About the only thing I can summise that we all might agree upon is that an In-form, fit and hungry JG would be an assett to the side. What we'll never align on perhaps is the how or when , or indeed if , of that. Gotta love footy and forums...lol

oh goody...lets collect everyone pardon my sarcasm but what does this bloke bring that we dont already have ?

im not convinced the Lions will part with 33 for Martin, just my guts talking though -
Stuie, if hes been marked "keep -for now" then great . I actually believe and trust this mob ( aka as the MFC -FD ) have an idea about what they are doing. I do also think they are refining it as they go. This would be perfectly normal mo for any reasonably intelligent outfit.JG does have 'something' . He has to bring it. Only he can do that. its not actually up to the coaches to pry it out of him, they just provide the car and roads...he has to drive. Theres a certain irony to all this. If the many of us thought he had nothing then hed both be gone and forgotten already. Hes on the list. it will be interesting. I damn sure neeld isnt interested the slightest in Talk, only the Walk. JG had better get going

All bow to Can "Einstein" Mooney. He needs to get all his ducks in a row I would suggest before commenting. Hes getting things half right wrt to us. -
Everyone at the club gets paid a lot of money to do their respective jobs. i CAN see Neeld doing his, ive seen little in terms of results for JG having done his. Take the emotion out of it Stuie..theyre all just widgets..like it or not, thats all they are, parts of a puzzle. he might be a mate of yours and thats fine but it has absolutely nothing to do with how or why a player ought to be regarded. There is only ONE....ONE barometer at the end of the day and thats results. Everyone at the club will live or fall by them and so far Jordans got sfa runs on the board. All the ability and potential in the world means bugger all if you cant translate it. I for one and sick and tired of this club hanging on to nqrs, wannabes and those with boundless potential just in case one day they MIGHT step up.. its the clubs business and right to make a call on players and if they have made it already on Jordan then so be it; either way. He goes or he stays and works his butt off. I dont care. My only wish is for a successful team. I could care neither who plays or who coaches. There is only room for X number of players. Thats made up of est players , those in the system trying to become est and those new to the ranks. Theres always to be a balance and comings and goings. MN has shown by his targeting of types that hes only interested in solid bodied players with good skills, good thinking and above all else a second to none work ethic and desire to be the best, for themselves and for the jumper they wear. Some players may well look back one day and rue their lost opportunity at Melbourne. Time will soon tell if one will be Jordan

the only thing holding this up , Pedersen to Dees , is the Roos having some ridiculous idea that hes worth a much higher pick ( to us ) and in so forward that pick on to Port as part of the Ben Jacobs deal. Who gives a flying proverbial or cares about North ffs. personally I reckon the Roos are dreaming...isnt that right Dale !! -

I really just don't get the fuss about this kid, he reminds me of Dexys Midnight Runners! ( some of you might struggle with that, others get it in a flash....c'mon )

LH I'm not sure about needing to target others too much though I'm sure the FD have ideas/options as much as I surmise they are just sitting and waiting now. All the big moves we wanted are in the bag. I'm sure we'd like both Ray and Pedersen for their role-playing but we don't need to cow-tail to either the Sinners or the Roos. We CAN walk away. I'd be letting them both know, yeah.....be nice, but we don't have to. Both StKilda and Nth must garner some picks in order to facilitate much of their desired trades and in Nths case moving on a player they don't want. I'd wait and let the bastards squirm. Don't buckle now MFC , they'll both deal and on much more reasoned terms once they see the clock ticking !!!!!!!! -
49 for Ray, 63 for Pedersen. Nth need a bit of a ROOd awakening as to realistic values !!

A demonland thread sidetracked ? Never happens -
alas Yorrick..lol The plain reality of that summation Nut will be lost on some. So many live in that ethereal land called "POTENTIAL " that they cane see the forrest for the trees. Many forget that in the conversion of Potential to Kinetic many factors are at play and may devalue the end result dramatically...i.e K=LFx P where LF = life factors. ow LF in some dramatically increase the nett result..ending with a very competent player. In others you end up with an NQR. Sometimes you get exactly what you see.. I rather like that description : Very athletic Gumby..lol

The very definition of speculation is to take what you do know and extrapolate into extended areas. Dawes's ability to kick goals this season was hampered by two things.. recovering from injury and being played as much in the ruck as much as a forward. Despite this he still manages 16. Humour me. 2010 20 games for 30 goals. @ 1.5/game 2011 18 games for 27 goals @ 1.5/ game 2012 23 games for 16 goals but ought to factor in approx ( for sake of argument ) 50% penalty for other duties. We could theorise @ approx 1.4 /game therefore. Thats fairly consistent despite injury and played oop. why is it so unrealistic to suppose therefore 22 games in red and blue @1.5 for 33 goals ?? i reckon thats exactly what he'll do...30-33 goals in 13...all things being equal -
rumour floating.. martin to Lions for 33 just a rumour

cheersyeah..the Filth is an interesting topic. Anything they select is a likely year or two away from breaking into a side, and that is fine in itself but hardly anything to get too excited or cocky over. Seems we're damned if we do ..or dont. if we dont acknowledge our shortcoming and address these needs so as to be able to be competitive then we're foolish and doomed to permanent cellar dwelling. If we continue to play kiddie lotto for ever more then w'ere certainties to be cellar dwellers. I seriously think the biggest error the like of the Denhams of this world make is that they actually think they are right and others should follow their lead.. Quite plainly he's an agenda driven zealot who's blinkered to the realities that surround him. Whilst the Doggies are in a slightly different position they I feel have baulked at the opportunity to strengthen their list meaningfully. The kennel is a little bit awash with doo-doos id suggest .The'yll struggle without any meaningful injection of ability. A lot of fluff and stuff eminating from the pooch pound and I think much of the reason to a change of guard is that they know theyre going nowhere fast. Groundhog year for them id say. Still interesting that Stevens nominated them as a club of choice. But who knows for what reasons..lol Still matters not really what the hacks think.
