  1. and they're going to be older next year when they add higgins and potentially goldstein to their list
  2. that is, indeed, fab news https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/822596/rivers-extends-until-2023
  3. strengths: reading the play kicking fitness weaknesses: strength in the contest ground level game he's a classic 'good ordinary' player and i could definitely see him going somewhere else, playing for a further seven or so seasons and 120 games, getting up to that 200 mark he's not a gamebreaker but he's an honest battler
  4. the club the taxpayer pays for, at both state and federal level
  5. fully engorged and he stands erect under the high balls
  6. cos frost wanted $1.2m over two years smith costs minimum chips both not much chop
  7. smells a bit like ratten coming in as assistant to richardson last year at the aints; you just knew that if richo didn't deliver the good in the first half of the year ratts would get a go in 2020 and beyond
  8. evens out when compared to 'the bont' and other familiarisations
  9. leppitsch on the radio last nite said that he was stepping away from football entirely for the time being
  10. nice! tight game but lacklustre on the box; how is it at the ground?
  11. nothing like the same level of intensity of the other two finals games so far
  12. ....or christian petracca or clayton oliver we have the top level talent on our list; can we get the c-graders up to play like b-graders (see 2018) and the footy dept. to put the pieces in place to get the best out of the whole group?
  13. i don't get the love for him he ended 2019 playing in the vfl; i'm not convinced he's good enough for afl level tbh same is true of smith, of course...plus a whole heap more
  14. i understand his deal last year with hawks was a three year deal - his hawthorn contract states that he can only leave there if the job is a higher position; that’s why he couldn’t come last year as an assistant however, i am presuming everything is different in a post-covid world, and contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on
  15. get him in now and he's in prime position to step into the main coaching role
  16. excellent listen it's such a shame we got him closer to retirement age than wanting to really get down into the nitty gritty of being a ceo of a football club again as he's exactly the type of person you want in the role
  17. doesn't he??!? cracking first half of footy
  18. burgess seems totally invested in the club and the players based on the footage we have seen of him involved with the club - such as is in the video series about the pre-season (take 1, not take 2)
  19. it's not in that articles, it's the general 'vibe' from what is being discussed...allegedly
  20. nothing concrete in that story at all the general vibe around the trips seems to be mahoney, plapp, and probably matthews go, with richardson moving into mahoney's role i've not heard anything re chaplin and, quite frankly, our defence was strong this year so i'd be hesitant to shake things up enormously back there no idea re who they're looking at replacements in the coaching ranks
  21. wow, really? i had not heard that that's barely a change at all compared to what was being predicted throughout the home and away year
  22. just signed a new one-year deal! his time is now...
  23. it'll be interesting to see what gw$ do with all of cameron (presuming he stays), himmelberg, finlayson, and riccardi being tall yet they're not really 'power' forwards but they're more mobile forwards - and they all want to play that same role finlayson extended his deal, can't see them moving riccardi on, cameron has been one of the best forwards in the game for the last half of the decade...
  24. good luck to him; he's good enough to play a role for an afl club for at least another contract, if not a couple
