  1. Always felt like the man grew up with a certain respect for MFC in the Norm Smith days, however he had that chip on the shoulder and a desire to knock us off our perch after being passed over by us as a teen (or not brought onto the list for whatever reason). Seemed to have those residual feelings right until the end of his coaching career in my opinion and it really showed in the way he spoke about being interviewed for our coaching job. Not sure, just always felt there was a touch of disdain there.
  2. Yes, very nice change to not be on these lists.

Yeah the NFL one keeps me sane. Soccer one good from time to time but it's not quite as active as this one. Sometimes go in the MMA one but it's usually just me having a conversation with myself. But as an aside how much joy has the footy thread been this summer! Just keeps rolling on and on.

Yep, we all needed a break from the main thread in that period I think.

One of the best rivalries in football right now Gorg. I'm loving it. We're going to have our hands full in coverage, Ambrey Thomas still 50-50 and I've really liked his positioning work. Also anything that keeps that PI machine Josh Norman off the field is a plus. Kupp I'm conceding several catches to already, he's too hot right now. Can we minimise the damage from OBJ and Higbee. I don't know.

I just want to preface this by saying I'm not trying to be cynical of jinxy, but I do feel like the winning streak we have over you means very little right now and I also feel like the more you lose against a team the closer you come you beating them with learnings and stuff. If the Rams establish any sort of running game I will be very very nervous.

Personally I'm struggling to see how we keep OBJ quiet twice in 3 weeks but that's just me.

Trent Williams looks a day to day situation at the moment. Was on the crutches after the game. Really hope he can get up.

To put on my negative/jinxing hat on for a sec, it is all setup for the Rams to break the hoodoo against the Niners. Playoff football is different to regular season divisional games and there is some serious weaponage on this Rams team.

Underperformed at times maybe, fraud is too much though. Equal 2nd for touchdown throws in playoffs with a guy named Montana and behind another bloke called Brady who is lapping everyone at this point.

Pretty stumped with this to be honest. The Bills D has been my favourite to watch this year yet it felt like they never got close to laying a glove on Mahomes. Outside contain breaking down regularly and no 15 able to extend plays like they're going out of style. I always felt the Bills could score, I've felt the KC defense has laboured a bit lately but this was pretty out of control. No doubt both defenses were spent by the end but yeah, id say theres a few reasons for it. Personally I'm not calling bad coaching on the 13 second drive for a FG. Poor execution on that one, likely fatigue.

It's looking likely that I may have to do the same thing. Sucks because I've been getting really used to watching YouTube post game streams live. Bugger

This game was absolutely spectacular, some truly amazing quarterback play. Was really hoping the Bills would get it. Watch out Bengals.

Yeah exactly, he's got a tendency to get in his own way. No doubting his offensive mind though.

To an extent yes, but I still see the same occasional boneheaded Kyle come out to play. Even yesterday some of his calls for horrendous. Throwing on 1st down multiple times when we weren't getting diddly squat in the air. st was to persist with the running game, even if it was just 3 rards and a cloud of dust type stuff. No-one is scared of Jimmy throwing the football at the moment and it seems the only throws he's capable of are over the middle to Kittle or Samuel running slants or post routes. Then there's the genius of decidng to have our left tackle run motion on a 4th and 1 because, you know, it worked so well against the Cowboiys last week. The Packers D did a really good job of stopping that but we really telegraphed it. Have a lot of respect for Kyle Shanahan and he's a great mind. He's gotta be right up there when it comes to drawing up all sorts of running plays but to be honest it's because of that ability that I kind of expect a certain level of success in the running game. Sometimes it feels like he's either holding back or doing god knows what.

Pretty tough to say really. Playing the Rams in the title game is like us having to come up aginst the Cats for the 3rd time ofthe year in the Prelim. But in this case I'm a bit of a sucker for the more you play someone and beat them consecutively the more the other team could knock you off. Good to see the years of MFCSS have filtered over into other sports. On the other hand, Bucs and Brady. Would be a cool narrative to see him and Jimmy go head to head. But if you were drawing opposition QBs to platy in this game out of a hat Brady would be the short straw surely? Edge to wanting to play the Rams but only for a game in Cal and familiarity. PS: Watching the ganme later but I did see Rams staerted well.

The days of Staubach and Pearson when the phrase was coined are looking a bit prehistoric Stein! Even the Jimmy J Aikman time is looking pretty rear mirror right now! Haha just joking around, been a real long time for us too of course.

By the way, I kept joking to my Cowboys friends that if we were somehow able to trade Jimmy for Dak Prescott during the week I would have made it happen lol.

As long as you support a world where the Cowboys never make a Super Bowl again I’m good! Obviously I’m just joking Cowboy fans, live and let live!
