POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs North Melbourne
We are the Boa constrictor, we suffocate teams until there is no breath left. In some ways I'd find playing against that worse than being wiped off the park and put out of your misery.

MFC Rebranding for Indigenous Round
Good news mate, hopefully it arrives in time for the game 🙂

The Soccer thread
There's nothing like it anywhere. Seeing the transistor radios and phones out in the crowd for constant score checking! Well done to Leeds I'm glad they stayed up, maybe James Milner leaves Liverpool to finish the career off where it started? Time will tell. Nerves starting to kick in for the final this Sun morning. Bit worried about the health of our side, Thiago is 50-50, Fabinho 50-50, Van Dijk battling and I still don't feel Salah is 100%. Not ideal when you're taking on a rampant Real Madrid side full of belief right now.

Kangaroos Hopping Mad after Triple Walk Out
Being surrounded by North fans (albeit 4 or 5 of them) was an experience I hadn't had for a long time. The talk about the standing ovation at half time was bang on. They were pretty ordinary but late in the last quarter one of them did turn to me asking if I had the GF tickets etc. Said we were an impressive side and good luck to us so that was kinda nice. But to your point those aren't going to feel sorry for us if they are top and we are bottom because like us they will be wrapped up in their own success. I do feel bad for opposition footy fans who pay their memberships and get a bum steer from their clubs though.

2022 Injury List
Positive news about Salo, no need to rush it.

Blues the Dee-stroyers?
Yeah and they're more helter skelter all the time whereas we're measured and pick our moments. I feel like it could tax them more as the season goes on.

NON-MFC: Round 10, 2022
I think Weitering is least the joint best defender in the comp right now. Performing in a back line with chaos like that all the time is a big deal.

2022 Free Kick Differential
No worries. I mean it's possible but it seems like the rules this document is open to interpretation.. I'm surprised it didn't go through every possible scenario, at least in the sections I read.

2022 Free Kick Differential
I did something that I should probably do more last night, I read the AFL Laws 2022 document. The definition of legal tackle is: a tackle by a Player where: (a) the Player being tackled is in possession of the football; and (b) that Player is tackled below the shoulders and above the knees I then tried to find the section on dangerous or sling tackles, the closest to this I could find was prohibited contact: a) executes a tackle that is not legal (refer to the definition of Legal Tackle); (b) pushes or bumps an opposition Player in the back; (c) makes high contact to an opposition Player (including the top of the shoulders) with any part of their body; (d) holds an opposition Player who is not in possession of the football; (e) executes an illegal Shepherd; (f) Charges an opposition Player; (g) trips or attempts to trip an opposition Player, whether by hand, arm, foot or leg; If I'm missing something and someone can point it out that would be great, but I can't see anything regarding a player tackled needing to have his feet planted on the ground for it to be a legal tackle.

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs North Melbourne
It is not too much to ask at all Pates. I was literally the only one out of my Melbourne friends who got down to Marvel on Saturday. Was actually kind of shocked when I realised in the group messenger chat with them that they were all saddling up for an arvo/evening of viewing on Kayo... like it was an interstate match. I know a lot of people have home memberships (myself included, bought a ticket this week) but I just don't get that some people wouldn't want to see this great team play in Melbourne whenever they can. Get on down this week, it's probably going to be the best build up to a Melb v Freo game on this ground.

Rules confusion 'stand'
You have to admit though the AFL has given us fans a lot of reasons to talk about umpiring this year. And mainly in the form of conversations around trying to understand what it is they are trying to do. I am exactly the same as you Nev where I hate talking about umpiring but even I'm being tested now. We have gone to an extreme where these things can't be ignored. There's never been more free kicks in a game whether I'm at the ground or watching on TV where I have no idea what is going on. 50s are being handed out like candy, it's almost part and parcel to pay a free and an accompanying 50 now. There shouldn't be any times in a game where you have no idea what a free kick is for, whether you agree with the decision or not, maybe once in a blue moon this can happen but it is happening at least 10 times a game right now. I don't want to complain about the state of umpiring but I certainly want to understand it better and see if we can figure out ways to make the job easier. Because otherwise it is becoming a hard sport to watch.

Well that burns a little 🙁 you have to hand it to City though, they are just an amazing and impressive team. If you're going to win it like that then you can really only tip your hat. We have a great side, definitely the best side in my time supporting Liverpool. Any other era or league in Europe they probably win this title but when you're going up against one of the very best teams ever that's just how it is. I do wonder though what would have happened had Liverpool taken the lead while City were 2-0 down, could the heads have dropped for City once the news had passed around the Etihad? We'll never know.

Petracca’s goalkicking
He's great when the confidence is up and for some reason when the game is on the line but routine shots trouble him
