Depends on the coach and if he is strong enough to deal with a potential problematic player.

GWS player puts contract talks on hold
Gorgoroth replied to jumbo returns's topic in Melbourne Demons
Difference is, if he walks they have a dozen others and more picks to come. If one of our better players walk it puts us back more than I would them. -
Roos the dream, Williams more likely the reality.

15 years ago I would have said yes.

How many supporters refuse to attend games while Neeld is coach?
Gorgoroth replied to tonatopia's topic in Melbourne Demons
I really don't think the club sent him to war. And if the club said he couldn't go, do you think that would have stopped him? I don't. -

I'm sorry but Neeld did not make him drink or put a machete in his hand. The club thought they were doing the right thing by allowing him to go home when he really wanted too. -

Jurrah should be in jail, that's not Neelds fault. -

We do, but 7 years into a rebuild it starts to wear thin. That and when you go to the games and spend 5 hours of your time and $50 of your money and see what is dished up by the players and coaches, why should we? Oh we support the club, which means we hurt, do the players and the coaches? No as much as us me thinks. I watch all the games, go to all the home games except where family gets in the way. I've stuck through a lot of thin and arched this club implode time and time again. No matter what new topping they are sprinkling on top it's still a steaming pile of shite. -
Well if we pay Neeld out then it will balloon out quite a bit.

Never said I wasn't going, just don't want to. I've already organised a lift in, did it last night. Just not looking forward to gettin flogged and putting up with shite on the field and shite in the stands -
I've not posted before in this topic, but Robbo and Gerard just said they spoke off air a few weeks ago about a rumour they had heard independently to each other that Neeld had 3 weeks (being the end of the Hawks match) but they did not go to air with it. Tonight Gerard Healy said something similar to this on his radio show but it now seems the next two games determine his fate, if we get belted in both with no effort, come the bye, Neeld will be gone.

Same, I use to go every week, now I struggle to find the enthusiasm to go to home games I've technically already paid for. -
Look at Freo, they get a competent coach and the players respond last year and run and spread, attack and defend. We do none of the above, the players don't run from their opponents as they know the ball will sail back over their heads to their opponents, the mids are always outnumbered and get beaten at the contest constantly, or they get the ball and get smashed. The forwards either don't get the ball down there or if they do they get it kicked on their heads. All these things should be either coached into them or out of them. After 18 months a lot of the players who have been there for all of Neelds tenure still make the same mistakes. He can't get his message across, wether this is the players fault really is irrelevant because its his job to get them to play good footy, he has failed so far and does not show any sign of doing any better anytime soon. Would another coach do better? If it was a respected coach, ie Roos etc I reckon they would get a better output.

If this was his first year I'd agree, but in your second year you can't get the players to try. You have failed as a coach. Neeld tried to do the right thing and down the track we will acknowledge his part in getting us Dawes, Clark and Hogan. But it comes down to getting the best out of the players and in that Neeld fails week after week. Other than 1 good quarter we would be winless this year.

Who cares! They won't make a difference and we will still get flogged.

Can't be bothered watching, will be pointless dribble.
