Something I struggle with in respect to this is who (other club) would in all reality offer Bruce better terms ?seems to me he's on the verge of shooting himself in the foot !

I think many need to ask a simple question . Are we perfectly capable of playing decent footy without Bruce ? For mine it's a Yes. He's no Ablett, he not a Goodes, probably better than handy but as much a liability with the ball as he is an asset man on man so that's a leveler. We can certainly use him but we don't NEED him. He got away with murder last contract and seems to be using that as a yardstick. Good on him for wanting a buck, fair enough but stop thinking you're worth what you were, you're worth what the club is prepared to pay. Wake up to yourself Cam, we are !

As an aside I wonder if the draw has possibly changed the view of some as to where we might finish . Might warrant a new thread and poll perhaps but for mine the 2011 cements inky mind well be active in September and not just making up the numbers. Has anyone revised ( upwards) their expectations having reviewed the draw ?

WYL I actually think that secretly the AFL would love the Dees to get back amongst the thick of it . They laid down the challenge to us some years back and not only did we not capitulate but we are thriving from the challenge to reassert our club back where it belongs ; preeminent in the minds of all Melbournians not just Dees fans . They I think want us to be successful as it will be good for the game . This draw certainly makes it easier rather than harder .

Well I reckon with all the flack the Filth will recieve we might just sneak under the radar a bit with this fixture. As many more sage types will suggest there is NO perfect draw anymore , so you hope for the next best and I see 2011 as a very playable year . Must admit would have liked to play the Maggies twice and they are probably reieved not to have to . 3 Fridays is a big step up and acknowledgement of where we are and where were going . Also dispels the myth we don't go to our games . Much prefer to open against Sydney at home than the Sqawkers too . A real chance to go 1-0 from the opening ... Bodes well looks good for 2011 already

What I'm learning more and more each day is that this club is now being run by people not only have a clear vision but the belief and cohunas to see it through , that means sticking to your guns. . No tgheres nothing wrong with th eClub lookiing after the welfare of ITS players and putting whatever resources to bear. But why on earth would you take on someone elses problem ?? I like RR see this as a football club first and a sanitorium last. If whatever efforts that some would have us put into someone like Peterson imagins the same results put into players without his situation. You climb by taking sure steps .. Not a running leap ! Gawn is years away, Pj a known entity and not up to it . Spencer might start filliing some boots this year .. Might!! So yes we might actually need a stop gap as insurance.that's the whole point. We looked at Hale, indeed wanted him, talked to West , to no avail . So why not keep looking ? The club obviously doesn't have a great faith in PJ . As he IS there so he by default becomes the comparison.
