  1. We had an off night last night. Brayshaw started well but they were able to do something to nullify him. Oliver was off for the first time I have seen, I hope it is not because of the shoulders. Viney and Jones clearly were not fit to play. Not everyone can be Dermott Brereton and we weren't playing in a grand final. Just rest them until they are ready. It's round 1 why did we jab jones to the point he couldn't even catch it? In a close game, we want to win early in the season to get momentum, why were we playing Weid in the ruck and Petracca at his feet? Unless we are waiting for our odds to blow out for the premiership, to pay for the end of season trip it is madness. It is very unusual for me to criticise a coach but that was [censored]. Weid is hopeless overhead but great below his shoulder line for his size. Max Gawn began like that so there is hope. Petracca cannot start in any ball up in the centre. He is hopeless at it. It is even worse when Weid loses the tap and it goes to the opposition advantage. Please Goodwin when considering rotations do not allow the worst combination to come on together. ie. Weid in ruck Petracca with him waiting fir it. We have Brayshaw, Viney and Oliver who see ball get ball. Petracca cannot. Harmes can see it, get it and defend. Petracca cannot. If I see Petracca in the centre at a ball up again I will spew. He has strengths and if he becomes a legend of the club, like I hope he will, a big strength with be, outside play and converting shots on goal. But at the moment he can't covert a goal from a set shot. Despite his strength he will never be someone who uses it to advantage. He is more Jack Watts that Dustin Martin.
  2. Bring him straight in for Weid.
  3. Dom Tyson - desperately needed yesterday
  4. ProDee you wont get much love around here promoting facts. And I'll cop that myself when I bagged Weid in a post on the main forum because I perceived he was a poor contested mark. You came back with an evidence based response showing his stats and in that area they were above average. Appreciate the logic and evidence provided but we will argue about that in another thread. I still disagree. Fukishima was a wild like saving gift that as you say probably never killed a sole. How many birds have been saved because there was a nuclear plant on the foreshore at Fukushima and not an 18th century technology, giant blade in the sky that chops up wild life? The danger to wild life is only important to leftists if it can be used as a tool to prevent capitalist projects. When I was a kid growing up (no where near early enough to see our last premiership) I used to watch solar car races on tv, promoted by the universities and it was fascinating. Solar was the future. The technology was leading to further and further distances being able to be travelled (raced) by vehicles. I was a massive believer. I loved the races and different shapes of the vehicles to try and maximise the sun power they could achieve. 20 years on solar has proven to be a lemon. Technology in general has improved exponentially. What computers, mobile phones, GPS and the like have done over that period have changed our lifestyle. Solar was the rising star, had all the funding, was a more understood technology and it has barely improved. The technology in my oven, couch and fridge has improved more than solar over the period. A major problem with western society is the lefties are so desperate for capitalism to fail, they stymie the technology that can advance us as humans and a healthy planet, under the guise of environmentalism.
  5. With no evidence or inside knowledge but 10 years of solid observation jones was jabbed left, right and centre to get on the field today. His coordination suffered.
  6. Just switch the [censored] footy.for some reason we kick down the line every time. We have Brayshaw, Oliver and Viney who are more likely to win posseession and get it more often than whoever they oppose. But when we switch we create options. keep them guessing.
  7. Drop: Weid never ever play Petracca in the centre when Weid is ruck. Neither can play that role. They are both talented but hopeless.
  8. Barayahaw first q Melksham Fritch i won’t hear a bad word about jones who should not have played. Numbing the limbs of a bloke who should not have played is stupid. He was there body but not Co-ordination
  9. Why we think we can play weid in the ruck and Petracca on the ball is beyond me. t
  10. I think getting him back later has been. I don’t think the similarity with Croad has.
  11. I know both well enough to say their issues are / were near identical.
  12. I’m still angry they changed the centre bounce rule so Jeff White couldn’t get a run up and became ineffective. I’m also angry Brent Moloney got suspended for not even touching his opponent. i hold grudges.
  13. I had Richmond dropping this season and were betting on them missing the top 4. If Rance goes down with an acl I call they will miss the 8.
  14. Let me be first to call a Trent Croad like trade. We will take Jesse back and he probably needs to come back for his health. We will get him back for nothing. He has a support network within and outside the footy club. Croad had similar talent / issues to Hogan.
  15. Watts will smash us. A gifted player who will have to induce more Gatorade than coke this preseason after his public calling out. He will be sharp.
  16. I’ve been looking at that as well GWS @ $18 worth taking and Dees. Don’t back us early though. We are too injured and will start slowly.
  17. We managed without Lever after Lever played about 6 games for us and we wern’t Coming off a premiership where Lever was integral. Richmond are [censored] without Rance.
  18. I never wish an injury on anyone. And I mean never. Michael Long or Dipper after the brutal devastation they inflicted on our players I will boo and hate but wish them good health. The interesting thing with Rance tonight is MELBOURNE are in a red hot premiership window and Richmond is a main contender. Richmond without Rance are not the same threat. Wish him well but make no mistake it is in the MFC interest it is an acl.
  19. Maybe too difficult for you to understand. Risk mitigation is very complex and a risk assessment that doesn’t work out, doesn’t mean the decision was wrong. Lots of people thought Brayshaw should not have played again and he has since come 3rd in the Brownlow. The club assessed the risk and decided it would be safe for him to play on. At this stage it looks a wise decision. If he copped a freak knock to the head that ended his career people like you would look at the outcome and decide we got it wrong rather than the process which we seem to have got right.
  20. When has that ever been a pre-requisite for posting on here? sometimes I don’t even watch the 2 minute highlight package of our new recruits before I judge them.
  21. I’m staggered the club let Angus Brayshaw play on after all those concussions. One bump can be another concussion in a single Moment. Risk assessment isn’t an exact science you need expertise, an understanding of previous similar risks and luck.
  22. Our list manager seems to be more concerned about moving on our players with drug habits at the moment.
  23. Outside of Trengove I can honestly say I rated him highest.
  24. TMac isn’t that important while our gane plan is chaotic. He is a focal point no doubt but I don’t rate any forward in the top 5. If Petracca could use his freight train speed to mow the opposition down he would be a chance. He’d need to convert more goals as well. Weid would need to learn how to position himself and take an overhead mark. Defence is the the best form of attack and we have that.
  25. I’ve been writing on demoland since we almost merged with Hawthorn. I’ve been pretty accurate over the journey. I posted everyone should back Oliver at 50-1 to get most Brownlow votes for Melbourne 2 seasons back when he did. I’ve since been banned from crownbet. I hope I am caught out on this one but I think Weid is a bust.
