I thought he was selfish. All those possessions and kicking 4 goals to himself. Winning the game off his boot... Give someone else a turn. All jokes aside, it was just jaw dropping to watch that display. Even when every other player looked spent, he looked like he could school them for a fifth quarter. Sam Gilbert is meant to be some freak rugby upbringing tackler, yet Gaz brushed him off like he was nuttin'. He killed my multibet, yet it was still a joy to watch.

Looks that way, Smithy. Sadly. They could really use a Mitch Clark type to pick up the slack and take over the throne -

Moloney was average. Probably a bit better than the shite he squatted out last year. Martin has NFI. But the biggest thing for me that no one seems to mention is Johnno Brown. Looked like a dinosaur. He's going to struggle towards the end of his career, which I reckon is going to come pretty fast. -
Roughly? I set my watch to it.

Apart from a 10 minute patch in the 3rd where he racked up some disposal and finally hit a target, he was absolutely terrible. If you were picking sides using GWS, he'd almost be last picked. For 6 million I'd rather blow it on a bloke that can take mark/goal of the week, or an enforcer, or some funny bastard to do all the media... 6 million on a little, boring spud. Well played Giants.

Our midfield - when will it be elite?
Deestroy All replied to Ron Burgundy's topic in Melbourne Demons
It's disheartening. All I could think was we'd have been blown away by those two middle of the road teams last night. And it all starts in the middle of the ground. No use having Mitch and Dawes if it hardly gets down there. I was convinced Scully would be great, he's rubbish. I really hope Viney lives up to the high expectations, I hope he gets more BOGs than he gets KO'd, these are some huge bodies he'll be throwing himself at. I'm sure Toumpas is the goods, I'm not so sure we have ball getters and structures to utilize his weapons. Jones has improved out of sight, but in any other team he'd be the soldier that compliments the star mid, not the main man. I've gone cold on Trengove. Not enough tricks, no explosive power, no deadly boot. He's a good mark for his size and a young leader, I want more from a #2 pick. The keeping your feet rule will work in his favour though. I'm confident Blease will be a gun, but again do we have the other blokes to get out to him and keep him busy every week? Not yet. Sylvia. The reason I'm so skeptical. Apart from Judd, there was no one out there last night that has played a better game than Sylvia did against Hawthorn about four years ago. Yet still we wait for another glimpse of that talent. Over it. It'd help if we had a better ruckman that gets us moving. Jamar's taps are infuriating, they just roll down his arm and land at his feet. Just hit it anywhere at least, give us some mystery. It'll be another tough year, or two. Having said that, I believe we have a team that can beat Port at the G. -
Can we please change the title of this thread? The word "hate" is far too strong and can be found in the phrase "hate crime." "Less fond" my be less offensive to some viewers.

The scientific explanation for this is the torn quadricep altered the trajectory and velocity of the ball.

Where was he aiming to kick it?

I won't read the thread beyond this post, it sums it up perfectly. He needs/needed to be all in or all out. His role doesn't leave him accountable for what are pretty majour decisions.

PS I love Mitch Clark. I have oodles of man-passion for Mitch Clark. I will weep upon his return.

Ironically, I wasn't arguing with anyone, I was agreeing with someone. I've rarely had a go at the whole club or admin, probably only that [censored] Paul Gardiner who I never liked. I realise it's a tough formula to get right at the top to deliver the ultimate success, and I don't enough about what goes on to often comment on it, I usually stick to what I know, and that's on field. I hope my post didn't show angst towards the club or supporters, there's no angst here, I accepted what we're like a long time ago. Maybe that makes me soft. At least posts like BH's make us have a look at ourselves. But enough about me, as a collective, I don't know, you may be right, I hear sweet FA from our supporters to know what we think of each other. Only what goes on on here, and I won't deny the people that post here frequently are passionate. It's the majority that don't post here, that pick and choose when to go to the games and if they'll bother making any noise or finding out what the new kid's name is. I have no idea what they are thinking/feeling. I know exactly what a crowd of Richmond or Essondon fans are thinking.

Of the few MFC supporters I've ever met, not many have had much idea about footy, and it's usually an awkward, passionless convo about their favourite players, I usually lose interest pretty quickly. When fellow supporters strike up a convo on the train, it always just seems to me like a casual interest, nothing worth hearing or interesting, nothing at all like some of the good posts/posters on here. So in my experience I completely agree with what B-H has said. The softness is also right. Just look at the reactions to some of the mild, honest criticisms on here. Go back and look for anyone calling Bennell or Morton soft, the reactions to those comments, which are true, just shows how many Demons supporters will put up with and even defend any garbage that is repeatedly displayed on the field. At the games we're the most quiet, reserved crowd you ever see. The rare times when we have been unusually loud and rowdy, it stood out like dogs balls and I wondered why it wasn't like that at every game.

To trip over myself I'd need to contradict myself. What anyone else said about Grimes has nothing to do with me. Your tripping theory is idiotic, there are varying opinions on every single topic ever created, so the whole world is constantly "tripping over themselves" according to you. Stop battling everyone Stue, (may I call you Stue? A grown man calling themselves Stuie just doesn't sit right with me) you're just not very good at it.

Why would I give a mail order bride my opinion when I'd be busy giving her the Siberian Express? You didn't challenge my opinion. If you think that comment was a challenge, it may be you that's challenged.
-
Do you ever just post your opinion on a topic and leave it at that? Is your interest footy, or is it footy fans? Seems to me every post you make is directed at other posters and their opinions. Are you lacking social interaction in the real world? If so I'm happy to throw you a bone and reply to you here, should make your day. There are a lot of interesting posters on here, I even love the ones I hate. But you're in that boring and predictable group, I usually skim over what you have to say or skip it all together. When you directly quote me I have to read all of your mind numbing garbage, I'd appreciate in the future if you didn't quote me, save me the hassle and save yourself the embarrassment.

Captain sideways. I'm not a fan to be honest. I used to like his saving marks in defense, I love his courage. But his non-damaging sideways kicks frustrate the hell out of me. And he butchers it when he's running forward. I long for the day we have a captain that has all the skills and attributes to turn a game, not just a respected workhorse.

You all turn a thread about building a successful coaching staff from ex-MFC people, into a Bruce "bashing" fest. I love it.
