paul amy with a piece on ricky mentha... https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/draft/gippsland-powers-ricky-mentha-on-verge-of-realising-afl-dream-with-melbourne/news-story/5263544c5e169d41dbb28dd5ceba0743 Gippsland Power dasher Ricky Mentha took a shine to “Kozzy’’ Pickett when he trained with Melbourne briefly last year. Now the AFL draft aspirant is on the brink of being handed a chance to unite with Pickett and the Demons and live an AFL dream he formed in Alice Springs. In what would be a historic move for the Demons, they are considering taking their Next Generation Academy member as a Category B rookie after watching his progress with Gippsland Power in the Coates Talent League in the past two years. Mentha, 18, is from Alice Springs (part of Melbourne’s zone), where he represented the NT in under-age football and basketball. Melbourne recruiting boss Jason Taylor first saw Mentha playing barefoot in an eight-a-side football game on a ground the size of a soccer pitch.- Welcome to Demonland: Harry Sharp

i imagine kako has shot up the draft reckoning because the value of 'speed and pressure' forwards has gone up more and more in the last few years and he appears to be the top player of that type available in this draft cohort- Training Ground?
this is such a nothing article...it starts off with as 'doubts about mfc and caulfield' then dovetails into petracca and oliver... https://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/doubt-over-melbourne-fcs-ambitious-100m-caulfield-plan/news-story/b83805aecaa41ff7d9f20995604f2c4c Melbourne Football Club’s plans to move to Caulfield racecourse have hit a hurdle, with the racing club looking to protect the “interests of racing”. The ambitious plan to move the football club from its Casey fields training base has been hailed as a signature of CEO Gary Pert’s tenure at the Demons. The new training and administration buildings, two football ovals and a multi-use sporting field were expected to cost up to $100 million. But there are now questions being raised about the plans, with the Melbourne Racing Club in turmoil in recent weeks following the departure of chief executive Josh Blanksby and chair Matt Cain. It’s understood that Melbourne’s plans to use the inside of Caulfield racecourse, including a pavilion, have not been signed off by the new MRC board, which was taken over by rebel challenger John Kanga.- Dan Houston
fith don't want a first round pick in 2025 - they have thomas mcguane coming through as a father-son and he is almost certain to be nominated as a first-round pick- The Draft Pick Upgrade Thread
i don't think they were 'looked after' any more than what we were when frawley left arguably, battle's contract is probably bigger than chip's was, and he was younger when he left his first team gonna be interesting to see how dingley re-tools their defence with battle and barras likely to come in to it- 2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
if we rate kako as the best player at pick #6, then might as well nominate him and force the peptides to pay, as their good fortune in the change to the nga academy came conveniently when they stood to benefit this would mean we'd take finn o'sullivan if that pick thus pushes back one spot there really doesn't appear to be any consensus on the first round this year, whereas in other years it's all been more firm - and all the afl media scribes have wildly fluctuating predictions on who might go where almost like they (shock! horror!!) don't know the inner workings of 18 professional football clubs- Trade Targets
crom buddy said mchenry just doesn't ever impact the contest; floats on by from what i have seen watching him play on tv, he doesn't look like he runs hard either way, which is a big no-no for a small forward type- Dan Houston
they well may do, as they don't want pick 13 - lombardo is ranked a top 10 likelihood to be bid on - but do want a future first in exchange for it- 2024 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
our future first could be anywhere between 1 and 18... can't see us taking it to the 2025 draft whether it goes now or next year remains to be seen- Dan Houston
i'll counter that and say... he can also be stubborn = confident in his approach play favourites with certain players = know who he can rely on to perform when it counts can get caught out with in game tactical shifts at times = backs in his plan to be the one that works these three things apply to EVERY SINGLE AFL COACH- KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!
flagmantle fans saying he wants to play for them pear fans saying he wants to play for them media saying he get homesick but he wants to play for melbourne round and round and round we go... - AFLW: Rd 07 (Game 2) vs St Kilda
