if people named their sources, then they wouldn't be sources any more. i've not heard anything like that, but i've watched us for a long time and the biggest issue still comes down to skills - our are deplorable, and have been for as long as i can remember. even when we were up and about under daniher we were very reliant upon the likes of johnstone and yze as they could actually hit targets. so many of our players simply can't do it by foot. when we're also horrible on transition from attack to defence and vice-versa, we're already putting ourselves on the backfoot. we don't play risky football because we can't - we can't execute it. we play a congested game of football but unfortunately we're not all that great at it either. i don't know where we're at at the moment, as it's far too early in the season to tell. i think we'll get an idea after the tigers game, but i'm pretty worried that we're going nowhere fast - i expect north to smash us, but we should be around the pies and the tigers, who've also looks deplorable so far this year. if we're a long way off both those sides in the coming weeks, then we're in big, big trouble.

anb also hit the scoreboard in 2015 when stationed forward. three goals vs geelong in that win down there, 2 in a loss to meth coke, and a single against north.
-
No ANB? Roos made a special mention in the interview re rewarding form at Casey. What a joke.
-
wagner in = end of grimes career in the red and the blue? did not see that coming at all. for what it's worth, i think north are very, very good and we will get belted this weekend.
-
Lachie Neale has just put off contract talks too for what it's worth.

So if Giants beat Cats and Cats beat Hawks and Dees beat Giants and Bombers beat Dees...Essendon for premiers?
-
Agree 100%. Our club is just a disaster zone of ineptitude.
-
No one who is talented and serious about success would entertain coming to Melbourne. We remain as much of a joke as we were pre-Roos. Prestia is more likely to go to Essendon than he is to come to Melbourne.
-
I would do: Out: Garland, Lumumba, Kent, Bugg In: Dunn, Frost, Stretch, ANB Harmes super lucky to survive the chop; I actually think he'll go and H will survive cos he's Roos' golden ticket holder. B: Jetta - Dunn - Frost HB: Salem - T McDonald - Lumumba C: Tyson - N Jones - Neal-Bullen HF: Watts - Pedersen - Kennedy F: vandenBurg - Hogan - Garlett Foll: Gawn - Vince - Viney I/c: Brayshaw - Oliver - Stretch - M Jones To be quite frank we're shuffling deckchairs - North will slaughter us next week.

I said we could win 6 games and be a 'better' side than 2015. At this stage...not a chance. We were horrible and Bradbury'd it last week, we were horrible last week and lost this week by a couple to a bunch of kids and geriatrics, and it should've been 6+ goals. I said at the start of the year I expected to finish 12th - which would make the trade for picks with gc17 a break even based upon points. But I can't seem us finishing outside bottom four based on the first two weeks.

Casey Scorpions Off Season News
whatwhat say what replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Based on what you saw, who would be in the frame for elevation next week? -
The coaching was pathetic. All game we allowed them to have free runners off half back. It was appalling coaching not to close that down the entire game.
-
unfortunately, i totally tipped it. if daniher had kicked straight it would've been a 6+ goal loss. must be dropped: garland, lumumba, kent, harmes would be close to being dropped: hogan, salem, tyson, t mcdonald, bugg

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 2
whatwhat say what replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
6 - kennedy 5 - garlett 4 - n jones 3 - vince 2 - m jones 1 - tyson and tyson, m jones, vince, and n jones offered NOTHING in terms of impact on the play. they were all very poor today other than kennedy and to a lesser extent garlett. -
Out coached, outplayed, outwitted. Just a disgrace of a football side.

We are lucky not to be 4-5 goals down. I was expecting a close loss but I think it could blow out to 6+ goal Essendon win. Theyre slicing us apart from half back and winning all the contested ball through the middle.
-
The amount of space and run they can execute off half back on is appalling. no pressure.
-
We are gutless under a scintilla of pressure.
-
How are we so continually poor? This is just embarrassing.

i'm sailing the sea of terror of losing. 7.13.55 to 10.3.63 with daniher booting 5 straight, including 3 from outside 50. i can just see it happening and it scares the bejesus out of me.

If we lose to Essendon I will....

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY

alongside kent, garlett, and to a lesser degree harmes, he provides genuine frontal pressure. the more we have doing so in our front half, the better. at one stage, he was touted as a likely top 5 pick in his draft year because of his ability at underage level to run and carry, and do something useful with the pill. i remember watching his underage year and he, grundy and toumpas were the classiest players from south australia by far. hopefully he continues along the path he's on now to becoming a regular afl player. -
exact same as watts. however, he is under contract - but all contracts for the 12 still-at-essendon players can effectively be considered null and void as a result of the suspensions.

Dom Tyson has to be dropped (Rd 1)
whatwhat say what replied to Dees2014's topic in Melbourne Demons
he wasn't as bad as people are making out, and the stats bear that out. according to them, he went at just on 70% disposal efficiency. better than bugg, pedersen, viney, frost, vandenberg and o-mac. equal third for contested possessions for us alongside vdb, and third for clearances.
