    Will the lights stay on?
  4. Given the West Coast have been smashed by injuries, would the panel make any specific changes to play on this, or take best available rewarding performance? i think it is a question of philosophy, are we looking at the bigger picture and rotating players, or looking for a win week by week? Goodys language on this is not clear

  5. Clarry in his interview called him “roo - ter”
  6. My hopes for today: A cracking game, Dees to win A successful debut for JVR A return to form for the midfield Grundy back to AA form Cheap beer (not gonna happen) Getting on my bus home with 150,000 ferals at the GP spewing out about the same time

How long can they keep that style up for? It’s a long season, and kamikaze football looks all conquering
.for now. Collingwood have sore Cox and a shafted cam (Eron). Teams need to pressure about 4 players, and make the backs accountable. The rest is a high wire act. hopefully system beats mayhem on Charlie’s day.

Wow. Both these squads have massive issues. Tough game, that Garcia gave away multiple 50s. Jamarra and Naughton a good pair up forward. Daniher and Lobb both useless in their own special ways.
  9. Well done on a thoughtful, respectful and open interview. I love how ‘loading’ got (sort of) confirmed in terms of training blocks! Very interesting, and my congratulations on getting both access and a reasonable level of engagement (not just cookie cutter answers) that bring us all value.
  10. And ‘accidentally’ catching their pinched head between the two high diving hands???
  11. Any thoughts about a shifty move - Harry Petty Forward, May into side. Milky back to Casey and AMW in? TMac play second ruck.
  12. Some might forget a player who went at #2 in his draft year, potential forward with lots of time on the clock, Schache? Anyone? Plus JVR, Jefferson and even H Petty. Stay calm
..
  13. So Fagan wants to whine about being disadvantaged at losing a few minutes warm up. I think they had an unfair advantage practicing on a centre square that was a cricket pitch - and behaved like an ice rink. How many times did they just smash it out of there? we lost so much territory it was like playing uphill, and the conditions looked sweaty slippery. What do you guys think contributed to the worst midfield performance (leaving off the Max Factor) in 3-5 years?
  14. Worst game in 5 years, flattered by the result. Couldn’t give a rats effort by almost the whole squad. Midfield insipid, petty pathetic. Too many to mention that has underwhelming games. Wtf happened to allow such dominance by a bunch of
. Letting Daniher look like a valuable player was a disgrace. need to turn that around before next week.
  15. Any team with Daniher in it is a joke. Dumbest footballer I have ever seen. cover Rich from delivering from HB and they are cooked. 48 point victory to the Dees
  16. Smith as emergency
. Really? Hopefully of the Deakin variety
.
  17. Great Sub choice. Milkshake is a very smart footballer that can play middle and ahead of the ball, but might not be as fast or have the legs of the others. Bring him on as a sub when others have slowed a bit and let him get to work. He contributed straight away. A tactical masterstoke? (I think so)
  18. Sorry, I’m just a bit nervous

  19. March premiers are obviously the filth. Let us just quietly crush a few teams over the first 6 weeks and settle into the momentum of winning. We will then know how the game is being played, and where we stand. Dees by 32.

    Ha ha! Equal ninthmond!!!
  21. Great work compiling all of this. Interesting how we rate well for the flag. I agree - we have a really strong defence, a top flight midfield and a developing forward line. Our gameplan has been sharpened and pre season looked like a top flight outfit. Its a long season, but I hope the intelligence of the crowd is more valuable than the ‘stupidity of the herd’.
  22. Forward line? Naughton is good, Ungle Bungle unproven, Darcy is wet behind the ears and Lobb is a go-missing off cut from Freo. Get it to ground they say? With those talls? This forward line looks top heavy and no weightman is their biggest forward line issue, will lose 4 goals from no getting rubbish free kicks.
  23. I think our forward half will benefit from: BBB and TMac being healthy. Although we have others waiting in the wings, these are our ‘1 woods’. Schache - might be an x-factor that has slipped under the radar. Better delivery and a focus on better target selection (including kicking to the hot spot 30 m out straight in front. Ed, Hunter, ANB, Kossie, Spargo and even TMac can make a big improvement to us here. Resting midfielders kicking more goals. Rotating Trac, Kossie, Viney, Sparrow and even Oliver down the front end should help with pressure, clearance and scoring. Having the 3 princes always in the middle robbed us of this offensive threat. Faster ball movement that breaks the lines, rather than puddling along Ed’s wing all game. This will help our forwards get better position. 4th umpire: proper free kicks to Big Bald Benny Brown. Improved goal kicking craft I believe this is an area we have significant upside, and based upon f50 entries, increasing efficiency by only 10% will lead to massive changes in scoreboard outcomes.
  24. This is the second worst week of the football year. the first is the week after going out in straight sets. the second is waiting for it all to begin, reading and hearing all the drivel by the commentators trying to fill column inches. Enough already! Time to get on with the real stuff. Go Dees!
  25. Afternoon performance to enjoy, then Into town for beers and a Parma (Preload phase), then toddle of to my reserved seat to enjoy the match
