  1. yeah his article and assumptions etc. were fine, albeit the notion of a 'tight' salary cap in the afl isn't a thing
  2. i love that the likes of michael gleeson say this there is NO SUCH THING as a 'tight' salary cap in the afl because it is a hard cap; teams must spend 100% of the cap over, from memory, a rolling 6 year period the lowest a club can pay per annum towards their salary cap is - or was - 92.5% and the highest was 110% per year it's not like the nba or what have you where the cap is $156m but the likes of the washington wizards choose to pay 71% of the cap while the golden state warriors choose to pay 130% of the cap and, effectively, pay more than that as they cop a 1:1 'tax' on top of the extra salary that they pay what is called the luxury tax
  3. he'd be lachie whitfield
  4. i'd be tipping: dogs crom? bears? puddy tatts flagmantle them? baggers obviously i'd love it if we could flip our result, as well as if meth coke, kangas, and meth coke could all get up
  5. https://www.afl.com.au/news/1341745 deal happened...in fremantle love it
  6. so harley as ceo in waiting and pridham likely to be the new chairman bloods' culture...
  7. he's such a moron
  8. we actually don't in comparison with other clubs jake niall's series of articles for ninefax about the heavy hitters and big money movers and shakers at other clubs as well as ours was eye-opening - our supporters don't stay wealthy by giving away their money compared to the likes of peptides, the filth, or even footscray, let alone the baggers
  9. billy stretch was another player whose application of effort to the 'little things' was superb i think that it's fair to say it requires more than just that to convert the desire and want to be an afl player to actually, well, actually making it as an afl player
  10. another player that was never the same after moving to flagmantle
  11. she'll be joining the david neitz academy by then
  12. cos you'll always gotta throw an 'extras' in - like how flagmantle supporters thought they were going to get koz for two first rounders + wafl-level player (i.e. there's little doubt that the deal won't happen, or at least not for that 'value')
  13. 2026, 2027 first rounders + woey 2.0 make it happen, tim lamb
  14. he's more like dangerfield, petracca, martin in that he's a threat both thru the midfield and up forward such a valuable player
  15. not necessarily may retires end of 2026, gawn and viney end of 2027 or 28. who knows about lever, salary cap is constantly going up and up...
  16. aaaaaaaaaaaaaand ignore on
  17. great stuff
  18. things i didn't expect to see... kornes SUPPORTS (sort of) the deal!
  19. shift their payments to asa components, and promote gold coast as a 'destination' they're certainly going to want to trade 'out' of their top pick in 2025, if not 2026, plus the longer it goes the more likely it is that matt rowell is on his way to the puddy tatts or the filth
  20. i think it's fairly well known that these contract estimates are just that - wild estimates i remember gus and gawny used to just laugh at the estimates that the little paper would run with; always said 'i wish i was earning that!' i think there's a big difference between 'capacity to earn' and 'actually earn'
  21. fabulous that she and erin phillips were straight in, and together in the same year it really does feel like they were the doyens of aflw, and daisy's hall of fame elevation were much-deserved
  22. the mrc sounds like absolute chaos https://www.theage.com.au/sport/racing/best-to-move-on-melbourne-racing-club-s-shock-call-to-remove-ceo-20250609-p5m62y.html
  23. was is the hall of fame? demonland should definitely be straight in upon eligibility requirements being met
  24. Who are they open to trading? Fogarty? Thilthorpe?
