  1. Collingwood have this annoying knack of getting quick replies
  2. Good player Langford, can fit a number of roles
  3. Been a good game but I expect Collingwood to pull away. The Bombers still look lacklustre at the in close inside stuff.
  4. What can you say, they're a scores from turnover side
  5. Yeah I've tried to watch some of the game again (I know, shoot me) and I'm a little more undecided now. He did make more leads than I originally noticed. But we really do need more out of him, big test next week.
  6. Watch him kick 5 next week now.
  7. The definitive player ratings! I also thought Lever could have been in line for the medal. Cut off and marked everything.
  8. I'd honestly watch a 30 min show on this stuff.
  9. David Mensch for Geelong in the 90s?
  10. Echoing buck_nekkid and many others about Petty. In the last 3 games he's had 10 marks and 1 goal. In the last two games he's had 0 and 2 possessions up to half time. Is it really just the interrupted pre season that is affecting him? It seemed like the Richmond defenders were getting a lot of marks in our 50 and we really struggled to get the ball to ground, interested to hear your thoughts.
  11. Well said but with respect if he's fit then he's gotta offer more. I don't agree with others that he competed well last night, he was outmarked by his direct opponent often and couldn't get the ball to ground, yes the delivery was horrible but he needs to impact the contest. He'd had a rough or barely any pre season I get it and I know there aren't other options however if there were, the reality is that he loses his forward spot based on these performances. I wouldn't drop him, absolutely not. However if he isn't going down back then he needs to find a away into these games other than a marks and goals forward. You can bet Chris Scott will be looking to exploit this area next week. Will continue to back him, we need him to be on next week.
  12. Brilliant article. This is the only footy media I want to read, will be looking out for their work in future. Almost like mini loading before two big games.
  13. One thing I'm not going to get used is the constant shanking of set shots to the right almost missing everything when last year he kicked through the ball beautifully.
  14. He's more your stay at home, contest and mark guy. If he's not marking them though you aren't left with much
  15. Watched him closely last night. Jogging around with no real urgency giving away defensive mark after mark. That's not what we need right now and while I'll continue to back him am improvement needs to be quite sharpish
  16. Thanks Mr Tactical Mastermind Jenkins
  17. We need to talk about Petty
  18. Never seen anything like this before in a very long time.
  19. It's a good question, I'm definitely guessing less.
  20. I thought I our defensive structures held up really well all game and our intercept game was in full effect with 12 marks for May and 11 for Lever. There was really no other way for Richmond to score other than hope for a turnover when we were sucked up the ground. We simply just didn't execute in that first half but you can really just put the memory of that in the bin. We know that's not a reflection of this team's skill level and I think you and I know this team a little better. May and Lever outstanding, Rivers and T-Mac did their job. Howes continues to go unnoticed, no news is good news in the role he plays. To see Trac heavily tagged and try hard to work through it rather than crack it was very encouraging and he did come into it in that second half. Clarry looked better but maybe still not quite 100%. Here's an interesting stat: Inside 50 count was dead even at 50 each, we had 26 shots 52% and they had 16 32%. I just wanted to show that while we've got our issues going into 50 and makikg the most of chances, this is a reasonable return. How much better is this side with Kozzie in it? Thought Max deserved the BOG, a lot more hitouts to advantage this week and great around the ground stuff. Ed Langdon was great, maybe one of his better games for the year. I think we're a work in progress at the moment. It's very much to the finished product but you can see what they're trying to achieve with the way they are moving the footy. The measuring stick will be right there next week but I do think we can go up a gear. Coach Eddie will be satisfied. Have a good ANZAC day everyone and tale care. Go Dees!
  21. I don't know what the deal with Petty is but if he's 100% fit he's way off.
  22. What are the thoughts on Nankervis? This was one of the rare guys who would make things difficult for Gawn in the past but Maxy took the honours with ease tonight. Wonder if the captaincy is weighing on him a bit, then again this is probably a question for Richmondland.
