  1. given our track record Id settle for , most of them prett yright and at least one spot on ( other than Viney..a given ) we have to do a lot lot better than weve done, but it would be a tall ask to get it perfect.....still....
  2. why is it I can hear Terry Jones voice resonating in my head
  3. Id be suprised if only one club. He had tochange his game markedly when unable to contain the opponent directly, for as you say he'd run oof of Riv.Im happy to trust Neeldy. if he thinks Jared has a role going forward and worth keeping. Thats obviously fine. If MN doesnt and JR moves on, then best of luck mate. Im not one to say hes a must keep. ( I dont think I ever have been..lol)
  4. for the last time ( crossed fingers and toes )
  5. It is rather amusing in a fashion that RB opens with "I don't pretend to speak on Liam's behalf, but"....... then precedes to. I understand all of what he says and there is some weight to it but at the same time whilst I understand people are people I look at all this from the clubs perspective and I think weve been somewhat diddled. I commend the club for its actions and stoic stance. Im very disappointed in theother party(s) in all of this. I do remember earlier in all this that He ( LJ ) was happy enough to appear on telly ( not iin MFC attire, as would be the norm ) with another Clubs president , even before informing his own club and procede with his 'take on things" So again he cant afford the club the courtesy of even a public thankyou ??? Paint this any way you like . Ill happily concede hes a bloke with serious problems; some of his making, others not. I think Im like many. I wont hold a person to judgement on what they cant control but i will talke note of what they CAN. I harbour no grudge against him. Im tempted to pity him , but I wont. I'm really at the point where its yesterdays news. I think the club ought to have been publicly thanked by the person concerned. The club went the extra mile and a few more through all of this.. The club was encouraged to respect his situation, but I dont see it coming back. And in all honesty I can live without some one coming on here and " I don't pretend to speak on Liam's behalf, but"..... Its hypocritical.
  6. Emphasis on 'many' old !!! lol I still think most will be across the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Im still not even sure how many each club gets . Im sure we'll find out soon enough.
  7. I reckon he's probably scared some of the exit-types away from the club. ( thanks btw ) MC ...."See boys, this is how you train, this is how you apply yourself, this is 100% effort, this is belief in the Coach " others.... " f*#k !! Ive got to do that, all the time ? .......let me out of here !!! "
  8. yep...going to be interesting but I cant see the AFL handing out very many 1st rounders. More likely the 2nd round will get rather crowded with compo picks...thats my guess
  9. well..stay at ahome ? often cruises up the wing to pick up a stray incoming or creat an option. Quite a smart player really. Id much rather him ( QL ) than TC as I think the pairing with Mitch would be much better. Wouldnt get in each others way and cough, did I mention save a forturne. I reckon a 2 year deal might interest him Like Mitch hes a very good grab. Mids etc knowing that the chances of their forward 50 thrusts coming off might make them a littel more confident about the path taken. Put a lot of pressure on backs. I wouldnt mind him. Obviously Collingwood concur...but hey..what would they know
  10. its actually his forte, more so now. Always rated him as a very good reader of the ball. He started coming unstuck when he lost yeards with OP. Not sure how much of that pace hes really got back. Many forwards can run of of him now so he uses the 'read' more and more playing off of them trying to negate the ball in flight.Has a good defensive side ( ethic ) but has on many occasions , lets be kind, unter-utilised the ball in disposal. id still prefer his as a 3rd up back rather than as forward but that I think was more a case of invention ue to neccessity, certainly not a preference for the selection panel. Given the size ofthe exodus Id be inclined to want to keep him. Neeld set him tasks and to his credit he passed muster. I agreee with those who think he'll be weighing up finals v time left . Id probably prefer to keep him but not distressed if he want to fulfil his ambition elsewhere. Despite many misgivings Ill give him that hes been a good servant of the club. bit of a 50/50 one for me
  11. Hes dithering... not sure if hes bought it in !!
  12. join your mateNeeld has three years. Get used to it. To remove Neeld beofre the 3rd would be like considering aborting a takeoff rolling from V1 to V2. Not a happy endiing !!....that and plain stupid. The board know its a job that takes a time, the time they have agrred to to allow Neeld to shape a future is 3 years. Thats how long he will have. If after this time we arent heading down the right path Im sure Mark would be the first to pack his bags.
  13. context is a wonderful thing RhinoThe originating comment made mention that Morton was a Bailey era pickup not Danihers This is so. Its irrelevent to this that CAC was there. The poster was differentiating between Coaches
  14. doing nothing gaurantees the continuance of the status quo.... Coles bells a'ringing !! Not up up
  15. Well all i hear in my head atm is the old adage....youre either with me or agin me. You dont wont an army with any discontents. There is no halfway about this. Its like death and pregnancy: you either are or youre not. You either buy into Neeld or you dont as a player. Those on the fence wil be pushed to see which side they grab. Im all for holding the door open personally.
  16. Daniher was gone by the draft. Bailey was at the helm.
  17. the steps..of course
  18. whilst it might seem that way I was simply making sure this is indeed what the clubs been doing.simply that
  19. A few ?? Yep..a few safe journeys mate
  20. more than footy ? Yes there is cheers
  21. HG....if you are able. Is it fair to say that the clubs been scouring far and wide, long and hard building up a picture of whos out there . And that ther'yve been doing this since the FD/recruiting team was formed ? I.e anticipating the holes in the list ?
  22. Very insightful. You're spot on here i feel. This is EXACTLY what Neeld will be doing. Take what he can use, throw away the rest, bring in the supplementary /complementary players to suit the roles as they are deemed.
  23. Yep...well done Tommy. A great year. Hopefully a portend of an even better 2013
