  1. Footscray will be hoping he slips down the pecking order.
  2. aish should be a top three pick. it'll just depend upon where we finish as to whether or not we have first dibs at him. he's a gun.
  3. Campaign by other clubs has begun in earnest on today's radio broadcasts - every club person I've ears about us is arguing that we don't deserve one. Gonna be interesting to see how this plays out.
  4. Semantics. Deserve, require, are deserving of - it all comes down to seven consecutive years of abject on-field failure. The AFL Commission has made a rod for its own back by not codifying what 'earns' qualification status for a priority pick. If seven consecutive years rooted in the bottom half of the ladder doesn't qualify for a pick, then what does? A Richmond-esque 10 years? If so we could be back begging in three years time!
  5. Seven years of abject failure with a winning percentage of less than 23% would be, I would have thought, the very definition of a side that's deserving of a priority pick.
  6. That bottom feeder Damien Barrett is very confident we will NOT get a priority pick.
  7. i agree with up thread - if we don't get a priority pick now, no club ever should. seven years of abject failure and a current winning game percentage lower than 23%.
  8. Sad to say I tipped Dees for bottom three with about 4-6 wins. Even that looks like a stretch. Tipped Cats for the premiership, but to play off against Eagles. Tipped Crows to fall.
  9. Its not bad recruiting - it is woeful development. He has the sort of skills that every side would crave in a bloke of his size. His lack of effort remains - lack of intensity at the ball and the man. When he goes to tackle he just sticks an arm out as a bloke runs part. Parkin on abc made particular note of it at one stage, effectively saying he won't be regarded well by coaches until he shows some effort and intensity at times and in situations like that. My biggest complaint remains his sheer inability through desire to impact the contest. He looks so very, very lazy.
  10. We will know more once the div 1 sides start playing against one another. At the moment it's near professionals up against amateurs.
  11. white was traded for pick #2 of the 97 draft, which was on-traded to the tigers, who selected brad ottens.
  12. Geelong will be chasing hard. As they always do for their local products. God, can you imagine that? They keep rolling, Stephen Wells has been amazing for that side.
  13. go get him. psd #1 (or #2). make it happen demons.
  14. He's the youngest player in the SA squad by a couple of months. It's not much but it does indicate that he might have a bit of talent to mix it with those who are a few years older.
  15. wants the job. (well, probably just wants headlines / publicity.)
  16. Coach no, footy dept manager yea. Same goes for Balme.
  17. yup, we're 15 goals off losing by under a goal!
  18. Would love him in the red and blue but don't think it'll happen - it'll be purple and white.
  19. All we need is one to fall thru to the PSD. Adams would be just about our best mid.
  20. am i in 2011 - watts, scully, gysberts, morton, petterd? or 2007 - mclean, sylvia, bate, dunn, bell?
  21. remove sylvia from your 'core' list and you have my list, spirit. possibly replace tapscott with terlich as well to be honest - terlich has shown more in 4 or so games than tappy has shown in 4 years unfortunately. the list remains missing midfielders either way. we need a bona fide star or three to be at the club in 2014, be they free agents or draftees.
  22. another. absolute procession. the r2 losing margin could be dwarfed today.
