bet you they do.. but why would they telegraph what they know and are doing to all and sundry ?? they are participant to a very difficult game called "keepings off ' !! MFC ( and rest ) will soon have trade week and the drafts to contend with. Quite a few teams immediate future and fortunes will ride upon the success or failure this year. There is no requisite to tell anyone what they are doing. Would you ?
-
you did understand the context of that day ?? Think maybe Russian was just helping Roo on his way.. after all he wasnt doing too well for most of it ..roo that is
-
This probably wont help you.lol The answer is in fact the question...l.e define best, what is best.... what is the criteria ? Only the club actually knows this...we're all just guessing

Melbourne to have new home in Docklands
beelzebub replied to titan_uranus's topic in Melbourne Demons
What they are proposing is a little like the Wees & Poos have at Waverley...just without the big stand. It will have associated facilities, profesional suites etc. and hopefully a decent cafe so the boys can continue with their Skinny Lattes !! -
Melbourne to have new home in Docklands

at 4 mill a pop the place will be a Versace Bidet !!! -
ok ill redefine... the figure is relatively current. Not so long ago it was 700 odd thousand..then it jumped back up most likely as another debt fell due. Interactive then in the sense that someone does a weekly or fortnightly update...i.e. as they did with membership but not as frequent

Yes we will be at Bubbledome until something better is sorted out, thats very much a marraige of convenience in my mind. Whilst arguably speculative at present it could grow legs. Given a few high profilers ( or wannabes ) are behind it together with genuine interst fromteh club it might just dovetail into that other project that the State Gov had in mind. Maybe given our age we could get a Heritage grant.. Been trying tolocate an artists impression..know one of the news had somethng last night that actually showed the ground in situ. anyone ? -
Imguesing to be truthful but I think the figure on the webswite is interactive.. I.e its showing the debt in real time. Thats how it looks to me
-
It has certainly proved dividends all this experimentation. How else might we have knownwhat some of these players can/cant do
-
I suggested pretty much the same elsewhere. I think if we get our two trumps with 1 and 2..get someone of ability with 18 and squirrel someone away from the PSd then I would have thought we had enough elbow rooom to take him ( Daw ) at 34. That might be overvaluing him somewhat But I think he has something. Definitely worth the punt.
-
for him...most likley. Richmond are heading for some pain. still I keep my bets to bottles of Port......ya just never know !!
-
why...do you rate them ? They are similar to Juice...NQR's in different guise. would have thought the Toiges inclined to keep....well.Hughes probably its al a bit of trash 'n'treasure really isn it
-
Of all our players Juice is one thatwouldnt surprise me the least if he was traded. There may well be interest from a team short on tall forward options wiling to take a punt. especially looking down the barrel of a shallow draft without a plethora of tall forwards. Newton has played at AFL level. This may garner him some brownie points for some teams......or it may not Its plausible he may go.

Melbourne to have new home in Docklands
beelzebub replied to titan_uranus's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes...so ?? Scwabby :"This opportunity would be a solution in the long term, as the project has a five to ten year time frame attached to it. This ground would provide a major community facility to residents of the Dockland’s area and would therefore further compliment the Club’s focus on integrating facilities and the communities in which they exist, such as the Club’s programs in the City of Casey." Of course we are still going to use Bubbledome ..but we arent committed there for ever. We still need somewhere in the interim should something like Docklands take off.. You have to look at the overall picture and the variosu timelines. Schwabby is on record as saying that MOPT doesnt preclude Melbourne exploring Docklands. Yes....and again thats what we need. ..isnt it ??? Its not meant as a stadium.. So your point would be ? double dipping ?? already covered this from :Demons looking into Docklands "Melbourne has been fragmented for years and years and (that) will improve significantly when our football operations move into the rectangular stadium," said Demons chief executive Cameron Schwab. "But we'll still have the rest of the office based out of the MCG, so we're still separated. "While we're really looking forward to it and we think it will be terrific, this is a unique opportunity to have a fully-integrated facility in the (Docklands) precinct. "It's the old Melbourne within the new Melbourne and it's something we're keen to explore." Melbourne have been in discussions for several months about the Docklands plans, but are mindful that it is a new venture. This is not some overnight whim or flight of fancy. Nothing about being at Bubbledome for say 5 or so years prevents us from doing Docklands.. Nothing about a secondary and primarily VFL focused facilty at Casey prevents us from doing Docklands. Yes out heart belongs to the G ..but where do you put the body ?? -
Syl..et all.. I hear you...but.. lets not focus on what our team is now...but on what it needs to be in 3-5. Rivers , I doubt will be up to speed then. He's already slower now than he was. Possibly a really...REALLY good preseason may see himcome back.. but Im not holding out. Been there too often now. Rivers ,like it or not is no Croad, Harley or Scarlett. Trade him while we can. Jamar may want to go. So many whispers and rumours...so littel real info on this. I would rather keep him also.

Melbourne-based clubs secure more money from MCG in new stadium deal
beelzebub replied to QueenC's topic in Melbourne Demons
ye of little faith.....we WILL be the block-buster games !! :D -
not touching that line !!
-
This year is going to be quite different. So many aspects. Many players culled....means many spots to be filled. Draft not deep enough to go around to do all of that for al lclubs required. Already some disgruntled players wanting futures elsewhere. The coaching merry go round will result in a very different view at some clubs as to lists. Its palpable...trade week will fire. Too much fuel , needs but one spark !!
-
maybe indeed.. but just in case a nice ripe'n one falls we better be alert and quick to catch it
-
ya werent paying atention then on Sunday..Id much rather Frawley on Roo than Riv Rivers was our best defender....thats the whole thrust of this...he was. That ship I feel has sailed. Others are overtaking him.
-
Im not sure if 8-bucks will do it..might have tooffer 10 ! Seriously though, we are in a position to haggle and deal and we should push it for all its worth. Ya just never know what may fall out if you shake that tree hard enough

Melbourne to have new home in Docklands
beelzebub replied to titan_uranus's topic in Melbourne Demons
Of all the various schemes and dreams to provide us with a complete , everything in one place home this is the most appealing and logically sound. it would dovetail beautifully with our efforts in Casey. A Melbourne team in Melbourne called Melbourne...just let them try to move us then
