  1. Why are we being 'forced' ? We hardly switch. We have stopped opening up the fat side. We're getting coraled ...yes...but allowing it.. Its what it looks like to me....and i don't think im too lonely in that.
  2. I reckon it's worth including the Titus take on the game. Behind the comedic sarcasm is a rather astute dissection of the game...as was GOOT's For your edification: https://www.titusoreily.com/afl/thursday-knee-jerk-reaction-afl-round-five
  3. Except Viney is still a whiles off. And what if ir flares again Viney of himself is no answer to our dilemma. He helps our cause. Doesn't solve it. Better ball movement is by design...by practice... instructions . I simply think theyre being taught a bogus style.
  4. Nibbler out before Stretch....but not by much
  5. Idd like to bump this and encourage those who haven't read it to do so. Those that have to do so again. It pretty well sums up where we're at. I wouldn't have been quite so effervescent about our backline to be honest but it was the better performed area of our game...even if someone kept leaving the door open. All that is wrong with the Dees is laid bare above. As Mr E Aaron P might suggest....a little less conversation...a little more action please. Let's Walk.....then run
  6. ^^^^^ yeah thats called doing the little things well ?
  7. If yesterday was any indication Ess will try ... emphasis..TRY ...to control the ball. They love dlcking around the back 50 in the effort to maintain this control. Here's the opportunity to slice them open. They ..like us... ..over use the ball. This might be a day for Jeffy...if he wakes up ? The likes of Milkshake Jeffy...even Tom...if fit and selected should..again.. SHOULD .. get plenty of opportunities to score. Of course our conversion of late sux. On paper we're better....on grass...who the f knows. Essendon wilted against a pretty effectual attack. Bucks isn't affraid of the corridor..and that was the G !! Etihad is a weird ground. Too easy for us to get list in pockets. The best way to goal is the guts ...or switching back into the corridor...sadly something we seemed to have forgotten how to do. Danger Will Robinson. Two elements that will be different from last meeting. I doubt Hairy Lip Joe will have another disaster...and someone else will needs to do watts right in front of sticks. As ridiculous as it sounds id consider resting Max. He wont be the difference in this game.
  8. Well Stretch and Nibbler must be bvggered from running round all night ( aimlessly ).They can rest. Tmac ought to come in if fit Fritsch...in for Harmes. I can't see Lewis being ready but i wouldn't mind his Footy head down back running things. Might wait to see who trains when for actual ins/ outs
  9. But Red... it's ALL about the contest !!
  10. It seems to be that the approach by the Marvelous Three is to create a team of players who are all beasts at the contest. Its actually spoken of in a fashion as such. But that's not Footy and as seen on Tues night such a limited approach only affords better equipped teams with the opportunity to utilise space. In two successive games we were opened up because we concentrated too much in finite spaced...crowding ourselves...having NO options...but giving opposition plenty. We have the wrong approach. It wil kill us inmore games to come if no change.
  11. It's possible Richmond fans are just worried about losing their clasp on the cup. We on the other hand are concerned about even being relevant. Richmond had the game won before the start. We had a Neanderthal approach that fell over as soon as thinking was required. Its probably only the diehard optimist that sees the glass as even half empty. On form it IS empty.
  12. Changes ?? Just fresh legs There's no skills anywhere...just fresh legs?
  13. Keep in mind ...should we lose to Ess it starts to become playing more and more teams above. Annus Horribilus on the cards if no immediate correction .
  14. Dunno... you're beating yourself rather well.
  15. The greatest of real worries for mine. Be bad enough if we were stagnating ...not furthering our 'brand' ...but as you rightly note we're actually sliding backwards. The younger ones have more games..and getting worse. Older ones suffering from Footy-Oldtimers ...just forgetting to play !! A lot of movement....no progression.
  16. Really. You're an apologist for poor form. Im happy to discuss. YOU want to make snide remarks towards the postet. Its hardly disapproval is it. Some one disagreeing with your pet subject and YOU get all narky. The idea that age is the blame is ironically..ageist. Its in reality their education ( football ) and environment. But happy not to discuss. There are pros and and cons to youth. To trot it out as that old chestnut...' this is why we're rubbish ' Its more the quality of any abilities, both the student and the teacher. Id say our 'curirculim' and school far more the reason. ( Btw.. thats called discusion ) try it..
  17. From the..im not using this as an excuse....but im using it as an excuse. Other sides with similar ages playing far better. Wonder why . Actually ..I dont. Our coaching, skills and plan is rubbish.
  18. Agree. I mentioned elsewhere had they been even 50% less off target earlier a thrashing would have been an annihilation. Richmond played better for sure 50%because they do 50% because we let them by stinking it up. Lets not ignore the Elephant... we're rubbish atm
  19. This is NOT why we're playing like shlt. The style and nature of instruction is.
  20. George, unfortunately you nailed it. All talk.....yet to walk the walk.
