North Melbourne Assistance Package
whatwhat say what replied to Sydney_Demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
i would say that it'll be band 1 otherwise they would've been given pick 3, immediately after their own pick, as an assistance pick -
Welcome to Demonland: Taj Woewodin
whatwhat say what replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
he's played more afl games than his dad at the same age... i personally think his best role is an inside mid - he's the next cab off the rank given jj is out the door for that role -
i can't see us willingly let harmes walk along with jj we are light on for midfield depth as it is, let alone senior bodies inside mids in 2024: petracca viney brayshaw oliver sparrow woewodin even if you add rivers that's not a lot of depth

gifted? no, allocated - as was the rule at the time how north got this 'assistance package' has been arbitrary and opaque big difference between this and us getting $cully plus i was more referring to the post-$cully era where neeld took us into the deep darks of mordor

more likely given them these picks to enable them to get pick 4 but not direct access to riley sanders -

it all depends on whether those 2024 end-of-first-round picks are tradeable or not if they are, then north will jettison them quick smart because they wouldn't want to suddenly have 7-10 wins next year and lose em; better to use em this year they're in the box seat to get gc17's pick 4, which means in addition to their own pick and the likely compo pick for mckay they're likely to hold picks 2-4 inclusive at the pointy end of this draft it's the sort of compensation concession we would've killed for when we were a hot mess on field -
gives north the ammo to make a run at pick 4 and hold 2-4 inclusive geez we'd have killed for this sort of compensation-for-being-[censored] draft assistance when we were at our worst
-
so if north trade out their two 'bonus' end of 2024 first round picks...how the blazes can they be reviewed if another club holds them?? helps having laura kane as the new head of footy eh, who worked at north first as a consultant and then as paid staff
-
i'm expecting we'll go the key defender in o'sullivan if he's available with our pick, but i for one would love to add to our midfield stocks
-
i believe it's retention rate post kick
-
i believe that has to do with retention rates post-kick?
-
larkey signed a long term deal this year to remain at north he's the key to their future prospects and is going nowhere
-
they don't grow on trees, as per the players you outlined, but they do tend to only be available at the very pointy end of the draft: Keidean Coleman - pick 37 academy selection Nick Daicos - pick 4 father-son Steele Sidebottom - pick 11 (in 2008 - has been playing at an elite level for 15 seasons!) Josh Kelly - pick 2 Lachie Whitfield - pick 1 Sam Walsh - pick 1

chol and elijah hollands did their trade prospects no harm

if yr looking for a demon friend to tag along with...i'd happily be one of yr 6 nearest and dearest (price dependent) pm me!

the 'compensation' aspect of free agency pretty much negates the desire of those down the bottom of the ladder who lose a free agent to use the available cap space to tempt a similar free agent to come to them - it's all about maximising the compo what a surprise that the afl would curtail player movement with arcane rules and bizarre set-ups...

he's going to be their chf for the next decade and has just signed a new deal going nowhere -
contest and defence, you say? lock him in with our first pick...if we have one...

footscray in the box seat from all reports

bears better win BUT quite frankly, i think both sides 'need' to win bears have been up and about for a solid five seasons now and this is their first genuine chance of winning a premiership in that time the filth, on the other hand, i just don't see as playing a 'sustainable' brand of football

bears are lucky they played the pear in week 1 of the finals; those two sides have a history of choking in finals under their current regimes at least we have 2021 -
