    Hope its not raining Saturday.
  4. And if he miscued that by a whisker he'd kick Rozee in the head and be cited for it... hung drawn and quartered and given 6 weeks holiday. Hunter played the circumstance about as well as could be done. The spotlght ought to be on Rozee... for endangering himself. Maybe the obvious needs to be said by the AFL... if you go head first into a contest youre bound to get hurt and thats on you.
  5. This must rate as one of the most informed and accurate observations of our "style" i have read. I often lament we lose games by design...and you've described it brilliantly. There were a number of curiosities about how we went about that game and every one of them points straight back at the Brains Trust. The coaching handicapped us. It is indeed elementary eh Watson (Top PostπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘)

All rhetoric aside.. all thoughts just with where we are, who we've played well against. Combine with our problematic areas...clearances.. wet weather... opposition pressure. Where do you see us in a month ? Personally I think Ollie is much more critical to our fabric than Max. Max has understudy(s) .... but extremely useful when fit and on song. Ollie is a unique animal. Our season doesn't so much hang by a thread should Ollie not play....it becomes precarious because Clarry has a unique way of bringing his team mates into play. That's not reflected on a stat sheet... Thats partly why stats are [censored]. We are just... JUST hanging onto 4th presently.. it wouldn't take much to slip yo 6th. 6th..7th...8th... same same....you're stuffed. Im not enjoying some misguided role as a doomsdayer... i just look at footy realistically. I discount the footy speak as garbage. I seriously question the ability of our coaches to provide wisdom and direction. We seem stuck in a rut. What gets us out of that rut is players like Oliver who doesn't fit a mould. He just does Ollie stuff. Take that stuff away and were more mediocre/predictable than before.

Over rate Oliver ?? Hmmm Premiership Player Twice AFLCA winner 4 x Bluey... Checker Hughes Medal Daniher Trophy Career avg 30 d a game ffs On On On Pretty funny stuff there Jimmy. He's not over rated...he's exactly what he is...a brilliant unique player. Absolutely required for our success.

Where have they been ? Theyll just flick the switch next week ?? Couldnt be bothered Friday... was only a kick in it after all .... All of this is plainly ridiculous. We are over rated.
  10. Not hardly even seen it at any game attended. I don't get it...seriously.

Do we... Where has it been ?? Only for spesh ?? πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

Totally agree.. Some suggesting players should/will/ought to step up... fill the void...take the load. As if They should be doing this already...if.. The reality is theyre already playing at their ceilings...and THAT'S the real problem here. There's no extra gear to go up. Even.if they can...it will be shortlived. Just look at our footy... and be realistic people. We want our team to succeed ...but we fall into the trap of over rating our lot...under-rating the others. Why should the same lot that got dacked for 3/4s friday suddenly morph into "better" players. Weren't they incentivated sufficiently Friday ?
  13. beelzebub replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Hope youre right. I think you're over rating the ability of some...and injurylessness of others. Now you're really stretching it with the Brains Trust thinking different. Same mob that saw Butters..did nothing πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”
  14. beelzebub replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Those that suggest otherwise... Pray tell... how do we replace his effect ?? And over to you all.... He's our engine room.
  15. beelzebub replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Get a fn grip 36 Clarry out... season in the gurgler You know it.. i know it 1000s know it He's not replaceable. He is the Unicorn ffs The only thing i will agree...an opportunity for someone else... sweet whoopd de do... oi vey!!!
  16. Roffey needs to go on the offensive... seriously...
  17. Yep.. my 2nd thought was this might well constitute common assault. @Redleg
  18. Keep in mind ... it's invariably the AFL accredited media ;) ;) ;)
  19. I hope you reported that to the club so they can make a formal complaint to the AFL and Port. That's disgusting....Not ON !!!
  20. beelzebub replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
We need to understand.....it's IMPOSSSIBLE to replace Oliver.....all we really do is add a name to the team sheet. Clarry is as good as 2 others. If this transpires... ... we're not looking too flash....if that we were..

Oh this will be fun esp KBW
  22. That 4pts is/was both enticing and frustrating at same time. In a Schroedinger manner it was both near and far at the sane time. We could well have snagged an improbable win but for the vagueries of umpiring. Had we it would have been ironic given the day( night ) Teams do indeed have plans and schemes to bring us undone....and do. In return we back our brand. Better coaching, better strategies and a better understanding of where we were on the night could have changed the outcome. We lacked all of that. We have the players, we have the ability. We lack football intelligence. This may well prove the winter of our discontent. Sad.
  23. Im fervently coming to the conclusion our 2021 Cup was with apologies to Lemony Snicket....a Series of Very Fortunate events. A lot of things just fell into place...yes...many things were of or by design, and a lot wasnt. Luckily for us...on that day...we clicked...finally..and the rest is history. And it IS HISTORY. What worked then is NOT working now...and again it's not working by DESIGN. The design/gameplan/style/brand ( choose your own jargon ) has gone very STALE. I've used it before and for mine best sums up our situation, we're stale...and stale things left unattended go right off and stink it up...well lookee there...just like us. We are not adapting, there's no real recourse to other styles within a game , especially when you can see as blind Freddy can that something aint working on the day. I really dont get the thinking of our brains-trust. I know there is capacity and capability there. Despite any and al of my reservations about Simon he does and did have ideas. They were quite left field in the early days , with PR at teh helm he ( SG) tried things, changed things up. It was actually refreshing and interesting.. But I did start to notice when either the rule -changes cought up or opposition coaches worked it out thatwe seemed either slow or incapable of again recasting our Runes...And thats exactly where we seem to be today...Stuck in yesterday footy
  24. Yep...we cant play wet footy for [censored]... Our efforts to kick in etc in the pouring rain...the manner, the setup....is Im sorry laughable.....any 2nd tier suburban coach will know NOT TO DO ANY OF THAT. Common sense suggests to adjust for the weather....we just go out in the same shorts and shirt expecting it to work. Bodes well going into winter....you know....when it rains and blows a bit.....
