  1. Strange, only 30 and one year left on the contract. Didn't report to pre season, hope he's ok.
  2. That's exactly right Binman he's the hottest artist in America and world. Very much mainstream. I probably should have said "the mainstream that traditional fans expect" or are comfortable with. The Spanish thing doesn't surprise me one bit in California as a lot of them are fluent. Great show and good to see the NFL thumb the nose at MAGA even if indirectly.
  3. Metallica! Santa Clara has missed a trick twice now..

If it wasn't a 'MVP for the whole defense' game then it was definitely a special teams MVP game. I wasn't looking forward to the Aussie media running this story into the ground but in this case it was deservedly so, Dickson was incredible with his punting on the night. My favourite had to be that low trajectory kick that found the coffin corner. Can you remember a better punting performance in a Superbowl? Then there is Jason Meyers with 5/5 field goals, a new record in the big game. Special teams matter!

Horrible game but I'll tell you what, some of the defensive performances were phenomenal. Murph and Hall leading the way, Lawrence balled out as usual. I loved the Mills sack where he took care of the centre and then dumped Maye, Aaron Donald would have smiled at that one. You could say that the NE O-line was terrible and you'd be right, but the Seahawks didn't have to do a lot to totally manhandle them at the line of scrimmage. They hardly blitzed and still came through with a 52% pressure rate. That's just a D that is way too good.
  6. I enjoyed it. I understand and respect that it wasn't everyone's cup of tea and I don't have a problem with anyone disliking it, as a matter of fact half the venue I was at yesterday didn't really enjoy it. However musically, performance wise, use of stage and props and just overall energy I thought it was excellent. The Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin surprises were great additions as well. It's good to have something different instead of rolling out the same mainstream suspects, something that opens the mind a bit is hardly a bad thing right now especially in the US.
  7. Is there something we're meant to do about this rage wise?

I think this shades it. At least for worst offensive play calling.

MVP calls? Walker? Seattle defense? Jason Meyers even?

Like I said though Gorg, I can sort of deal with that but Darnold will take a bit of time.

It was coming. This has been a very poor offense from NE

I can almost come to terms with Seattle winning this superbowl but I can't come to terms with Sam Darnold having a ring yet.

If New England don't get minimum 1 turnover they are stuffed

Not enough offense generated by New England. Seattle defensive pressure on point and Walker is running like crazy. Still a game though.

Grats to Matt. Great season and well deserved.
  22. Can we do it? Yes we can. Will we? I don't know. The beauty of each season is you start with hope.
  23. Not bad! Will have a proper listen later but there's plenty to work with there. Good to see that you're having a go with the AI and seeing what it can offer. Another lifetime ago I was in the scene myself and an amateur song writer/arrangement maker. I still do it as a hobby occasionally. This AI stuff is a real love-hate thing because I've always really appreciated the craft of songwriting/sound design/mixing and mastering and love seeing a professional do it. After 15 - 20 years of in and off music making I have a hard drive somewhere with around 100 ideas and arrangements and of those, about a dozen completed songs. Yet these programs come along and produce in a click what took me weeks, months and sometimes years of work! On the flip side it has proven to be a way to get ideas down much quicker and help prevent the writer's block. I am worried about what it means for the industry but we'll just have to see how it develops. Will give it a proper listen today 🙂
  24. I don't frequent anywhere near as many metal gigs as I used to but a friend bought me a ticket to Testament at the Northcote Theatre for my birthday last year and they are as good as ever if not better. Definitely keeping the bay area thrash spirit alive. Electric Wizard are a real mainstay of doom/stoner metal. Always been there and will continue to be there after the end of time. Speaking of which, has anyone mentioned Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats yet? I'm sure Gorg is familiar but check them out if you like this stuff. I like this lineup, I don't like festivals that are jam packed and have too many bands playing at the same or similar times. Makes it feel like an airport.
  25. If we're talking about him being knocked back then Macca is 100% correct and I've heard it from Robbie himself. When he first got to the club to try out for the 4ths they flat out told him "You're skinny, you wear glasses, you've got no hope". Didn't tear the house down on day 1.
