Simon Goodwin Sacked
The ultimate professional. Not saying that we haven't made the right choice to part ways, however I'm almost certain that down the track we will realise some of the amazing qualities we had in him that aren't here anymore. I hope like hell we will be happy with our decision, but it is by no means a low risk one.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
Sounds like we don't need a selection panel, just a coffee or two and some paperwork signed.

Cam Bruce to Melbourne?
Mentioned this the other day. I would love Bruce back at the club, I dont think it ended the best. I also love his work with the Hawthorn 3-peat team and the way he helped transition Brisbane's midfield from slow codgers into a force.

PODCAST: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
I was a little surprised at Binman's catch all response to the people who were impressed with how how we played and thought I can't speak for the others but I stand by my opinion that this was one of the first games thia year where we looked fully committed to the gameplan. This isn't to say that we haven't played or tried to play that way this year, I'm usually one of the first people to point out the fact that Goodwin was trying to implement this style all season, but I dont think there was another game this year were we looked 100% dialed in and committed to doing what the gameplan asked of us. Stats can be pulled and arguments can be made that we've been playing this way all season but the reality is that it's only taken shape in the second half of the season, I'm not fussed about being 4th in ball movement since the bye, whatever that even means. I'm also not taking any proof out of the first 5 games, the first Saints game, or second Gold Coast game because the effort levels were largely inept. I'm not looking to the Port game or similar ones because these games we looked confused and caught in two minds bombing long and reverting to old habits. I'm not looking to the Collingwood game because this wasn't a good display of the new style but more the old territory game that kept us in it and lastly I'm not looking to the West Coast game because to call that a measuring stick is a joke. Im not re-writing history and I don't think some others are either. However it was plain to see that we had bought into this way of moving the ball more in this game than nearly everyone other game this year and I think that statement is legit. I've said it all year that I was undecided on Goodwin right up until last Tuesday and one of the reasons was because I did think the style was starting to take shape. If it had been working a treat all year of the players had the buy in and confidemce then we'd sure as hell have more wins on the board.

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
I'm not fussed that Chaplin ruled himself out. The guy is probably a very good assistant but I think his contribution to our success has been a bit overrated. The suggestion that he was the architect of our stud backline is a myth. He didn't start the work behind that, Jade Rawlings did. Every week from 15-19 someone on here would say "We need to tell Jade to get lost and take that zone rubbish with him". It was essentially the same system only Jade had Frost and Omac running it. Troy came into the role with May and Lever both returning to form and the emergence of Harrison Petty. He did a great job but the personnel helped. Good assistant. Will get another job somewhere if not here.

Brad Green and the current board
Who doesn't love a good power struggle! You can chalk it up to BS if you want but she usually gets good mail.

Daniel Turner - Next MFC Captain?
I like it. He goes straight to vice captain at very least. Leadership in spades

And just because Tom Morris said that it's Buckley's to lose doesn't mean that it is actually Buckley's to lose..

Who Will Be Our Next Coach?
I reckon you'd be going back to someone like Robert Walls or Malcolm Blight. Long time.

I've been hoping the Rivers would become this but I do agree on Windsor. Hope there is a lot of inside mid time these last few games.

PODCAST: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
This was the first game this year where we looked completely committed to the game plan. While the skill errors and lack of discipline were still there, we always looked for a runner out of the backline and looked to bring it back in board through the middle. There rarely seemed a moment where the players looked confused or caught in two minds about what to do and if mistakes occurred then they would try again. I don't know if this was just a coincidence but there is just a little sadness that it took until now for the guys to have the confidence in this. Was Goodwin onto something?

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
I've been trying to think what made this a good perfornamce from us. After all, the game was riddled with skill errors as usual, poor kicking into 50 and if we're honest quite a few players below par on their output. Its easy to see a close result like this and instantly lavish praise on the loser for their gallant effort. The Dogs were pretty inaccurate and the umpiring despite what anyone says was even or probably favoured us. Some pretty crazy bounces of the ball resulted in a couple of good goals for us too, the pessimist would day we were just lucky. But I refuse to think this was juat catching the Dogs on an off day or luck, there was something about thia performance that deserved its accolades and for the last hour I was trying to figure it out. And then.. Bang! This was a good performance from Melbourne because they stuck with the game plan that they've been trying to achieve all year. There were skill errors yes, there were bone headed plays yes, there was a lack of discipline at times yes, but unlike any other game this year their commitment to the game style and the way we want to move the ball was unwavering. Even when we stuffed it up we would go again and again and again. This was all I wanted in the last 6 weeks. I didnt care about mistakes, I just wanted to see us commit to this and not revert to bombing down the line and going slow. I don't think there was one time today where I saw a player caught in the midst of indecision, they trusted the process. For that I have to give the guys my kudos, do that in the last two games and I'll be good with it.

POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Western Bulldogs
Plenty of positives and plenty of negatives. I'm glad to see that people here are looking at the upside though. I think we saw today that the gamplan that Goodwin was trying so hard to fix in was starting to bear fruit. Yes it took far too long but to see it in full effect against quality opposition who likes to move the ball themselves. The hard yards were put in place by Goody and if we now succeed with a style like this we will have him to thank for kicking it off.
