PREGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
This is exactly how I'm seeing Laurie at the moment. Not fit enough to play majority midfield, doesn't have the ability to pressure enough as a small forward. He's neither fish nor fowl as it stands. I want him to succeed and was excited when we drafted him, the question is will he find a position?

That I agree with. This mid group needs something a bit extra to go the next step and it is probably that Cripps type that will win a ball when it's there to be won in a crucial moment. My original point is that I'd find it hard to see them drop off completely and miss finals by a long shot due to this midfield, it still has a fair bit going for it and also a backline that will keep them in games. I don't see top 4 though.

Yeah I think I've had a similar issue before. It really should have when you are paid up till at least, that site and the app still appear a little clunky at times.

Happy Birthday Ron Barassi - 87 today
Very early days but there is a chance that I'll be chatting with Adrian Gallagher soon for an interview style project I've been kicking around. There will be plenty of questions regarding Barass as a coach 🙂

Farewell Brodie Grundy
He doesn't need to be a world beater in front of goal but if he could just improve his accuracy 5-10% it would make the difference. He's going to miss them and that's fine, but as you said he needs to nail them with a bit more regularity. Especially if this talk of 70% forward is true.

Kane-o does strike me as a Law of Attraction kind of guy.

Kind of makes you think. Instead of those prodigies lets say they had some decent KPP prospects but ones that took a lot longer to develop, say Crawford retires earlier, say Rioli turned out to be Donald Cockatoo-Collins.. Would they have gotten enough results early on to ensure he was given the time he needed to build it? Or could he have been another David Noble in history? Especially with a president that wanted to sack him after he'd already won a flag.

What was the story with Bobby Wagner Gorg? Was there any chance to re-sign or was it likely a one and done scenario?

It does make me feel good that our two high profile recruits have a massive point to prove. A good chip on the shoulder doesn't hurt

Happy Birthday Ron Barassi - 87 today
I've brought this up before but would like to re-visit. For those who were lucky enough to see the great man play, which current day player did his style most resemble? If any? I never saw him live but from all the books, stories from uncles, tidbits from folks on here, the limited tv footage I got my hands on, I get an image in my head of someone like Paddy Dangerfield. Someone who was like a fierce mountain lion released from the cage moments before the ball was bounced. Most great footballers have killer instinct and bottle but players like this took it to a new level. Really keen to hear your comparisons and if there aren't any and he was just one of a kind, I'm happy to hear that too.
