  1. at some stage all our hyphens will play in the afl and amz to anb to jvr to goal will be a commentator's tongue-twister
  2. yeah think i was a bit harsh on baker since noticing how everyone else's disposal is arguably worse breeze definitely playing tricks with kicks
  3. if baker could hit the side of the barn door he'd be a decent player
  4. not a club; they're a franchise sole (soul?) purpose to to have 2 teams in the brisbane market and bolster the broadcast rights deal accordingly
  5. i wish nothing more than mid-table mediocrity upon them
  6. yeah i saw that too and thought 'mcg screen definitely said 39k' crowd was right on my expectation but on the train coming in on the caulfield line i must admit i was thinking it could push 50k - definitely the squishiest train ride to the the footy this season so far
  7. alice doesn't have the taxing humidity of cairns or darwin
  8. he's replaced eddie betts as the most universally respected and admired and genuinely liked player in the game
  9. i don't think we acknowledge often enough that gawn, oliver and petracca are three of the greatest demon players in the last 50+ years gawn is a brilliant player and an outstanding leader
  10. like most, i can't see anb coming up the others are advantaged by going thru their mandatory quarantine period and being able to get a training session plus a captain's run in before the aints game IN: jackson, sparrow, petty, pickett OUT: melksham, weideman, dunstan, smith
  11. 6: gawn 5: oliver 4: brown 3: petracca 2: viney 1: bowey
  12. aints are gonna be knackered next week
  13. gw$ doing a number on the crom
  14. we're all missing the point that he's not even their #1 target this is the second time in a contract year that they've chased tim english
  15. milkshake loves playing against the hawks that goal from the centre square clearance in the final in 2018 is seared into my brain
  16. meth coke have a long and proud history - they only ever fall down intermittently to the bottom, raid vic teams and pick the eyes out of drafts, and bounce back quickly their midfield is looking VERY slow these days
  17. meth coke just seem to be lacking any intensity this season
  18. last year i was really hoping that the peptides would continue to play parish across half-forward so that he'd want to leave at the end of the year, and that taylor etc. would've been all over him he's a very good midfielder imo but he's a 'third' mid - a la viney for us - not a star like oliver or petracca, and at the moment he's the #1 mid in his team's side
  19. all the sa and wa players copping it now
  20. the filth = collingwood figjam = buckley
  21. brenton sanderson's strategy on sen: play two rucks, have one 'tag' steven may to stop him playing his intercept game tag petracca play your six forwards rather than rolling one up to stoppages high pressure forward approach so you can't go 'too tall' (which seems to contradict his first point) one mid rolls back to play a 'back 7' embrace 'chaos football' basically says every team needs to go AGAINST their own game plan in order to beat us said that we're ahead of the pack, then the bears, then a crop of 5-6 teams
  22. we are so locked in to our habits - notice my complete surprise when may DOESN'T go long to the edge of the square - that it's stopping us doing what we do regularly really well that is one of the hardest things for an oppo team to stop the real key i think is fast ball movement and constant run; it's why adelaide was able to beat us last year as they handballed THROUGH us but if a side doesn't 'click' and is able to execute that strategy for a full quarter for four quarters then we are able to turn over and then we're ballistic when we roll forward anyone who tries to 'chip' around us - as per how tigers tried on the weekend, and port as well - is putting themselves into our hands
  23. tom scully - as opposed to tom $cully - looks a likely tall forward prospect out of west adelaide 26 goals in 5 games in the sanfl underage comp this year
