Farewell Jesse Hogan
Meanwhile back at the ranch... I noted an article ( behind paywall...but quickly read at cafe ) ..Jay Clark HS ..other day writing along lines some here ( myself included ) suggest as to are we better/ worse ..with or without Jesse and what is his actual value...is ..as player...or tradable asset ? Almost like he read this thread ?? I still think it's a valid question deserving of more than dismissive rhetoric. Is he necessary to a flag ? I don't think as much as what his worth might get in some A mid(s) etc.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
We certainly do. In fact the 'elephant' of questions is: do we set up and play better without him ? I know such a notion is heresy among some but it's certainly crossed my mind. So just for a moment if we put aside the debate of whether he's good bad or otherwise do we simply play a more winning style without Jesse ? Had he been available where would he have played yesterday...and to what benefit ? Bit of a sliding doors conundrum.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
"The news that Jesse Hogan is out of contention to play with the Demons until 2019 after suffering a foot injury during their nine-point loss to the Swans at the MCG last Sunday might have sent feelings of shock and aware through the community of Demon supporters but I’m not overly concerned about the fact that the club’s key forward will be sidelined for the rest of the season. The reason why is that Melbourne seems to produce its best wins without Hogan in the team" Food for thought ...surely !!

Please ... he's no Neeta. Neeta could kick ..and from 50-60 out....when it mattered.

For mine the sheer idea we need to consider Weed at this make/break juncture just highlights our limited fwd structure options. Any which way people are purely guessing anyone is capable of slotting in up fwd and doing anything of note. I don't think the Weed is really ready for this. Id consider Pedersen a much better option...but he's been playing down back. That said I'm not convinced he'd suddenly forget how to play the fwd arc. If the weed wants to try fresh fields... sayonara and best of luck. No real loss in my book.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Is there a time table for this ? To me the essence of all of this is will Hogan ever consistently be ...not injured...in form...in right mindspace...is ...fulfilling the potential/idea-of-player-people-think-he-is as opposed now. I'm more concerned...impressed that...he can hit the side of a barn against decent opposition....than split the flags on a slalom run.

Just a thought...the bookies had us winning against the Bloods. Play carefully with numbers

Has Nicholls ever paid us a free?
I saw four occasions.. ( and there may have been more...I only saw four ) where a Swan player just ran over the mark at the kicker. Wasn't pinged once ...not once...all day.
