  1. It's not a black or white scenario either. There is a chance that he's willing to do that but he, his manager and the club are still trying to figure out what that exact figure is.

Just in time for the 'Loading end party'
  3. Losing both would be crap.
  4. Spot on Binman, club is bigger than anyone at the end of the day. He's right about one thing though, it's one of the biggest decisions he'll ever make. Leaving a bit on the table to potentially be back for more premiership reunions or maximising that nest egg. The correct answer is not the same for everybody.
  5. He just doesn't do it for long enough. I know people attack Weid bashers for expecting too much from a high pick but the physical side that I'd like to see from him is something I would have expected from someone with his stature.

Great, another 6 day break. Couldn't see them not making that the Fri night game though.
  7. Absolute madness!
  8. Im glad hes trying to get the best deal for himself but for a club like us trying to keep our list together for sustained success that's probably not going to cut it. The fact is you need players leaving money on the table if you want to keep the band together. This is where cap casualties come from.

MFCSS extends to finding a home base!

    We'll all make it surely!
  11. I dunno, it's a new climate I guess. I would also prefer people don't take the micky out of things like a contract extension but it was mentioned before that it is an official MFC podcast with advertising and stuff like that. It's all cool and hip and Ali G to be doing it this way and we're the dinosaurs 😜
  12. *accidental post
  13. It is kind of funny how new this territory is for the majority of us.
  14. Yeah ah well. I should just get around it, for instance if you’re buying a house how about having the cool and hip real estate agent send you the bank details for the deposit over Facebook messenger! People feel really safe handing over hundreds of thousands of dollars that way and that old method with details in a letter on company letterhead is so antiquated. Yeah that's not so bad!
  15. Probably no difference Redleg, none at all and I'm just being a stick in the mud.
  16. Took the words from my mouth DD. I might be old school but I find it ridiculous that you would use a podcast like theirs as a forum to announce something so important. Maybe it's a new climate and things are going this way with retirements being announced over Twitter and all that crap but I'd like to think there is still some professionalism in the way things like this get done.

With construction and roadworks delays I'd be surprised if the road to the new home base was even ready by that time! It's fun to dream about though!
  18. This is my situation as well. For the months after I was real satisfied and everything this year was gravy, fast forward a few weeks into this year and the burn to see us win one on the G in the flesh is real. Of course the need was satisfied but it does still feel like your chasing something to an extent and the stress is still there!
  19. The 3 losses in a row in the exact same fashion each time were pretty damaging and have stuck in the craw. I don't think I've truly enjoyed a game since as everything has been must win and with a whole lot of angst. Including this last game it was a real yuck feeling leading at every change except the last one 4 times. They even had a hint of the old "Can you trust Melbourne?" about them. Beats falling off the cliff as reigning premiers though.
  20. For the most part absolutely. We had a gameplan you could trust once a lead was established. Yeah some slip ups here and there but it is great to have a competitive team again. While it has been great though the way this season ends has a big part to play and I'm not talking about winning a flag or not. I'm talking about where we finish in Rd 23. I enjoyed the 2004 season very much but it was a season squandered in the end. You could say the same for the two years after. You would hate to have the wheels fall off now and no-one remembers teams that started seasons real well (Unless they win the flag of course)

Yeah I forgot to add that I hope we're all still here when it does.

I'm holding onto the hope that this could all rapidly change this time next week.
  23. Nervy, nervy times.
  24. Opinions ranging from credible sources to backyard blow-hards matter somewhat. For instance I'm not listening to an ex player on a pod who maybe watches Melb play 3 or 4 times a season compared to someone paid to watch every week. But rpfc said he works for The Age so that answers my question.
  25. Well he can always change his mind and sign earlier. That's what I'm hoping anyway.
