Me too Picket. His playing career was well before my time but just after his time coaching the Saints ended my school had him down to take a few of our training sessions. He's one of those people you don't forget.

I heard Stan speak at an MFC function around 2003 might have even been the B&F. All he talked about in his speech that night was his love for the red and blue and his deep regret that he couldn't help bring us premierships. Another time I heard him speak at length about Norm Smith and how he helped shape him into not only the footballer but the person he became. Make no mistake there is much love there.
  3. This is brilliant! Man I love DL! My only regret was not seeing this before the weekend..
  4. We won the whole entire premiership Jaded! How good is it! 😄
  5. 100% and like you this was the goal I went the closest to touching the ceiling. Can't stand JB and BT but I really thought their call of the game was brilliant. Little bit of a sucker for BT'S "When you cross Dusty with Daicos, you get Petracca." Line too.
  6. Luke Dunstan went into this year not in the Saints 22 and next year will be the same with the Dees. A smart move however and gives us that depth in the engine room. Happy for us to become a club that turns water into wine.
  7. Honestly I'd prefer just sitting in chair and thinking about how good that win/flag was than turning attention to the other sports I'm into or trade period right now.
  8. Obviously a bit gutted, would have been a huge asset to keep around the club but he's entitled to find work opportunities elsewhere. Maybe it was a soft cap issue? Someone who knows what their talking about can help explain if that was a possibility. We're going to have to get used to seeing good people go now. It's a situation I'm certainly not used to but now that we're the benchmark they're going to come of our expertise, it is flattering in a way but still annoying.

It's so hard to believe its nearly been a week and I am definitely not ready to move on. Not interested in trades, not even interested in other sports that I'm passionately into. Heck, I'm not even interested in talking to friends that don't have an interest in Melbourne right now haha. Trade talk should have a moratorium for a week after the grand final. In fact it should never be talked about again.
  10. I watched the gane with my parents because I couldn't bear to watch alone on this occasion. In the 3rd quarter when the Dogs were controlling the game the margin was only 2 goals but I could feel the game slowly dying. I was doing that involuntary sobbing breathing you do when you are crying/about to cry. And when Bont snapped that beautiful goal to go 19 I just totally lost it a for a couple of seconds balled my eyes out. My dad who is a Collingwood fan of all people came over to the couch and had his arm round me. He turned out to be the best good luck charm ever, for someone who probably wanted his son to be a Pies fan he was all in for us. I'll never forget it. I then shed a tear of joy when Fritta kicked the goal to get us 36 points up. But the place where I shed the most tears was totally unexpected. I was watching the Sunday footy show and once it finished the Sports Sunday opening theme came on where they show all the celebrations from sports teams and individuals. It took me absolutely by surprise when they got to the AFL one and the Richmond triumph was replaced by Max Gawn and Simon Goodwin raising the cup. I completely and totally lost the plot. It all hit home.
  11. Beats reading about some hack requesting a trade to Collingwood!
  12. In COVID world expect the unexpected is really the norm. No-one should be making any promises really.
  13. I'm not even close to ready to think about other stuff!

Is there anywhere other than the HS shop to buy the DVD. Don’t really want to give Murdoch too much $ Update: AFL Store
  17. Remember when you couldn’t win the premiership as minor premiers?
  18. I don’t know, maybe I’m too stuck in VIC lockdown pandemic mode and feel like player meet and greets are still some mythological concept from the never-never right now. If he promised it and didn’t deliver then you’d be right to feel aggrieved, whether it was out of the club’s hands or not. With people here predominantly from VIC who have essentially been robbed of many events such as a day after celebration at Gosch’s, it could be difficult getting sympathy I’m afraid. Definitely write the email though, feedback is important.

    Hats off to Saty!
  20. That’s what no alcohol during the game and then party town after does to you :p Pleasure!
  21. I’ve bumbled that up @Premiers. I meant that I hope this recent name change is all you change about yourself! Haha
  22. Just saw it now, thought he was a bit hard on himself even if he was joking a bit because he was a versatile player and when Lever went down in 2018 he did sort of help with filling the hole back there but he’s simply a better forward.
  23. They can have it, they had to use their creative control card to win it anyway by sacking a long term favourite son coach. You only get 1.
  24. Thanks Uncle Choco! We should have had you at this football club years ago!
  25. Remember when we decided that Fritsch was a forward?
