For a bloke that really is all but still wet behind the ear footy wise he has shown remarkable compusure and application to the task. Just how far this "curve' will take him is yet to be determined. But I think we can be safe in thinking it wont be for the lack of trying. He has shown something when either no one really expected it..or thought we should. Has proved a bit of a surprise packet.. Another preseason and more games..he could end up one of the real surprise packages. Am keen to see his further progress in 09

Actually.. many kids barrack for teams for strange reasons.. Like said daughter.. deliberately picked the opposite..literally to what I follow.. initally as a joke...but is now settled into it.. And we know what we get settled into as kids..stays with us. I imagine its the delving into what makes kids tick that the MFC hope to do. Marvellous that they are already thinking outside the box.. Yes...kids like winners.. bit they are more likely to attach themsleves to where they fel lthey 'belong'...just like families. The world is full of Simpsons.. not all are winners. But Lisa wouldnt abandon her Dad any more than she would give up her sax ( thats SAX !! ). If I were the MFC...Id be looking for catalysts that initiate "belonging". Belonging is where you 'feel' you ought to be. Im glad to see the club looking at things this way.... its intelligent.. Cant say thats been the first word to jump out of my mind to describe the MFC for a long long while !!

OK...lets play glass half full glass half empty type semantics.. If he was playing to his ability...the ability to play to that is now not apparent. His new ability level is lower than it seemed..or was...or might have been !! Any which way...he aint doing what he did. He's a capable player with terrible disposal. Hard to know if thats an assett or a liability...in fact thats exactly what discussions about him revolve around!!

Yes..read all that...sounds a great initative. Thought about taking daughter 13 along..however she's already nixed that idea..Im StKilda Now Dady !! Ok.... if there are say three aspects to a player.. his ability to get it.. his decision making.. and disposal then its the latter two that for me are always the concern for Cam...His disposal MOST of the time is deplorable.... he's a @#!*% useless handball..and often undoes much good work by placing his so called footy mated into serious danger..as they say...with friends liek that!! He , to me , has never matched his stand out stellar year of a few back. In reality I think he simply played above himself that year and thats the cause of much constrenation as we have expected more.. He simply isnt capable of it. Have no doubt he seriously puts in...its his output thats debatable

I have to confess I dont mind ol' Wheats. !! He seems to have inched up his game a littlel this year and hopefully can refine it a bit more lext year along with simlar consitancy. I often feel Paul is let down by some of his fellow Dees when attempting to put the bal lto advantage.,..and they just dont get there. Dees face fight to axe Carroll 250,000 well saved...possibly Won't be without some consternation by many many parties. Could set a precedent !! Just think about what youhave written for a moment.. There ia absolutely NO GAURANTEE we willever see the Rivers of old.... We know Rivers WAS a gun...he's hardly been that in last 2 years... ..but lets all cross our fingers and toes hey !! he might come good...he might !! he might !! Yes..common sense suggests you redirect efforts and resources into growing some other talents ( players ) Gotta know when to holdem..know when to foldem!! Even if you really really really want something to happen.. sometimes it doesnt. Thats the dillema with Jared.. I .( again just me) would take what I could...( thats caleed realising value...even if littel ) and plow on. There are no guarantees about anything.. but as a business...and football IS a business..you have to minimise you exposure to risks...Jared is a Risk...thats justa reality. The interest ..or lack there of ..is as they pedominantly are pursuing a course of procurring players different to Brown.. Brown is a very poor choice as its most likely the clubs were somewhat off put by the 5 year deal and millions needed to procure.. wasnt an issue of talent. Again..this goes to..would they get a gig at thses clubs.. theyarent looking for this type.. nor likely anything we have.. especially as half of those proffered arnt fit enough to walk to the fridge half the time.!! reality check Rivers.. 6 seasons ..played 70 of a potential 132 games. Of course this was due to injury ( and result form ) But thats the whole point last two seasons.. 9 out of 44 Nobody wants to look at this.. its he's all class.. hes a great player..etc etc yadda yadda yada.. Yes he is.. and he doesnt get to the park !! which bit of this escapes peoples attention ?? Sorry..the all powerful caveat...but when he's fit !! ..Just when is that ?? I would like him in the 18 as much as any... if only trade him whilst we can. Its plain common sense. Hindsight will validate

Many ..many people are making the very big mistake of looking at a player in isolation.. Look at how they use what ever abilites and aplly them in a TEAM fashion..to ADVANTAGE..and do that week in week out. For the most part we played 2008 like a rabble..it got better.. but were still currently a rabble !!..maybe a rabble with potential and yes.. I dont think anyone at Melbourne would get a guernsey at either GFC or HFC..thats my opinion Those two teams played off in the Grand final because they were the best teams at applying themselves..all year..and the closeness of the final backs that up.. We finished 16th..lets not kid ourselves !!
