If it came down to a choice.. id probably side with bubbledome.. howevre.. There really isnt much of a case to suggest we are cemented in Melbourne. We wistfully look across the tracks to our beloved G...but its nots ours anymore is it. hawthorn took a deal( in waverly ) .. Sainters are now heading to frankston ( my daughter is Sooo rapt !! lol ) does it really matter. i suspect it doesnt.. Its not like the old territorial suburban days where a matter of a street separated one allegiance from another..Thats all gone.. The club needs to think with its head.. and bank balance.. Do whats best...not necessarily the most "passionate " option But id just as happily have it move to Linton Ave.. close to Oakleigh Bentleigh.. and Sandringham. All Im suggesting is ..until that dotted line is signed we keep a corner of our club eye peeled for the quick chance !! keep options open

Its a very clever policy of Carlton's.. They can claim plausible denial. I dount th ewords 'tank' 'throw' etc were used anywhere except over a beer out of earshot. All conversations would have "implied" a certain tact be used...nudge nudge ...know what I mean !!! etc Ratten could well have been talked to in such a fashion as to leave in no dount teh 'opinions' of the borad ( read Swan ) and that it might be appropriate prior to offical contracture that he 'show' the club his true alliance !! People are asking for the smoking gun...the 'evidence".. How naieve..you poor fools.. There never wil lbe short of a taped convo. we have no "proof " of a black hole per se.. how can you..it literally doesn texist.. so how do you prove it 'does'... You interpolate.. You observe.. you then fit it all together and you have a case to show that such and such is more than X% likely to exist !! So too with tanking. You look at teams fielded...you look at coaching methods ( or lack of actions etc ) you look at results etc. Aprt from teh idea it was a poorly kept secret ..you only need look at what transpired to see that Carlton tanked..!! if it looks like a duck...sounds like a duck.....flies like a duck...Im guessing its a DUCK !! they tanked !! The minute you present an advantage to the norm for any team to be in x position rather than Y ..you have a siutation that breeds corruption.. To think anything else is naieve . Straight out picks according to position.. Its simple..it worked..only 'priorities' stuffed things up !!

I also see the temptation for teams to "slip' down into the better lotto gaining positions. The draft works ok..dont fix it.. Its the priorities that need scrapping.

I think logically you simply get rid of priority picks. If you finish last you get 1st pick.. and #17 and #33 etc. If you end up on the bottom for 2 or three years then your problems are more profound I suspect that a couple of picks can fix !!

Its no different at all.. it hardly comes as any surprise after all it was the out and out standing joke of late last season.. It was talked about, ridiculed etc. We all knew it here...many at other clubs supposed it. Yet Andrew ( my head is in or up something ) Demetriou continued to roll out the line that such things dont exist. Good onya Libba for having the balls to say it as it is Not only should Carlton forfeit draft picks this season but Demetriou ought to be stood down for incompetence. #16 dont beat yourself up.. Apply reason.. you have probaly greater priorities in life than a foottball membership. Yes it might be nice, but what sort of insane world does this become if you cant let that slide inorder toatend more importnat things... Go along to the games you can,,support the Dees ..as you can.. feel no shame for no ticket. .if thats what it comes down to then some folk have very strange life standards !!

Maybe like a collective Howard Beale of sorts..if we all say : "we're as mad as hell ( appropriate..lol ) and we're not going to take this any more " !! maybe the club might notice ?

I must confess...i find the whole thig quite amusing. I applaud passion and committment..Like past years i also will hand over money without any real value attached.. ( I for one reason or another only get to about 4-5 games a year) I Consider it a donation really; gott love the pens though hey !! ( the one the other year was great...lol ) . There is no ONE way to barrack for a club. We all bring something a little different. We also probably have differing expectations. I also am , fo rmine . a littel sick of someone, anyone telling me how or how not I should support this club. I do what suits me.. If it doesn t suit you...or you..or you..over there ..SHOVE IT !! Ive done my pennance..Ifolowed this team through a lot of thin with very little thick. But I do love dear Ol' Melbourne. if it disappears it wil have no one but itslef to blame.. not the supporters but the club. Like all adults the club must eventually take ownership of its malaise. We dont run it . it does. it makes some vey strange ( to me ) decisions. I think as a busines its a fairly bad role model of achievement, as a club its stoic. There inlays its problem.. its duality. It wants to be this "tradition' but its forgotten what that tradition was. We hang on to the fading rags of achieveent at all cost lest we too fade into the dirt. Its all very well to castigate the many for 'bitching" and I undestand the emotion attached. but its not our fault..I dount any of us here ever put on a Red and Blue in true anger and fought the good battle. We are "spectators" and by defintion we SPECTATE.. we wach.. we observe and from that comes commentary. AFL footy is no walk in the park, its business. Not necessarly the business of winning ( but that is the goal) its the buisness of remaining relevent to the competition. If we are to be so we need to change our modus operandi. Actually...I think we are..but like the shampoo it wont happen overnight. I think some serious gremlins have been isolated and ridded of. There needs to be more to come. The cold hard reality is we CANT comehere and discuss ad infinutm our glorious successes !! We're unable to recant how wonderful we are, instead like a starving third worlder we search and hunt for any morsil of salvation , any crumb of dignity within this competition. There arent many. So is this the fault of us.. the folk in hte grandstands ?? I cant really see how. At last it sems mediocrity before the field wont be accepted. How long before similar mediocrity ON the field wil be a thing of the past ? Premierships? be nice.. but not necessary as Ive lived all my barracking life without one.. so big deal. No..all I ask is this club takes it as seriously as we all seem to here. Actually ..that the players take it as seriously as we do.. They are the ones who's pretence at honour of jumper is supposedly worth something...then let them show me..Im calling the markers in.. I want something. I just want to be able to respect the team I barrack for...surely thats not too much to ask? And if they cant provide that..then they have my unreserved comtempt. The only thing I give unconditionally is love to my kids.. I give my friends my understanding... all others better have a case to show..

There are some Eisnteins here for sure !! Its a SUMMER ...read that SUMMER !!! training base... not Club headquarters !! we currently have...umm let me think...oh yeah NO Training base usuable in the off season. it will allow some consistentcy ( and boy we have that in spades huh ) Until we get our real ones.. and god knows when that might happen.. this ( Casey ) is a pretty fair fill in. Probably within our budget ( non existant that it is ) too.

ok....lesson 57 in the art of realistic compehension Garry ( thats two r's ) Lyon had an ailment.. He should not have travelled at all.. Wouldnt have mattered where as a ride agrevated teh problem.. not the destination !! aww poor diddums ..they cant travel for 3-4 hours a week ?? If they have injuries..the injuries need attention.. Where ever they are they wil have to travel. If playing/not playing comes down to 60-90 mins dif in a car..then we're seriously up sh!t creek !!
