Income avergaing for special professoinals knock yourself out

yes and no... Sportsperson come under a different regime in terms of how they are treated by the ATO.. They effectively get to load share it over a number of years anyway ( thats hte simple explanation... takes pages otherwise..lol ) Front loading is more likely to affect the payee in this arangement. Keep in mind in a year or so we will need to start paying some of these kids a lot more than we are presently. I dont really see this great problem of salary cap attainment that others seem concerned with.

Can remember watching him in a few of the Zebby games and thinking...oh oh... .. a potential NQR here.. but hes really come on. Well done Frawley And I think he still has quite a bit of improvement yet. A rare highlight in the year.
-
damming isnt it !! You would have to think he's on the table ! I was quite inpressed in the manner he had applied himlelf and changed his game up some, but alas he as SW says just doesnt hurt the opposition where it counts....the scoreboard. A footy team at this level cant be a benevolent get together it must have teeth !! Prognosis re Miller cant be too healthy

certainly adds a new dimension to the goings on doesnt it !!

Melbourne-based clubs secure more money from MCG in new stadium deal
beelzebub replied to QueenC's topic in Melbourne Demons
short answer based on 2009 we had 10 home games at the G to which we would in 2010 terms be better off by at least 100000 per thats $1 Million add the 300000 from manuka a 1.3 off the bottom line as compared 1.1 if all at the G. are we that well off we can sneeze at 200000 ? Not next year I would suggest. However when all and sundry see us up and firing kicking goals then id be looking at all games at the G in '11 purely my view of course -

Dont we get something stupid like 300000 to play that Canbera game ? Wed be doing rather well to get that sort of money at the G ..new deal or not ...unless we put about 50000 bums on seats...and most not being members ( of anything ) -

The new-deal affects games hosted at the G.. This is not hosted at the G and is not affected. A totally separate arrangement. -
point taken.. But I think atm Bate has far more the body and maturity to hold down that role. If as you suggest Watts is the mobile-man then what of Bate...does he play some sort of fillup at FF ? Or are we still looking for this 'missing-link' KPP ? If Bate is not FF or CHF... then where ? or is he the new solid winger type ? one thing for sure..Bailey has quite a few options in rolling his dice

what is....IS He , McLean may be avery talented player.. but if hes unable to produce his best for any of a number of reasons than thats what results. Thats what we get. You canoffer up any number of reasons/excuses, they being extenuating or otherwise but if he cant play to his best level then why cant many acknowledge that as the reality we have. There is not a lost of sense in suggesting he 'may' be this...or he 'was' that... etc. If he is being crueled by injury then again, that is exaclty what we get, a player unable to perform at his best and ought we as a club be quite satisfied with that ? All the if-only's in the world dont a top midfielder make ! If he can overcome his ailments and get a good preseason under his belt and not only get back to somewhere near his previous but I should suggest surpass that then he will be invaluable. If he cant... he will be superceded. Thats life

it really opens up a can of worms all but as to what nature of forward line we really want to have. The traditional setup is all but dead.. You used to have positins..with asscoaited roles.. Now you have a much more organic team within a team type situation.. You need good talls and good smalls. basically three of each but they need to operate more as a cohesive mobile unit than a one dimensional semi-static setup. Yet pivotal to this is someone who not so much controls this but who can orchestrate play to suit. Thats todays CHF. Some who can play close to goal or lead up far depending on the nature of the game but bringing the rest of the forwards into the act.. Jurrah is actually very good at siting players and such. I dont see this so much as Watt's future. So in this definition I see Bate as a very good fit.

well if he has any real damage to his knee he WONT go to camp. He will still in all likelyhood come to us at ! so why risk anything.. I tend to side with those thinking he had a bit of a knock and was being mollycoddled for rest of game ( after it was in bag ) Hutchy ...wouldnt be able to resist it if there was any real legs to a Scully injury....hed have the #1 scoop of teh Draft all to himself. Far too tempting for a media limpet !!
-
Lets see..Im talking about Bate...in the Bate thread.. about being CHF.. Yes Bate can be a good lead up..thats the whole point.. he has the range and strength to hold down that KPP.. Wold be wasted I think at FF. ALl of the three Watts..Jurrah and Bate can play all over the place. This makes for a very mobile and hard to muster forward attack. But someone has to essentially make CHF there own and control that part of the ground. I think he , Bate , now has that maturity and footy sense to do it.
-
I would have thought there would have been every opportunity for Hutch to blindside Yeata with a " any thruth to the knee injury at quarter time ?" I didnt hear it..make of that whatever you wish
-
Who knows what really has transpired and been said at the Kennel ?? Everrit could simply be thinking he has limited opportunites out West..and maybe distant footy fields look greener !! time will tell...as always
-
like.... where do you think the impression came from !!
-
Its not a clear cut thing is it !! what might happen is that the big fish themselves havent changed much but the accompanying pick could. It changes the weight of balance within the footy dept's thinking. They had x. y. and z picks and were looking to grab an A B or C type player when now they have f.g. and z picks and now can possibly look at a D or F..or vice versa have to change tack because of now having lesser picks might look to another trade etc.. The Bigger trades can and often do have fall out attached. This is where life can get interesting in trade week...or die a death ( I appreciate )..Somehow I think this year will be quite active. Bris/Toiges have already all but traded.. Port HAS to trade, Dogs will probably also; more will follow after the GF. You can be sure many a FD are scribbling away with pencils and erasers ( or digital varieties thereof ) honing lists..and playing out possible scenarios
-
Id be quite happy if he becomes the CHF we're looking for. Where do others see him playing in the main ?
-
Lovett and #26 for Burgoyne I really cant see any team giving up a top 10 pick this year. Port to some degree have to take whats on offer. Lovett and 26 isnt that shabby.
-
his speed is very...very deceptive. Hes like a very fast cat . Doesnt run flat chat all the way..just pounces
-
Definitely got the impression from Yeata ( on TAC FS ) that he was literally putting Scully on ice that game. He's making sure hes in good knick for his ( TS) first pre-season with the DEES !!
-
In all seriouslness a new club may be just whjat Juice needs to revitalise his career. hes going to get less and less chance at anything at melbourne the way he's going and the way we're developing. The Pups might be able to cultivate him.. Eade is quite good at that.
-
An aspect of all this Burgoyne...Lovett type stuff that pleases me is the inference it has with respect to the Trade week as a whole. It gives it impetus and legs. it helps loosen th eclubs up for discussion leading to actual deals. Many deal are not oftern done in isolation causing picks to change and priorities and opportunites elsewhere to emerge. It all adds to the tree-shaking.... and as they say you just never know what might land at your feet
-
i'd second that .......certainly beneficial to us !!!
-
The important aspect and certainly encouraging result is that he hasnt gone backwards this year but made some determined progress. A similar step up next year could really see him "arrive" .
