i'd second that .......certainly beneficial to us !!!
-
The important aspect and certainly encouraging result is that he hasnt gone backwards this year but made some determined progress. A similar step up next year could really see him "arrive" .
-
I agree this is the weakness in this scenario... however he ( Miller ) has been playing on a lot more this season ( when there..lol ) . Often in the past he has looked up to see nothing.. he hesitates.. he's done !! If he's intructed to waste no time what so ever...eye up best option as quickly as possible and play on if poss....there is potential in this. Watts-Jurrah...add in say Maric and one or two of a handful of other options and if delivered with confidence the defenders will have headaches.
-
What would you offer as a trade...out of curiosity ?..just play along.. Does it not occur that this is far more a damning comment as to the state of our team last year ?? Reality.. Brock McLean is a favourite son.. this doesnt always equate to realised potential etc. Many need to take off their parochially rose glasses and see some players for exactly as they are. Now...what he could be !!! well we'll just have to keep waiting again it seems. Personally im a bit over it....the waiting.

Have a bit of a soft spot for the Sainters.. plus daughter defected to them Am a bayside boy...bit hard to ignore them Kinda figure between the Sainters and the Dees I have my post mortality covered
-
Lovett... <...> Burgoyne.... plus details... becomes a workable swap for Essendond and Port. all of a sudden looks quite likely. fine by me...rather not have either
-
How exactly does having a contract preclude you from changing clubs ? If all parties are agreable ..done deal.
-
if Brad is still on the books come '10 then I would expecct him to be used ( as experimentation ) as a lead up half forward ( yes....again ).. . Here now things change as with Watts and Jurrah playing whatever roles on the forward line then Miller only really has to turn and put it into the danger zone. He ( BM ) doesnt need to concern himeslf with goals per se just delivering quickly into the forwards. . Possibly the rest best kept for the actual BM thread..lol Watts... will get better .,...and better ...and better with each game and each kilo and continued fitness. As the confidence grows down the sharp end so will the results

I do like the idea of a Demon... but surely we can do better than the current interpretation.. looks like a 70's reject !!
-
Lovett can be very hot and cold. Id rather his presence on the market precipitate the availability of another player rather than taking him.
-
Id say he's valued at exactly where he is at !! Its up to him to convince that we're wrong. He's back in the has potential brigade...and he shoud be much further along than that
-
He'll be a different lad next year He'll come along quite well and string better games together in '10.. 2011... look out

welcome to the foray Is always interesting to get local insight etc. Ive long ( well last few months ) suspected that Butcher struggles from too far out both in terms of ability to kick and just common footbal brains as to what to do with it on many occasions. Now kicking CAN be imnproved and to some degree disposals can be honed if the basic footy intel is there to be moulded but all this then says to me hes far more of a work-project than first considered. I8 at best.. definitely not #2 cheers Daz

Always fascinating to read the back stories Yes I can recall Diamond Jim.. quite the bit of hype without the 'r ball ( bole ) as I recall thanks again WJ. Am sure Barry will concur with you regards Pick 2
-
Boak for one...longer upside.. probably
-
not so fast..if Valenti was to remain he goes on the senior list... ..and we only have so many places for rookies etc. Not all cut and dried as some would have it
-
why not...their places..or potential places
-
no ones.. Hughes..likely gone.. Valenti...probably gone.. Robbo ..is gone ... Wheats.. Whelan.. thats 5.. Barts would be stiff to be the 6th
-
He may surprise some.. He will be totally focussed on Footy soon. He will apply himself and grow into the role next year. Ought to put on a pearler around the QBH im guessing !! :D
-
BArts will probably survive the cut as it isnt necessary to move him on this year. Thats more the case than why he ought to stay.
-
when Juice was re-signed... Jurrah and Watts werent a reality...they are now.. Newton is totally surplus to requirements. We have seen his upside and we are disappointed....next !!!!!!!
-
Melbourne would be squandering its shekels if it paid top dollar and picks for SB. Better value elsewhere. If he comes to us gratis ( relatively ) and for a reasonable pay-cheque via teh PSD then all well and good. . half our luck. ..oh...exactly who's managers ...and what sweet nothings ???? :D
-
Potentially he has the prospect ( and potential ) of taking over a Junior type role. He will need to become better poised and more of a clinical thinker and if so will be more than handy. He'll be kep in this light unless really needed as part of some convoluted deal to secure a gun.

2009 was always effectively going to be a forfeited year for Jack.. watch this space in 2010 however

Ok.. who can do what.. Lovett wants out.. he could be part of a trade to Port.. Ess Pick 26 and Lovett ?? Hawthorn... would they REALLY hand up 9 ?? ..doubt it..maybe 25, 57 and a player.. but 57 is worth sfa.. so what can the Sqawkeres come up with . We dont need to do anything really.. except cap him at 500000 and say. mate...youre in Melb at Melb..like it or lump it ..it you REALLY want to come to this town. Now...what deal does Port consider acceptable on a really really BAD day ??...as its that ..or nothing !!
