  1. quick request @Whispering_Jack, can you please highlight each mfc pick per round for easy viewing?
  2. common reoccurring theme for winners since the inaugural winner in 93: nathan buckley ben cousins byron pickett sam mitchell jared rivers brett deledio danyle pearce rhys palmer dan hannebery jaeger o'meara lewis taylor jesse hogan jaidyn stephenson luke jackson all played for two or more clubs
  3. seconded i expect he'll be back as a senior coach by 2027 or so
  4. i'm more than happy for naicos to run thru the middle as his disposal efficiency has dropped off the charts as a result he's far, far more damaging for the filth coming off half back keep him in the middle fly!
  5. open season on meth coke players now, or does this actually make it less likely that they'll leave? middle aged blokes i'd be keen to have a chat with: tom barrass jake waterman liam ryan jack petruccelle (vic lad) alex witherden (vic lad) young'ns: harley reid (vic lad) rueben ginbey campbell chesser jack williams a lot of their players are wa born-and-bred - given our sheer number of wa lads, they might feel right at home with us, weather aside he's the ceo, so he's going to be appointing the next coach, not taking the job
  6. salient point depends on who was sending texts to whom...
  7. Do we get him in as an assistant coach in 2025?
  8. when was spargo last seen?
  9. very hard - both have helped build premiership lists i would argue hine got kotd cos of the dacaii, moore father-son selections plus quaynor as a 'cheap' nga pick before the rules changed to limit access only to outside the top 40 unless yr a franchise 'club'
  10. talls drafted by taylor... max king - rookie draft pick 19 2012: 0 afl games ❎ oscar mcdonald - pick 53 2013: 87 ✅ sam weideman - pick 9 2015: 75 ❎ mitch king - pick 42 2015: 0 ❎ liam hulett - pick 46 2015: 0 ❎ lachlan filipovic - rookie pick 8 2017: 0 ❎ tim smith (mature ager) - rookie pick 25 2017: 13 ❓ declan keilty (mature ager) - rookie pick 41 2017: 2 ❎ harrison petty - pick 37 2018: 75 ✅🏆 luke jackson - pick 3 2019: 91 ✅ 🏆 fraser rosman - pick 34 2020: 0 ❎ daniel turner - mid year pick 22 2020: 11 ✅ jacob van rooyen - pick 19 2021: 34 ✅ matthew jefferson - pick 15 2020: yet to debut ❓ jed adams - pick 38 2020: yet to debut ❓ will verrall - rookie pick 14 2020: yet to debut ❓ luker kentfield - mid year pick 11: yet to debut ❓ i'm probably being a bit generous to the 'later' picks, like o mac, but to get over 80 games out of a pick 50+ is not bad going, while i think it's pretty hard to judge the success / otherwise of those mature age picks like tim smith and i think turner is going to be a serious player for us for a long time, so that's a personal bias if two of jefferson / adams / verrall / kentfield contribute at afl level then his ratio of hits: misses for talls will look markedly better
  11. i still think he's going to end up developing as an outside / inside player - judd is the high water mark i LOVE how he hits the packs at pace and is still balanced when he kicks it, especially for goal; he just moves so beautifully around the ground
  12. peptides love to play a fast moving, quick ball movement, low contest game where they stretch the ground and use their pace we will need to turn it into a slog
  13. crowd was 32k on the money according to the mcg scoreboard sen of course pooh-pooh'd it i would be curious to know what other clubs have pulled against meth coke at the g / docklands this year
  14. oh, and i didn't even count in the rookie draft - james harmes is also a chance of cracking 200 games by the time his career is done all three of salem, hunt, and harmes are now at over 150 afl games that's a great trio of selections
  15. for starters, jimmy toumpas was brilliant in his draft year, captaining south australia at the underage tournament, played in the sanfl all year, and played in a premiership at that level the previous year as a 16 year old... i would have thought that taylor has little to do with trading so that's completely irrelevant to any rating of jason taylor's performance as national recruiting manager, where his focus is on the kids coming through two of the three picks he made in 2013 will end up playing over 200 games of afl - that's a massive win by any measure
  16. it'll be interesting to see if he goes top 40 or slides out to being available to us
  17. any reports on how it went?
  18. OUT: gawn, woey 2.0 IN: fullarton, petty turner to sub
  19. i presume it's just the hair and the low centre of gravity body shape, but kolt reminds me of buddha hocking he has incredible enthusiasm for the contest - after one of the roo f50 marks he first pumped like crazy, and after high fiving someone else he turned around and went to high five...a meth coke player
  20. apaz he played on one of the likely top selections today (i presume josh smillie), and more than held his own? fwiw, yze was voted 2nd best for oakleigh today, and smillie was not named in the best stats here he's played for oakleigh 6 times and been in the 'best players' in the last 4 games he's played in for oakleigh
  21. Earl Spalding-alike Although hopefully not defecting to the baggers
  22. no, that's mcvee having mcvee and amw will be fantastic for years to come i hope; two small defenders who can both lock down and provide rebound run
  23. fixed! 6: Rivers 5: Windsor 4: van Rooyen 3: Pickett 2: McDonald 1: Langdon
  24. 9 marks, 9 kicks, 2 goals 1 on return opened up our forward line, and minimised their ability to rebound super to have him back out there
