmond have won three flags without him!). The club have been spot on with their communication on this one.
