  1. I might not have rushed both Taylor and Skipper out the door . Possibly retaing Wadw on a years basic last look type contract. Might have retained Moss for another year , see if he'd refind some earlier form. EOD Hawthorn can do what like. You'd think it lessens their options over next couple of years .. And they will be lean years !
  2. 007 , the club would be negligent not to cast an eye over Skipper. He has a far better all round game and overhead skills than PJ. Johnson mayor may not slightly edge him on pure tap skills but that'd be it.Skipper held his own and did reasonable service for Hawthorn something PJ can't. Unlike your utilities and such the availabty of ready made Rucks is small. I fully expect the FD to do it's diiligence even if you wouldn't. He'd be the first out of all that lot to land another gig.
  3. Peterson needs help in his life. We don't need to be the ones providing it. more effort than we can spare or would be worth . That amount of resources applied to others already on list will offer better dividends.. for us !! If we were to have an idle chat to anyone... maybe Skipper. PJ must be feeling nervous again lol
  4. Old, interesting view. E25 , tend to agree , just for mine could have been a little better. Seems to constrict themselves unecessarily. Still, their problem
  5. The argument is not about whether those particular 11 will ever feature in a Hawks tilt but more what could they expect to reap from picking up 11 ( or 10 if Tuck rookied ) fresh faced , wet behind the ears noobies from a compromised draft ? If you were bottom 4 and looking to do a major reno on your team it might bear the suffering but supposedly the Sqawkers arent! And why do it all in one hit ? If this years draft is bad the next two will be cruel. There would have surely been a reasonable argument to be made to temper this wholesale exchange for one which offered a little more depth insurance if only of an 'adequate' quality. Personally i really hope the hawks go a gutser on this and fall by the wayside
  6. cant remember who...on SEN this arvo ..on the Harf Hour mentioned hed be rookied. if hes not..hes not...then back to 11 !! lol
  7. irrelevant why..he will be. Do you have a source withing the hierachy of the club...or just your gut feeling there
  8. You might realise you need new tyres...but it pays to get to a tyre shop before jettisoning the old ones. Theres a lot of positions to fill.. and its recognised and not a buyers market at present...its not the what..its the when. 11's a lot thats all edit correct myself...10 when Tuck rookied
  9. or at least some other forum....only the religion called football is spoken here
  10. Tuck will be Rookied
  11. and youre going to replace then ALL in one hit...from a well thats half dry ?? Its not whether theyd warrant delisitng..but all in one go ?? Theres probably 2-3 that might have warranted another year. Quite frankly I dont really care...hope they come a cropper big time. The wholesale nature of it has caught many by surprise. Its arguable if Skipper was a real underperformer. Probably played pretty close to ability and the job given him. displaced because of Hale no doubt.
  12. It's a massive roll of the dice.. Funny timing :huh.:
  13. For a good reason ; frustrates many of us . For mine is slow to capitalize on his obvious talent and realize his abilty.
  14. Big clean out ; Sqawkers obviously to use all picks + psd . Massive call for them given the contrived draft . You'd think Skipper could get a game this year if halfway ok ... Simply can't be , most others either injury magnets or not up to the job . Mfc might talk to Wade I suspect as formality . Hawks wouldn't want to slip up huh !! Lol .. That'd be a damn shame
  15. Frawley Jurrah Scully Watts Trengove Grimes Petterd Gysberts Garland McKenzie raffle the rest lol
  16. The hawks are obviously letting this fine basket of goodies go for a reason !!! There all nqr ... I say pass
  17. So that's that !! And the search goes on
  18. All hysterics aside I don't think anyones really suggesting the Geelong of 2011 won't be competetive and a very good side but they simply won't be the Geelong of 2010 let alone 2009. Yep they finished second on the ladder but started to show tiredness into the finals . It's not scurrilous to suggest they've peaked. And that was the "tried and tested " side . That's gone, coaches gone ( can't see Sanderlands sticking around now) Golden child gone, and all the wholes old legs get older and slower. Less rotations now too . Will be interesting to see how Scott recasts the midfield and whether he leaves old dogs to old tricks or starts the revitalization process of injecting youth on a wholesale scale . You don't just go down the shop and buy the possessions Ablett got . That's abig hole and maybe even bigger than they really are prepared to concede . I don't agree with some pundits that his going only devalues the Cats by 3 or 4 % Very instrumental in so many forward thrusts . Many others looked better and walked taller with him in that side. Be curious to see a similar effect take hold possibly with GC . Chappy is very good but not in gods class. On his own will have more to do . I don't think his OLD mates will be the A Team in support they once were. Without GA to contain opposition teams can target Chappy. Might change dynamics considerably until some kids get up to speed. Mooney no longer the danger he was . Lost a yard easily. Scarlett still vg but how much can he shoulder and for how long ? Longs looking a bit lost at times . Seems to really play well when rest of team on song . Goes flat a bit these days . Selwood ? Vg .. Nuff said . Milburn and Wojo a bit lucky I think to have that gig next year. Off the bench boys. There is still much talent and class at Skilled but the makeup is bound to change. I don't think any team wil now enter onto Kardinia with awe any more. Geelong is just another vg side and no longer the feared mighty Cats.
  19. Careful there E25 not top 4 ? evade !! Entirely agree 5-7 (likely) the other ingredient are the other top 4 contenders. Well take the filth as a given .I'd put Saints Pups Dockers and Sqawkers right in the mix. Don't see the Cats now as an auto select above any of them. Be interesting to see if West stays now
  20. Besides us , many positions left ? What was Sandersons main priority at the Cattery ?
  21. Perth is another planet though !!
  22. good way to back an argument..very sloppy. Two distinct things.. You unable to distinguish ? Youre welcome to your view. Top4 for geelong in 2011 fine. I say no.
  23. How can he KNOW the reality... its all supposition and spin. He can sell an idea.... but theres nothing to back it just yet. What was...was. What will be..is arbitrary. Just a smidge of 'reality' snuck in when he suggested there was still much work to do. He knows he be a mug to put either the left or right on the chopping block just yet but hes towing the 'party' line> All good feely feely good stuff for the choir.
  24. Yeah.... apparently Brad and a few of the boys are looking to improve their backhands and net game !!
  25. I may be mistaken..you know..it does happen. ( and to us all ) Sadly ?? why ? Here he is..rolled out...first day on the job. Any of us could have written his script. Predictable and unbackable at the TAB. That was a lovely little piece of cake served up the the Cat-Lovers. All fluff. What was it if not selling ?
