  1. Spot on re GWS recruiting - it's been dubbed 'cluster' recruiting. I hope it ends up being an absolute clusterf... for them!
  2. choco williams and blair hartley, primarily, with troy chaplin also there.
  3. That's fantastic. He's a really good guy. Hope he gets another crack at the AFL.
  4. Clark would still be our highest paid player I'd wager. $600k is more the mark, the equivalent of Davey and Rodan.
  5. Just like Buddy and Swan were about to be banned for three strikes, right?
  6. More pertinently they have Choco Williams and Blair Hartley.
  7. a lot of the media stuff re martin is a complete beat-up.
  8. would definitely make our side. but i've heard he's off to tigerland.
  9. pick 2 and 20 for martin and 12. get it DONE.
  10. He's not after $700k. Tigers have low balled him, offering around $480k, only $30k more than see on now. Lions have already tabled a 4 year $650k deal.
  11. Pick 2 and 20 for Martin and pick 12. Do it, Demons.
  12. pretty much. it'll be interesting to see what the approach is with jolly, jamar, gawn, and spencer all on the list together.
  13. i'm personally hoping it's scott burns. he always looked far better in red and blue playing for the mighty legs than he ever did in black and white for the filth. time to show his heart beats true! (plus i always thought he was a terrific player.)
  14. Add those four to Nath Jones, Viney, Sylvia, Matt Jones, and hopefully emerging players like Toumpas, Kent, et al then all of a sudden we will have a midfield that is somewhat competitive.
  15. No, back to the beloved bosom of Mick at the Blues on a big, big money deal for 4-5 years.
  16. Rawlings, I like, so unless he wants to be the senior assistant... Which I wouldn't be opposed to. But my guess is Scott Burns for that one.
  17. Mathews on abc grandstand currently. Going to be a line coach for us after being development coach at GC17. Has been blown away by the enthusiasm Roos is showing for the role - compared him to an 18 year old arriving at an AFL club for the first time. Very impressive as you'd expect from someone who has previously been a commentator. Kennelly effusive in his praise for Roos, but no, he's not taking a role at the Dees.
  18. the biggest mistake with byrnes was taking him as a free agent, rather than waiting for him to become a delisted free agent. it grossly effected our compensation for losing two genuine free agents, rather than for a bloke who was about to get dropped from his then-club's list regardless.
  19. don't need to pay anything like that for him dee man; he's a restricted free agent. just gotta outbid the pies (and blues, clearly).
  20. also, wines is nothing like rich or palmer in terms of stature - he's actually tall, more like a josh kennedy, or dustin martin in terms of height, around 188-190. jimmy is a 'small' midfielder by comparison, around the 178-180cm mark.
  21. Chris Johnson, son of Alan, was another player who didn't make it. Bailey chucked a wobbly at him on the training track when he announced he was off to Carlton as well, I think?
  22. No, somebody Moore?
  23. Roos is getting the old band back together! Everyone rates this guy. We're also into another ex Swan who's now at North.
  24. Would waltz into our best 22. He's always been fairly durable too, I think?
