Clarrys 200th
Really happy for Clayton, it's hard to explain but I haven't been this happy about a milestone game for a while. This guy is a club legend, end of story. We know Garry Lyon has constantly had great things to say about Clarry but the one that sticks out was around early 2017 when he said out of all the youngsters we had, this one was going to be the best. And Clarry's best is as good as I've personally seen at Melb. Whatever happens from now till the end of his career, whether he's a one club player or does take a fresh start, he will always be a favourite son at MFC for me. This Sat will be a moment to celebrate all of this.

Where is Fritta Going?
Been knocking him this year but I don't think trading him is a good move. He's still a proven scorer and we need those.

PODCAST: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Listening to this now. Binman I do hear you RE: concussion. However I feel like we've all been starting sentences with "If we're serious about concussion we need to XYZ" for years now. Whatever faith I had in the league doing the right thing in this area was given a time of death at week 1 of the 2023 finals series. I don't know what it will take move this immovable giant but the league simply doesn't care enough to make the changes necessary. That's just how it is for me. PS: Hope the trip is going well!

- PODCAST: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Loved Bayley Fritsch's game, the effort to help teammates and find space was evident. Yet with 0 tackles and 4 pressure acts are there still concerns? Bayley looks excellent when he has the space he was allowed by the North defence but the games I worry about are the ones where he doesn't have that space and needs to find other ways to work his way into the game/help us lock the ball in 50 and get some repeat chances at goal. To look at it another way, is this not going to be much of an issue once we have our transition gameplan going and we're getting it into 50 quicker to players like Fritsch on a lead? Your thoughts?- POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Think it was more that they were expecting to win but wouldn't have been surprised with a loss. I don't think a fair number of people are surprised we won.- POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
This was my concern and its times like this when Fritta looks more like an icing on the cake player.- POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
My love for the sport was on the wane before that but that night and subsequent week after nuked anything I had left for taking the AFL seriously. I hardly watch any games other than ours now. I used to watch most Thurs and Fri might games now barely any. I was part of a weekly footy podcast that recapped the round's action but now the thought of watching more than 2 or 3 games a weekend seems like a headache. The passion for the game at the highest level isn't there now.- POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
Very happy with Bayley Fritsch's game today. 3 goals and 21 possessions (career high?). Found space and his instincts were to help the team today. One slight worry - 0 tackles and 4 pressure acts. When you're finding space and getting opportunities like he did today then you don't worry about the defensive side, but he is not going to get the space he did today against a lot of the other sides in the competition. When his leads are blocked and the forward 50 marks aren't happening this is when most of us notice the lack of defensive pressure and being able to offer something other than his 1 wood. I hope we can see more of this from now till the end of the season, or just keeping hitting him lace out.- POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
The accuracy was pretty good today, in conditions where you wouldn't expect it. Fritta, Chin and Melk all clinical in front of goal. Imagine if that could happen more often?- VOTES: Rd 18 vs North Melbourne
