  1. based on how rusty and then exhausted the peptides looked last night after one game in three months, i don't hold out a huge amount of hope tbh cats by 42
  2. or we could pay significant coin to a player who, on a reduced list of 35, has shown zero ability to get on the park for the last two years i still think he's headed north
  3. fogarty just did his shoulder unfortunately he might be another in a long list of player's whose body is simply not made for the rigours of afl-level football
  4. how is he different to the weed tho? good tall at junior level who at senior level isn't mobile enough, skilled enough, hard enough, so basically has to be the part time forward / ruck role
  5. pass for mine
  6. he's also a free agent, so it's out of our hands to a greater / lesser degree
  7. it's literally two games into the season so a titch early in this crazy year but this is the sort of stuff i love pondering...so i'll play firstly, i would rather get hogan back than daniher - at least one of them can get on the park, even if he looked horrible tonight who has potential value and best 22 possibilities at other clubs but MIGHT be excess on our list? i'd say there's only a few players that have genuine value on our list that i would be comfortable parting with: viney (free agency compensation) brayshaw preuss (crazy that he has value, but ruckmen always seem to find a home) hunt anb personally i would say it's either viney OR brayshaw as inside mids, and hunt OR anb as forward options who needs inside mids? carlton, essendon, fremantle, geelong (regeneration), saints maybe brayshaw, ollie wines, the crouch bros. could all be inside mids looking for new homes in 2021 - get a first rounder for gus from any of the above clubs and my jaw would hit the ground; i struggle with what he's worth cos sometimes he plays and i think he's worth less than a third rounder on the trade table who needs small pressure forwards? well, pretty much anyone other than st. kilda and the tigers, who seem to have a heap of small forward types, want depth in this position and hunt has a real bonus of speed in his arsenal given that anb is an sa boy, i personally think he'd slot in nicely at the crows - if we could engineer it to get rory laird as part of the deal i'd be pretty pleased...it would be interesting if the crows demanded anb and sparrow for laird, which i'd be somewhat tempted to do tbh, but the reality is i think they think laird's worth a first round pick...so...... who needs a ruck, or at least a second option? essendon, maybe sydney with naismith doing another acl, but other than that there might not be much demand for one this year we traded tyson for preuss and a late pick (which we used to draft hore, who - you never know - pies might want to bring him home as an intercept half back next year as coverage for howe), so it's not likely he has much value - we might do preuss and our second rounder for essendon's second rounder, say, or perhaps preuss and brayshaw for essendon's first rounder, which we use get laird? meanwhile, hore and our third rounder for the filth's second rounder? net result: IN: laird, 2020 2nd round draft pick OUT: brayshaw, preuss, hore it all comes down to list changes, but if say it is suddenly 35 on the list and only having to use two picks at the 2020 draft, i'd go with the following list changes: Jones - retirement Hibberd - retirement / delisted Kolodjashnij - retirement / negotiated payout Nietschke - retired / delisted Baker - delisted Chandler - delisted C Wagner - delisted J Wagner - delisted Dunkley - delisted it's going to be pretty brutal if it's a reduction to 35 on the list (worse still if we have to carry kk) and i don't think any of the above would have much value to any other clubs it's possible the likes of weideman or o mac might have value at the trade table...but for what? if you only have to use the two picks this year, you'd want it to be a future pick, and i don't think either is worth much more than a speculative third rounder...at best i can't see either having much value for other clubs - if they can't make our side, not sure whose they would be making - so they might both prefer to stay with us and fight for their spot, plus of the two only o mac is out of contract at the end of 2020 anyway 35 players really doesn't seem like enough to get through a full 22 game, 120 min per game season to me, but if the above happened this would be the mfc 2021 list: May Salem Harmes Jackson Viney Lever Spargo Gawn Bedford Oliver Langdon Bennell Melksham Hannan Tomlinson vandenBerg Jordon Rivers T McDonald Weideman O McDonald Hunt Neal-Bullen Fritsch Sparrow Petty Pickett Brown Jetta Lockhart Smith Bradtke Laird 2020 2nd round pick 2020 2nd round pick (the filth's) possible side, based on what we're putting out vs geelong and what we ran with against carlton... B: Lockhart - May - Smith HB: Salem - Lever - Harmes C : Langdon - Petracca - Laird HF: Hannan - T Mac - Melksham F: Hunt - Fritsch - Pickett Foll: Gawn - Oliver - Viney I/c: Jackson - Bennell - Tomlinson - vandenBerg Emerg: Sparrow - Weideman - ANB - Jetta
