  1. this is why touk miller is one of their best players!
  2. i think so offers outside run and carry plus better-than-most ball usage
  3. interesting that if you use the draft pick value calculator on the bare bones of the trade (i.e. not factoring in the compo picks that pushed the picks backwards) then we actually look to have paid more for melksham melksham trade: pick 25 hibberd trade: hibberd and 59 for 29 and 68, valuing hibberd at pick 34 currently our second round pick is #20 is langdon 'worth' a pick 20? if you split the difference btw melksham and hibberd and say he's worth around a pick 30 or so the biggest issue with this is freo have just TWO PICKS with draft value indication currently - pick 8 and 26, then nothing til about pick 80 or so - and we don't have much further down on our draft list to 'equal' it out either, just pick 38 and 57 be interesting to see how it plays out
  4. if they were with us this year, they would both have played key roles i think both players would be be a walk-up start for us for several years to come that being said, i wouldn't think we'd be able to get both - it's one or the other
  5. yet this is an incredibly feasible scenario we get pick 2, we hold it; we get pick 3, it is heading somewhere else i really hope we get back into the first round somehow
  6. remember when wayne jackson, as ceo of the afl, sang along with gusto in the freo team huddle after one of their victories? this is same thing - gil's barracking moment for his pet project i certainly don't remember anyone urging any of our wantaway players when we were deplorable to 'stick fat with the dees'
  7. i understand why richo is being talked of - worked with both mahoney and burgess at port, plus with pert at the pies - but i would love some ip from clarkson's cluster of coaches to come in in an ideal world it's either cam bruce or, preferably, adem yze, joining our coaching panel this year bolton would be another 'senior' option in lieu of richardson, and also has worked successfully under clarkson's stewardship
  8. he's my preferred free agent for the end of the year, ahead of tomlinson tiggas offer is reportedly significantly under expectations i am, as per every player ever, presuming he'll go to hawthorn* *unless they're originally vic country, in which case they go to geelong
  9. it's not just caroline wilson saying it, fwiw the preference of the family is that the king brothers don't play together what's the bet he ends up at the hawks, sigh........
  10. hasn't this been a known known for some time? i'm sure it was mentioned mid-year that jennings was goneski at the end of the year it's like the mccartney news rooke will be the next to confirm an exit
  11. i'm gonna go with...five
  12. as a matter of interest, how many afl-listed players (senior, rookie, plus cat b) did the filth have running around?
  13. pert on 3aw was also very much of the opinion that it won't help them compared our worst 5 years when we applied for one and got rejected vs their last five years; they were clearly ahead of games won clubs will be arguing against it, but i think it's a moot point - they'll get one
  14. from my understanding, knowing someone who has had dealings with him, none he works his backside off but he's had a rotten run with injury and he's got extrezzo frustrated and doesn't know how to deal with it i am really hopeful for his sake that he can come back at a club - i'd love for it to be with us, but i think he's a big risk from a management perspective
  15. our defensive pressure has dropped right off
  16. brilliant by may again, as always, can't fault our endeavour
  17. GW$ are dropping right off in terms of the quality of their playing list Their premiership window might well be shut
  18. Manuka Very different sort of snow at Metricon on the Gold Coast Mumford is in his element
  19. if he leaves - and it's a big if - he will headed to gw$ from all reports i don't see why he'd come to us; he doesn't really play forward very well
