  1. i have always heard that the afl hierarchy was more focused on expansion rather than contraction i personally can't see the new northern franchises disappearing, which means it's the small vic clubs which are under pressure: north, saints, footscray, and us are the obvious low hanging fruit fingers crossed we survive any impending cull
  2. tom morris reckons that the hawks are 2 years plus a trigger for a third, whereas ours is a straight up three year offer - although i thought there was some speculation that third year was a combo of playing / coaching
  3. love nev is he in our best 22? i doubt whether he'd be in the filth's best 22?
  4. yeah, if those happen i will be highly impressed by the afl's predictive powers
  5. quite the contrary, i think - gus believes he's an a-grader and doesn't need to do the hard work to remain at that status
  6. Did he have a Goodwin?
  7. a premiership a brownlow medallist (trac, oliver, gawn) seeing us winning at the g
  8. what noted carlton nuffie riley beveridge actually said in the video is that he thinks that while they'd love to land an oliver type, he thinks they have capacity to add a player at the level of the next tier down
  9. watts was dropped to the vfl / sanfl by every senior coach he had he wasn't good enough move on
  10. scharenberg will go to the crows as dfa they almost traded their own first rounder for him a couple of seasons back
  11. hawks' mate tells me that they apparently don't offer anything more than two years to any player who is over 30 years old he thinks they're nuts - reckons smith is easily still in their best handful of players and given his skillset they should fight tooth and nail to keep him
  12. big thing that favours brown as a modern key forward over t mac is his height and reach - he's got a solid 2-3 inches of height, plus brown is one of those forward who marks the ball at the top of his reach in terms of who i'd prefer as our key forward going forward, my vote definitely goes to brown
  13. no, soz, i meant $200k each year across the two years looks like he's definitely on the move; going to be interesting to see where and what salary we carry
  14. on which side of the ledger?
  15. popcorn gif definitely required for the peptides this offseason
  16. gary buckenera on polec's value: Polec is an interesting situation. He’s on a good contract so that complicates things. If I was list manager I would want to keep him. But if Rhyce Shaw wants him out and a club is willing to pay his whole wage, then the Kangaroos will basically trade him for nothing. In other words, a salary dump. If the Kangaroos still pay some of his wage, then a pick around 40 would be a decent deal. This is how poor list decisions hurt. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/north-melbourne/gary-buckenara-analyses-north-melbournes-list-after-the-2020-season/news-story/f9bfc2ff465f22c084771f6d11d48a70
  17. gary buckenera on brown's value: Brown is on the table and the Kangaroos will be lucky to get a top-25 pick for him after what’s occurred. Clubs will see an opportunity to get him cheaply, although I believe he’s worth a top-25 pick. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/teams/north-melbourne/gary-buckenara-analyses-north-melbournes-list-after-the-2020-season/news-story/f9bfc2ff465f22c084771f6d11d48a70
  18. i wouldn't have thought langdon was on anything close to $700k a year yes still way cheaper than hill - and a far better year, too - but that would put him in our to handful of players in the herald-sun's made-up salary thingo he wasn't listed, i don't seem to remember?
  19. straight swap for brayshaw?
  20. smith is a 'costless' pick up this season - if he joins us, it's as a free agent, thus not weakening our draft positioning one iota
  21. melbourne's hollywood pin-up picked us so she gets my vote
