POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton

Farewell Luke Jackson
Yeah for sure, you don't want the bar of success and happiness that high. I will still see this an an enjoyable season if we don't win it. Sometimes absolute phrases aren't meant to be absolute. Not putting words in anyone's mouth but it does happen.

Rutts needs some god damn stability in that club. It's been turbulent ever since he came in.

What on earth happened to De Gea? He looked like he was made of biscuits.

NON-MFC: Round 22, 2022
Think it's just force of habit.

Farewell Luke Jackson
Why's that WCW? Yes we shouldn't forget the contributions that players have made but is it unreasonable to put the club first above any emotional attachments and continue with our desire to win?

When will Melbourne break these embarrassing records?
I bought this game from Name a Game in the 90s just for Smith's mark. Fun times and a costly exercise.

POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
Could have come back with numbers after the bounce. The photo also suggests Lever's desire to be a pogo stick..

Veil of Negativity
Well at least we know where to come if we ever need a veil of negativity.

PODCAST: Rd 22 vs Carlton
Question: In one word where does Melbourne finish? Obviously this will require tips on other games.

Veil of Negativity
There is something to that and I occasionally find myself subscribing to the 'Expect the worst and you'll never be disappointed' theory. It is an ugly feeling to be expecting something that doesn't turn out and life is a bit short to be disapointed about something that has little to do with you, espcially when you've raised the bar so high that your general happiness is riding on that successful result. Of course I think it is always better, always smarter, always wiser to be optimistic. That goes for anything in life, but tempering expectations is not a stupid thing either.

JAKE BOWEY APPRECIATION THREAD.
I would love to see him in the wing/HFF role and see if he can help us hit targets at half forward. Very hard to see how he will come in now but it's tempting.

Could be the biggest coaching hijack since Ross Lyon!

PODCAST: Rd 22 vs Carlton
I like this question and I'd just like to add on is it posible that we may just have to accept that it will be extremely difficult for Ben to play a good game while we are playing with the one tall? He is taking the best defender every single week and is never able to move around how he'd like.

We're Finishing OUT of the Top Four
I feel like we would actually play the ground well too. Brisbane are a good side and have plenty of weapons that can carve anyone up on their day but they do also run on momentum and if we bring the pressure that we know we are capable for bringing this will get stuck in their heads. We need to make sure our midfield game is as good as it has been all year, win the clearances and win the territory battle. Make sure that we are limiting not only their entries but mainly the quality entries into their 50. Make sure Rich and Zorko are kept honest and play to our strengths. This is a game where we absolutely WILL need to take our chances in front of goal so we need to be putting the ball in the right place when hitting up targets. I’m pretty encouraged after Melksham’s performance on Sat as I like where he leads to and we know he can kick them, need to get it in his hands and make him our Jamie Elliott. It's going to be a tough challenge of course, but it is crunch time now and I’m confident we are ready. A few Jack Viney tackles to hurt and physical contests early wouldn’t go astray either. They’re a good side but we should not fear them, we will be coming out with all guns blazing on Friday.