  8. we literally beat the blues last time we played them was that one very long 50m penalty or a very short 2x 50m penalties? i thought maybe betts gave another away for chatting back to the maggot
  9. more likely their p-33
  10. peptides vs carltank is one of the worst games in football since melbourne were at their worst and we beat the peppies thanks to salem's goal bad, bad footy
  11. gc17 look super
  12. free agent, no need for trade; we'd just need to show him the money still reckon he's northern states bound and on uncontracted players i'd say: Bedford - 50/50 Fritsch - Keep Hibberd - 50/50 Hannan - Keep Hore - 50/50 Hunt - likely keep Jones - Retire Jordan - Keep OMac - likely keep Nietschke - gone Petty - Likely keep Smith - Keep J.Wagner - Gone Sparrow - likely Keep Spargo - 50/50 Viney - likely keep* *he's a free agent so the decision is out of our hands to a greater lesser degree i know he's apparently contracted til the end of 2021, but you can't see kk staying on a reduced list of 35 players
  13. i know this tune!
  14. is this more a case of pear looking awesome or meth coke looking atrocious?
  15. would do that
  16. i can't imagine being any less frustrated with miller's appalling disposal now as i was then
  17. not true according to all reports from both within and outside the club - where on earth did you 'learn' that? dunno how else you expect players to be selected other than based on on training / intraclub form as we've played two games in three months
  18. our first rounder in 2021 MIGHT get it done but, then again, essendon would demand that PLUS petracca actually, tbh, the peptides reputation as being difficult to deal with is somewhat unfounded; for the most part they get their deals done as well as anyone else, and often more efficiently than the likes of fremantle for instance to be honest the one i'd look at as a runner from half-back at the end of this season is rory laird
  19. everyone knows that those with napoleon complexes make the best coaches!
  20. moved up to sydney to be closer to his kids can't see it happening
  21. i wish we could watch these zoom calls
  22. collingwood have advertising above their number on the back of their guernsey - are they the first club to have two sponsors on the back of jumper? i know clubs are allowed to do it, but i thought it was existing boj sponsor getting double exposure, where's pies have cgu on front and cgu and emirates on back now
  23. super congested and contested low scoring suits the filth, but it keeps the oppo in the game...see also last year's prelim
  24. wow, i wouldn't - salem is among a host of our players who only works hard one way if we're going to persist with this foolhardy shift to the backline, i might be tempted to give harmes the gig - he's disciplined enough and can go with baby jesus when he rolls up to the contest - but my preference is obviously for him to play on dangerfield wherever he goes as a hard tag in midfield or as a defensive stopper when he rotates forward in saying that, if harmes is part of the midfield, perhaps salem is the man?? perhaps he'll respond to being set an actual defensive role i can completely understand why we're going with this forward line - it's essentially the filth and (pre-lynch) tigers model but i just don't think we have the midfield who will work hard enough both ways to make it work the thing about both richmond and collingwood is that at their best they are SUPER disciplined and have an incredible defensive mindset even when we were up and rolling in 2018 i am not sure how good we were defensively, so it's a bit of a risk such is life i guess - ultimately it ain't my job on the line!
  25. i wonder if the racial attack has had any effect on nev? i'm sure he'll be back they're placing a lot of faith in a very inexperienced defence - smith, lockhart and rivers would barely have a season's worth of game experience
