i think he offers a lot more as a rebounding defender in 2024 than he ever did as a forward in 2022-23 he didn't apply enough defensive pressure last few seasons his overlap run and ability to impact in the air and at ground level as a defender is really encouraging if one of bowey, salem, or rivers was to be unavailable you would expect he'd be in line for a debut
-
didn't nicks get a new deal at the start of the season? their form away from the adelaide oval and without tex is a massive issue for his job security their forward structure is really missing thilthorpe
-
their forward line is built around ground level smalls providing ground pressure - moore, ginnivan - plus an aging breust and gunston, and a spare parts option in chol they've got a gun father-son in dear for the future tho really, the best tall forwards come out of the first round, academy, or father-son selections
-
he's never forgiven max for "that's ruck craft, big boi"
-
i personally think amw offers a lot more coming off half back than he did in previous seasons as a forward when deployed as a forward he never applied anywhere enough defensive pressure at least as a half back rebounder he's providing plenty of overlap run
-
they've run away with it again casey seems to bring 15 mins of effort and then drop off markedly in the back half of quarters
-
amw with a slips catch on half back, jefferson marks on the edge of the 50, hits fullarton in the pocket...goal he's a pre-season away from being able to play a key forward role at afl level, but jefferson shows a heap of promise
-
that was appalling defensive work from casey, again tom freeman swore he touched it but it looked like it bounced over his head, pitched in the square, turned right, and trundled thru for kyle weightman's third goal casey doesn't apply pressure consistently enough for long enough
-
laurie is terrible defensively - one armed half hearted tackle 'attempts'
-
dale weightman's son goals from a pretty soft free i thought
-
liam podhajski is looking great in the ruck for them tall and strong and very good at ground level
-
neocleus reduces the margin to 9 points amw and howes working together nicely defensively this quarter, chaining it out of defensive positions and either one or the other gets the clearing kick forward
-
szybkowski with a big bomb from 50 for a goal this is very much the case at this stage jefferson showing a lot as the primary forward
-
shocking kick from howes gives up a goal coming out of d50
-
jefferson fantastic work to bust thru a tackle, burn off his oppo....and sprayed the shot
-
jefferson busy i50 but his field kicking has twice let him down - checkside on the right cos he's got no left foot was particularly poor
-
pretty sure he's billeted with tholstrup, at a director's house hopefully he debuts soon not gonna help the complete lack of midfield depth at casey tho
-
are any of them drafted to an interstate club playing this weekend?
-
literally got drafted three days ago, from wa - has he even moved across yet? tholstrup loves a tackle; means he's second to the ball a lot
-
wind pushing it right to left something chronic
-
el jeffe hits the scoreboard early lovely set shot
-
essentially what cal seems to be saying here is that petracca is a superstar no matter where he plays? captain obvious called! this whole 'we should play trac forward all the time' theory is NEVER going to happen; he's one of the most dynamic players in the game, and he goes where he's needed at any time, be that running thru the midfield or stationed forward he's a gun, and one of the most 'personable' players in the competition to boot
-
yet i STILL can't get thru their lobby when i try and buy tickets
-
confirmed ruled out concussed? they've said nothing on c7 commentary as yet
-
i thought they boo'd o'donnell cos him being a dark hair tall bloke marking it
