In many ways his 3 goals were better than good. To explain. Whether it was the first five mins of a quarter or last ( as some are keen to ascribe Reject shop value ) is irrelevant in so far as he accomplished two things each time. First and most importantly he added 6 points to the scoreboard . Each time he did it under absolute scrutiny. These weren't impromptu lucky kicks , they were beautiful executed kicks for goal under the gaze of EVERYONE. We're short two talls....and possibly a medium sized lad with very good disposal. They may well be among our midst already but weren't on the park yesterday. I have no concerns about the zone other than relying on it at all times. From my bball days you needed to be able to switch between modes according to the game/opposition. Some says/games a particular modus just wouldn't click. You always sought to defend as to minimise their score. I see footy as no different. Reliance on winning a shootout needs absolute abilityinfront of sticks by your shooters. We saw that idea's shortcoming didn't we.

He seems far happier and productive when he comes up the ground. Far better suited as a CHF who can, dare I say it play through the guts also. I don't think he should be caged in the square sts.
