Just putting it out there. 1) take-off any rose coloured glasses when evaluating the worth of any player. Like any market he will be worth whatever convinces a deal to transact. 2) picks DO NOT need to be used per se.. They are currency. They can be on traded/used or banked( depending on what draft they apply ) Point being.... think outside the box folks.

Im guessing its a bit of both. Opportunities and Loyalties. That said I think there's an overriding reason, and quite possibly the one that differentiates him from another ( possibly ). I think he's really found his passion for the game and love of the jumper. He really seems to be involved and connected out there. Im just not seeing that same thing in #5.

I can agree to that. But what it says to me is possibly the entire notion of BRAND as contextual to location etc might all be urban myth as it doesn't bear scrutiny. I think he just wants to play footy ( a bit more his way than not ) . His SOCIALS etc exist but possibly quite separately to his sporting work. Granted his audience was introduced via footy and it may well live or die (sts) according to his success but it may not matter where he resides or plays to be just as effective. I get the idea he's quite pragmatic in his thinking about his career ( now ) . I'd be thinking he sees himself relevant for perhaps another 5 years. That time frame is probably not going to prevent him packing up and relocating. We'll just have to watch it play out I guess.. Lol...he could end up at Geelong.... with his own lifestyle farm and channel

On the face of things yes... totally agree.. yes or go or whatever. Ollie has so why not Tracc ?? And thats the clue. What are his motives ?? My take. He's a footballer, a very good one. Not quite at the top of his game but still 'effective' . Does he feel bound to Melbourne ? Im going to suggest no. You're free to disagree but I do invite you to look at the evidence. He's more than happy to play for us. He's more than happy it seems ( granted ..its a picture being painted ) to play for another. That is the definition of mercenary. I've no problem at all with that. I can understand if others find that unpalatable. He's playing HIS game. I get it. Im fine with it. Sit back, shut up, let the hired help do their jobs. He doesn't owe me squidly... doesn't owe anyone squidly really. Thats just the modern football landscape. He'd line up in a different jumper next year without worrying about what any of us here think nor want. He's a footballer, that's his JOB. If any were paying attention he told us that exact thing only weeks ago. So let's take him at his word. I've no reason to doubt it. To reciprocate the idea I'm happy if he plays for us...am content if he goes and we're compensated. Meanwhile other than the Big Dance the only other game in town is the 🎪. Im pretty sure the club will understand this. Players have a limited time in which to play the game. Part of playing that game for some is playing another. The simple reality of why he can't say this or that is because he can't. He doesn't know himself.... the game hasn't played out to that extent yet.

Why do you suppose such ? Willful thinking Willmoy ? This time last year he was open to a move. I really dont think much has changed. I can certainly accommodate the idea there's a bit of 'pushing the envelope of credibility' when it comes to 'footy news' but I do often suspect the font of much knowledge, well scuttlebutt often emanates from the poorly plumbed fountains owned by player managers.

And again i go back to the basic question... are we setting out to create a champion team or a team with a few champions. Invariably there are teams ( playing well ) where quite a few on their list were relative unknowns a few years ago. A top team has more than a smattering of good players, playing their role well topped off with a relative handful of very good players and often a standout or two. The gameplan and coaching is super important. It's about marrying up all of this into a cohesive effective unit. The idea that the panacea to an ailing team is some sort of silver bullet in the form a defecting champion is imho an absolute furphy. We need to worry more about our 'system'... how we play more than this bloke or that.

Where Flanders ends up may not be quite as simple as 'i wanna go there'. He's still contracted ,but a wantaway. Much will depend on suitable trades available. It might just be Melbourne are in a better position for that trade than the Aints. Time will tell. Exciting..... the Circus is coming.🎪🤡😂

I have no idea as to the terms of either's contract offer. I think it would be premature to discount the King connection. When others didn't show faith ( so much ) in Flanders, King did. Be very surprised if that goes unremembered. What bearing it may have 🤷♂️

I've now a distinct impression.. Is ONLY my opinion.... I'm inclined to think that since Tracc's unfortunate injury and dealings on the sidelines that he became particularly jaded with things. As a result ( again just my thoughts ) he may have developed into a more mercenary athlete. Some of his remarks since could be read in that vein. Or I could be totally on the wrong Track 😉 As such, if of this bent, it would be very easy ne possibly quite prudent to just sit back, say nothing and let your manager take the calls and field the offers. It will not surprise me one bit if he up and leaves. That said he could stay and play. It will be whatever suits. Can't say I blame him if this is his view on it all. His all but Freudian slip at the Bluey suggest that this is "his job" fits this mould of thinking to a T. Go Dees

Am sure he'd find himself some nice digs close to Metricon. Not far to get away to Noosa when wanting. Choppers do Coolangatta to Noosa ..

Or..... instead of saying anything.... Say nothing and let it all unfold.... if it ( wherever you were quietly looking to head to ) fell over there is sort of plausible deniability. Think I'm seeing the clouds lifting...... Go Dees- Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
And it would be very Melbourne ( luck wise ) if he did that elsewhere. - Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026
