If i had to choose one deal over the other.. Id go for Ray. This may well end up being all we get. However Pedersen would fit it well. Id like to get both. Pedersen and Martin are DIFFERENT types, thats the whole rationale about who and what we want. Why do so many either miss this, ignore it or fail to grasp. Pedersen can do some of what martin does and some. Martin can do very little of what Pedersen can...thats the kapowee factor !!

We have to accept also there will be some players that whilst capable are just not a fit for the current mould. It's nota social club it a working environment. Because Martin is doing precisely what for us ?Just for a moment disregard any preconceived notions. What roles can either do, and what roles do we require filling. Short answer is we don't have a lot of work for a super Gumby ruck type that gets lost in traffic but we do have a vacancy for a solid running back who can switch forward. It's all all about role playing. We don't actually NEED Martin, not in the current design of our team.

Yep, everyone can circle their respective preys prior to the official start and then get stuck into it. Knowing you might have endless days (daze) to accomplish whatever might both expedite matters as well as forcing some reality checks upon the parties as to 'real world' worth !

What I see as flawed in the views of some media types as well as general supporters is the pseudo fixed valuations of some players. It's essentially the same as money (currencies) used to operate. They were invariably fixed to this or that one. Then all other countries' worth was tethered. Compare to now where they float and can be volatile. Something out of favour diminishes very quickly. The player trade market is no different. It's all relative. At least with currencies you can buy or sell whatever you have, with player trading you have to work to the nearest pick that YOU have available. This is what throws the market even more askew. This is also why multi club multi player deals sometimes result as clubs try to realign the values with the picks avail. The other thing of note is picks aren't able to be stored ( generally) they have a once only use by tag. So you just have to make the best fist of your needs v their needs using what you have. Sometimes dovetailing is impossible and you just have to cobble together a deal that's close and all can live with. But the hacks want to apply their arbitrary rule of value. That's why they're hacks and team professionals aren't.

Don't count on that 3rd rounders is all Weagles likely to cough up.Folks you have to quit with the " he was ab4 pick" etc. it's like buying a car , drops value the second you've picked them. It's all relative. A market value is resultant upon what anyone wants to pay, whether that's housing, cars or even footy players. Be nice to get their 41 but doubt they'll cough that. I seriously think many teams just have to realise that with so many teams, so many compo picks that they just need to adjust. Of course o one really wants to do that , they know it, just want the others to, not themselves lol

Itll be very 11th hour with much hand wringing unless sense wins out , yeah ... I know. The market hath spoken... but few are listening.
