  1. I will be the first to admit I have a bee in my bonnet about this player. I generally watch him like a hawk . Im still waiting for him to earn his money, to have his real break out game, to win one, to stamp himself on this game. Still waiting. I can also spot an apologist a mile away. I'll ask a simple question of this ilk. Why make excuses for a 10 year player that continually under-delivers ? Is it unrequited hope ? Blind faith ? Id love him to turn it on.....honestly. He wont though
  2. and yet some did. We took 37 they 55 . Sylvia none.. Its one of his strengths
  3. and it works to their advantage. They must love it. 4 or 5 games a year , gifts
  4. did he ..if so I will humbly sit corrected.. My stats show none ive since checked another source and indeed it shows 6 tackles I was wrong. He Had 16 possies for no marks and 6 tackles. , 5 of which seemed to result in frees. This in my mind raises a few questions How did such a good marker of the ball get none. Johnny come late, slow to get to advantaged position ? He is not a player without ability but just doesnt seem to want it bad enough
  5. whilst I understand your position ( that of an apologist ) it doesnt address the problem at hand , that being he is a serial pest. If you reckon we're all talk no action ,,heres a bloke stealing serious coin for just that !!! lol
  6. Now I will preface this with: No I wasnt at the game. Ive only seen some of it replayed. Ive listened to a friend who did go. and Im a littel biased as ive never been impressed by C.S. Col Sylvia was playing his "trumpeted" 150th Col Sylvia is supposedly looking for another charitable handout from the MFC Col Sylvia managed 16 possessions . That included NO marks and NO tackles is this guy just full of [censored] or what....honestly Let him go, cut our losses. Hes not what we need.
  7. We lost...yep we did.. Great surprise. Who ever got to go and watch Im envious, in a fashion, though the cattery has never been a friendly place. Ive only ever been to the cattery 3 times in all my football following life. Never seen a win. Over the journey we ( many followers and I ) always believed that the ground was SO Home -advantaged that it was worth a goal a quarter and a couple for the game. At least 5-6 goals in before you start. Over the seasons course it leveled out back then as every one got a bit of a start against the "visitors" but the Cats was a different game at Kardinia. so where was I ...Oh yeah, we lost. By 68 points against a seriously in-form team at their place. Theyre what...2nd ...and were 2nd last Theyre in finals form and we finally finding some form. Why is anyone really upset or seriously surprised. Yes from this game we can learn a few more things, and then we move on to next week, and the week after and before too long the pain is over for another year. Craig is in good form not great form. Hes in two minds bit then so is the club. Singular of purpose but split as to action. A number of players will see the seaosn out and will be their last at Melbourne. For some it will end a longish association and for others but a temporary sojourn. The wash up will be a good rinse and clean out at Melbourne starting 2014 quite different but thats then and this is now. Were just starting to learn how to run again after a fair period of having our legs shackled. We lost at the cattery against a feral opposition, not fussed. Some players by some accounts let themselves down , yet again.. Im more concerned by this. Serial offenders need dealing with.
  8. Keep in mind Its been 118 worse !!
  9. 1 down 7 to go
  10. Id ? Freudian slip up !
  11. Brave people lol
  12. A good argument why many stats are essentially bogus. I know some swear by them. I generally swear at them. Theres often very little context to them and i laugh at whats often deemed an 'effective ' disposal.
  13. A mini draft style leg up does firm as the best course of assistance with possibly the least resistance factor . We may know soon enough.
  14. im with youCare factor =0
  15. Its a formaility for Roos or a necessity if anyone else. Im not fazed
  16. About the most effervescent Ive seen you Ben I think you may well be right though. You just get the impression from this lad that he BELONGS on a footy field and that he's quite at home in that role. This is possibly the something you alluded to as lacking in some others Some players get a little spooked at the highest level and take varying lengths of time to assimilate ( or not ) Jesse will walk onto the G thinking....BRING IT !!!
  17. Old , if the AFL was running this and wrote the rules then I might concur. This is NOT the AFL's domain, they are in someone elses court now and so are Essendon. This is Brave new World for Vlad et James ( and Co. ) muwahahahaha !!!
  18. What the odds are in reality becomes irrelevant ( given relatively small dollars involved ) If betting WAS suspended, then thats a very material development Seems bets still on
  19. And we can be so high minded and picky because ........ Its business, hes good.
  20. Demetriou is a big fish in his bowl He is a little guppy in the real world WADA dont give a stuff, nor ought they. Vlads in dmage control. Not because he particularly cares one way or another about Essendon as such just that if WADA whack them he ( AFL ) have one almighty headache. Vlads just playing the game. Its about 15 -40 in the last game and theyre losing 2 sets currently. Play on...
  21. As much as it might delight the many it would be more prudent to stay mute. See out the season as is then announce at or just before the last game what is happening. If Roos is coming the boys might like to give one last valiant effort as thanks to Craig. Man would have pride and dignity intact ,Would be a new direction for Melbourne Even if Roos is or about to be consigned he can do much in the background. Theres a need for some sense and decorum in all this. edit and dont think for one moment that the AFL isnt appraised of all things as much as possible.
  22. If they did it would probably read like :
  23. It would have to be asked why any more NEED resign, not that they wont. Im not sure Russel still has much of his little group left intact . Depends really doesnt it on how many PJ/AFL sees as ideal ? Answer that and it might give a clue. Conversely maybe one more ( the new Chair ) might round it out .
  24. Im curious as to the input and colour ( sts ) that Jason Taylor will add to this years selections. Ive been trying to discern a style that he has aided in contributions to the Collingwood list but must confess am just going in circles. Anyone with greater knowledge of this man care to comment as to what he would be looking for ?
